It's interesting to see how different the tastes are of Canadians & Americans. Like Wide Awake hitting #1 in Canada, but Teenage Dream only hitting #2, and that was reversed in US. A #1 vs #2 could just be timing. I don't think that differentiates Canadian taste from ours. If Teenage Dream didnt make the top 10 there then maybe that'd be a different taste. But 1 vs 2 is 6 of 1. Agreed. I guess better examples would be Waking Up In Vegas hitting #2 in Canada, but #9 in the US, or Shut Up & Drive reaching #6 in Canada, but only 15 in US, and Hate That I Love reached #7 in US but only #17 in Canada.

My predictions: 1. Roar (barely!) 2. Blurred Lines 3. Berzerk 4. We can't stop 5. Applause 6. Holy Grail 7. Wake me up! 8. Radioactive 9. Safe and Sound 10. Summertime Sadness 11. Royals 12. Same Love
Only unsure of Katy being #1 because of her streaming numbers. Also Royals could very easily knock SS or S&S out.

The situation with WUIV was similar to that of Paparazzi, in that sales and airplay peaked months apart, which led to the songs hanging around a particular region of the chart for a long time rather than reaching a higher peak.

Roar 2 weeks at #1 on the Canadian Hot 100, Americans are a bit slow to decide what the better song is ;) It's interesting to see how different the tastes are of Canadians & Americans. Like Wide Awake hitting #1 in Canada, but Teenage Dream only hitting #2, and that was reversed in US. Yes, tastes are VERY different.

Anyways according to Kworb, Blurred Lines has a -3.857 update, keep free falling.

Besides Roar most likely getting #1 by next week is there a chance that Blurred Lines will (not just lose #1) but fall out of the top 3 on the Hot 100 in the next few weeks?

BL will remain in the upper regions for a while most likely, simply because it still has so many points and most songs in the upper regions are falling or close to peaking (Radioactive, We Can't Stop), or still have a while to go to make up the distance (Avicii, Lana).

I'm still astounded at Moves Like Jagger spending 10 weeks at #1 here, and blocking Someone Like You from #1 in the process... But part of the reason why Payphone and Wide Awake went #1 here was cuz they didn't have Call Me Maybe as competition. CMM already went #1 back in January/February. Plus I think STITUK took off a bit earlier here.

Even with 2 weeks less at #1 I think the longevity points should of made #1 a guarantee.

I think Robin will have one last week at #1, then Katy'll take over.
On Radio Songs, Robin won't be going anywhere any time soon.

"Applause" is crashing, wow... the song is really nice but with such cringeworthy lyrics. Anyway, hopefully "Roar" dethrones BL this week, go for it Katy!

"Blurred Lines" may drop from the top spot this week, but Robin and company won't be going bye-bye from the top spot on Hot 100 Airplay for some time.

Is Gaga really hitting a brick wall at ~50 million AI? Applause is really catchy...I'm surprised. I am thinking it will have a second wind...it's much less polarizing than many of the singles from Born This Way.
On another topic, does anyone know if Maroon 5 will go 5 singles deep this era? I don't think they ever have before, but they also haven't come close to having a string of singles this successful from one era - it is their first era to have 4 top 10 singles...actually I don't think they've even had an album with 3 top 10 singles previously. They are playing Lucky Strike in that promo for the show Lucky 7, so maybe. That song has always been the obvious single choice, although there are some others I like equally or even more. I was surprised they went with Love Somebody, although it seems to have worked out relatively well for them.

Yeah, Payphone reached #2 in US, but easily hit #1 in Canada for 8 weeks, while One More night got stuck at #2 (behind We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and then Gangnam Style).
