Is anyone else getting sick and tired of seeing Diamond Rio nominated for this category at every single ceremony? When they were nominated at last year's ACM's, I was annoyed but could understand because of their singles success. By the time the CMA's rolled around, I was more annoyed because they hadn't done much and the slot should have gone to Shedaisy.
But now, at this year's ACM's?!?!?!?! WTF?!
That slot should have gone to Trick Pony or more likely, Shedaisy. At least they got Alabama the heck out of the running.

I cannot understand the constant oversight of Shedaisy; they are a talented group with consistent singles (save for the trashing radio did of "Get Over Yourself").
I like Diamond Rio a lot, but in the group and duo categories, it is common for some staples to hang around even when they are not putting out a bunch of great stuff. If not for the appearance of Big & Rich, the Bellamy Bros. would still be getting nominated. At least Diamond Rio still gets some airplay.
Anyhow, this trophy goes to no one but Rascal Flatts right now. I am excited to see Sugarland rise to fame, because I think country lacks relevant groups right now... I will also be terribly interested in the futures of Trick Pony & the Dixie Chicks.

I agree that SHeDAISY were robbed of a nomination this year. I actually think that it's pretty ridiculous that Diamond Rio were nominated over them. Not that DR aren't a talented group, but when you compare this past year for both artists, it's pretty clear that SHeDAISY had the much better year.

I'll add another agreement that SHeDAISY doesn't get anywhere near the recognition that they should.

I've been away from these boards for about a week and I"m doing some catching up. I'm absolutely in agreement that SHeDAISY should have received a nomination, and I'm glad to see others here who feel the same.
What I find really refreshing is that the gals can look back with a sense of humor about some of the twists and turns of their career. How many other acts would put a lighthearted reference to a previous CD's less-than-hoped-for sales into a SINGLE, AND make it one of the best parts of their video? I love that kind of bounce-back attitude.

Country music is in dire need of some great bands right now. It's too bad too... some outstandingly talented groups in the last 5 years are now either disbanded or label-hunting (BlackHawk, Ricochet, Sixwire, Sons of the Desert, Emerson Drive, Yankee Grey, South 65, River Road, Marshall Dyllon, 4 Runner, etc.)
