The eyesore of a post in this thread has been deleted. Firstly, as Kurt noted, guests weren't supposed to be able to post in here. And secondly (if the first reason wasn't reason enough to delete the post), the person who made the post was perma-banned a few years ago anyway.

I just saw Willie Nelson's post on Facebook. What a great man. I've never been a big fan of Willie's music, but I've always liked him as a person and seeing that really made me like him even more. I should check out more of his stuff now though. I think he's earned it, lol.

I appreciate the sentiment of your post, Jas, and am glad you offered it here. :) Although you did state that you didn't want to debate, I'll respect that but I would like to add the mere fact that being homosexual is not a choice. I speak from experience and the evidence is too much to ignore. Nobody, Christian, athiest or otherwise would choose this way of life willingly. Those of us that consider ourselves proud do so because we grow and embrace it due to the negativity toward us. But I can promise that 99% of gay people have faced and experienced self-issues in regards to being gay upon initially coming to terms with it - because of how it is viewed by certain members of society. It's not a choice. If I can be sure of anything in my life, it's not a choice. 1. ".....,the evidence is too much to ignore." and 'homosexuality is NOT a choice' So true, lots of studies exist, but ignorance is sometimes chosen because it's the easier road and it doesn't cause great upheaval to the person's belief system. ' Ignorance is bliss'. 2. Here's an old statistic that's existed for a long time: 10% of every population is homosexual. Perhaps even when Jesus walked the earth?.. 3. The Bible is also a wonderful societal documentation. A Book written solely by men for men. A book which depicts a vengeful God in the old and a loving, compassionate, forgiving God in the new. Always wondered, ' What caused the change in outlook? I love the idea of a world that looks for acceptance, understanding, love, forgiveness, peaceful coexistence . I am a Roman Catholic. A lapsed RC. The world view I described above was one I lived in for many years and created by my parents. My mother was a devout catholic. Perhaps simple in some ways, but so wise, so perceptive. Her Faith in her God saw her through many hardships. She saw goodness in everyone (even me). She shared no matter how little she had, with others less fortunate. She didn't need studies and proof that Jesus exists. She believed He did, and acted accordingly. She wasn't interested, in what a person looked like, worked or didn't work, their religion, or who they slept with. She was interested in the human experience we all share. And how to work together. I think of her often and even now helps me make my way in the world. Live and Let Live. End of my ramble.
