Who remembers a 1979 album cut by Chicago called "Street Player".

Classic jam! Ahead of its time.
Also love the sample in the house music track "The Bomb!" by The Bucketheads. It was also sampled by Pitbull in "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)."

This song never made the Hot 100 nor bubbling under Hot 100, but made #91 on Billboard's Soul Chart.

One of my favorites from Chicago even if it's not one of their signature songs. Critics accused them of jumping on the disco bandwagon but the song has gotten redemption. My earliest memory of this song was when Kenny Dope Gonzalez (under the alias Bucketheads) sampled it in "The Bomb", a song I heard alot on B96 and occasionally WGCI on the radio back then. I didn't hear the original Chicago song until much later. I'm also aware of Pitbull sampling the track as mentioned earlier. Chicago - street player www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJMw8cUGjwI

I listen to the Rufus and Chaka version more than the original, but I like the original too.

The 7” version of this song is my favorite Chicago song post-Terry Kath. The 12” version is okay, but feels like it just drags on.
