All indications have been pointing to this summer. But if we don't have a single soon, I would guess the album would be out this fall.

She recorded a duet with Aretha Franklin in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. I don't think it's for her album though, it's more likely it's for Aretha's upcoming duets album.
Also, apparently she's recorded two albums worth of material. Warner didn't like the first album, so they scrapped it completely and started all over.

Really? Where'd you hear that? I know someone who worked on the Aretha/Faith duet, and so he was in Nashville with her and her people. Straight from him.

Do you know what they didn't like about it? No, but I know that she's already recorded all the material, so the album should be coming out soon. It's just taken so long because she scrapped that first one.

I hope the album's good! :) The "Paris" song she performed live wasn't that good; I hope the album doesn't follow that song's direction.

Wait until you guys hear a song from her album called "Mississippi Girl." John Rich of Big and Rich wrote it (it's actually good, don't worry!). It's a great uptempo country tune about her roots. He wrote it specifically for her. It's awesome! I hope it's the lead single.

Faith has NEVER let me down (yes, I even like the Cry album). ;)
I'm totally excited for new Faith, she's been away for quite some time now and it feels even longer since the Cry project died so quickly.

She didn't scrap anything, she just recorded 50 + songs and has continued looking and narrowing down ever since. (Warner might have been frightened of some of the direction at first, but she's freaking Faith Hill, she can do what she wants.) She's got this album, a rumored duet album with Tim and a Christmas album. Her abum is wrapping up and I've heard the single might be out in the middle of May with the album to follow in the summer.

What does she is freaking Faith Hill mean? She answers to her record labe and has to do what they say. She is no Shania who has total control over everything in her career and doesn't even show the label the finished product until near the release date. Afterall Faith is not in the same huge megastar category as Shania and hasn't even headlined her own tour by herself yet. Faith has to scrap the album because her label wasn't happy. It happens to many artists who aren't in control, those are the facts.

Faith headlined her "This Kiss" tour (which was even before she took off with "Breathe.") And I would definately categorize Faith as a megastar, albeit she might not have the control over her music like Shania, but she is equally a star.

Faith has never done a world tour, though, and she couldn't, because she doesn't have much support or recognition overseas.
In the U.S., Shania's tours are bigger than Faith's, but Faith is still fairly respectable in this area. Outside of the U.S. though, there's no comparison between Shania and Faith - Shania is easily a much bigger star.

Hard to compare Faith to Shania right now. IMO Shania is a bigger star, again IMO.
But Faith went "pop" completely, and may have lost some fans. She also has been out of the spotlight for 2 1/2 years and Shania hasn't. So, hard to compare.

Shania is simply a bigger seller, but Faith is the better artist... (And here's when we'll hear the "but Shania writes her songs" screams!)
Sure, Shania writes childishly inane lyrics to Mutt Lange's derivative melodies, but what's the point of a defense like "Shania writes her songs", when the lyrical skills she has are on the level of a nursery-rhyme book?
Shania and Faith are both singers, and as such, technically, Faith is the best artist of the two...her voice is not only more powerful and flexible, but Shania's wispy, thin instrument is devoid of any emotional heft.

NYfan, get some serious help, you are a troll with no life and are doing nothing but starting fights on these threads. You are so obsessive about Shania and her life that I think the FBI should be contacted about your violent comments about Shania and he family on the CMT boards. THe moderators here don't know about all of your disgusting posts on other boards yet but you are starting to slip up again by your constant negative posts about Shania.

Faith does, or did, write songs. She was sued by her ex-producer/fiance for the songs they wrote together. I believe the "Take Me As I Am" album has some Faith cuts on it..I don't remember.. ???

Hmmm. Well. I can;t wait for new Faith music... I liked Cry but I hope she puts out something with a radio audience this time. And a duet album with Tim? That would make my year!

Faith is a huge megastar! Might I remind you of her megastar turn in the Hollywood blockbuster "The Stepford Wives" last summer?

Faith is a huge megastar! Might I remind you of her megastar turn in the Hollywood blockbuster "The Stepford Wives" last summer? Might I remind you that Faith had a very small Supporting role in that movie. So many of her scenes were cut that she was downgraded to almost a cameo in the movie. What small amount of time she was on screen, all Faith did was smile a fake smile, clap and make certain noises from a bedroom. That is all. Be honest. Faith is not a "megastar" in music or movies. Faith is not Julia Roberts, or even Emma Roberts. (Emma is Julia's young niece who is now starring in her own movies.) Faith is just another singer who wants to be an actress and wants to be known worldwide. Right now, it looks like Faith will have to get in line behind Jessica Simpson. Even Jessica Simpson is pursuing the acting thing. I am not a huge Jessica Simpson fan (other than the humor she provides every now & then), but Jessica is now a featured star of the upcoming "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. By your own definition, that would make Jessica a bigger "megastar" than Faith. Just something to think about.

And I would definately categorize Faith as a megastar, albeit she might not have the control over her music like Shania, but she is equally a star. The "This Kiss" tour was headlined by Faith but it was not a huge tour. Faith's one and only large tour was the one she co-headlined with Tim. Neither Faith nor Tim have headlined a tour like that on their own. Also, neither one of them has headlined a worldwide tour by themselves on the scale that Shania Twain has. Faith may be/may have been a "megastar" in the eyes of the country music industry, but she clearly does not hold that title outside of the country industry.
