YOUR NEW RELEASES: After one day of sales, it looks like we might have another close race this week for #1. We're giving the edge to Keith Urban for the moment, but keep checking back here for updates. Here are this week's key debuts: Keith Urban (Capitol Nashville) 100-110k The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 90-100k 2 Chainz (Def Jam/IDJ) 55-65k Janelle Monae (Bad Boy/Atlantic) 45-50k Arctic Monkeys (Domino) 35-40k Sheryl Crow (Warner Bros. Nashville) 30-35k Earth Wind & Fire (Legacy) 22-25k Rise Against (Interscope) 17-20k Kaskade (Ultra) 15-17k Gloria Estefan (Sony Masterworks) 14-16k Y'know, writing this stuff while riding naked on a wrecking ball isn't as easy as we thought it would be. (9/11p) Happy for Janelle, Artic, Kaskade, and Gloria. Decent numbers for Sheryl considering I think Jewel's first country album only sold a few units more?

2 Chainz (Def Jam/IDJ) 55-65k WHAAATT I have a feeling people had no idea his album was coming out. But who knows, it's still pretty surprising.

Impressive sales for The Weeknd and Arctic Monkeys. I was hoping Janelle Monae did a little better but I'll take 50k.

^Yes, the New Release Schedule was way off with some estimates.
That's why I say take it with a grain of salt. Not every estimate will be spot on.
What is that EW&F release? A new GH album?

The Weeknd's new album is really good, y'll should give a listen.
Never get why Arctic Monkeys is so underrated in US, they're way better than most of alt bands here and John Mayer is so underrated in UK and he's way better than most of singer/songwriters there.

Let's just hope Billboard doesn't add pre-orders to their charts and bring 1D a premature debut.

Very good showing for The Weeknd, but I'm shocked by Chainz. His profile isn't as high as it was when his last album came out, but this is much much lower thanI thought it would be.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/5687406/keith-urban-aiming-for-second-no-1-album-on-billboard-200-chartKeith Urban Aiming for Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | September 11, 2013 10:02 PM EDT The Weeknd, 2 Chainz and Janelle Monae are also heading for significant debuts on the Billboard 200. Country star Keith Urban is possibly heading for his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources suggest the singer/guitarist's new release, "Fuse," may sell around 100,000 to 110,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Sept. 15. If it tops the list -- the top 10 of which will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18 -- it will mark his second leader, following 2009's "Defying Gravity." Urban's last studio set, 2010's "Get Closer," debuted and peaked at No. 7 with an opening week of 162,000 copies (according to Nielsen SoundScan). If Urban doesn't come in at No. 1 next week, that honor will fall to the Weeknd's debut full-length studio set, "Kiss Land." The singer's album might move around 90,000 to 100,000. It follows his compilation set, "Trilogy," which bowed at No. 4 last year, moving 86,000 in its first week. ("Trilogy" gathered up his three previously released mixtapes, which were issued throughout 2011.) Other albums set for significant debuts on next week's chart include 2 Chainz's "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" with around 55,000 and Janelle Monae's "The Electric Lady" with 50,000. Also on deck for high arrivals: Arctic Monkey's "AM" (35,000) and Sheryl Crow's debut country album, "Feels Like Home" (30,000 or so).

YOUR TOP 15: While it's still pretty close in the race for #1, we're still giving the edge to Capitol Nashville's Keith Urban. A #1 debut for Urban will give Mike Dungan's Universal Nashville its fifth chart topper this year (Gary Allan's Set You Free, Luke Bryan's Spring Break... Here To Party and Crash My Party and Lady Antebellum's Golden) and two in this week's Top 5. Half of this week's Top 15 are debuts. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend:
*Keith Urban (Capitol Nashville) 100-105k *The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 90-95k *2 Chainz (Def Jam/IDJ) 55-60k Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 50-55k *Janelle Monae (Bad Boy/Atlantic) 45-50k *Arctic Monkeys (Domino) 35-40k *Sheryl Crow (Warner Bros. Nashville) 30-35k Ariana Grande (Republic) 30-35k Tamar Braxton (Epic) 30-35k *Earth Wind & Fire (Legacy) 27-30k John Legend (Columbia) 25-28k Avenged Sevenfold (Warner Bros.) 21-24k *Kaskade (Ultra) 20-23k Nine Inch Nails (Columbia) 20-23k Robin Thicke (Star Trak/Interscope)
*Debuts
OK, back to listening to our insufferable office-mates talking about football. Wheee. (9/12p)

Wow, first Sean underselling and now 2 Chainz way underselling. Not looking good for the rap stars, but I applaud people not purchasing a shitty project. Maybe this will have a change on the music as well.

www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/5695439/janelle-monae-arctic-monkeys-and-sheryl-crow-heading-for-top-10-onJanelle Monae, Arctic Monkeys and Sheryl Crow Heading For Top 10 on Billboard 200 By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | September 13, 2013 Here’s a peak at next week’s Billboard 200 albms chart: Janelle Monae is set for her first top 10, Arctic Monkeys is making a strong return and Sheryl Crow's aiming for her ninth top 10 set. Monae's "The Electric Lady" should give the singer her biggest sales week ever as well. Industry sources suggest the album could sell around 45,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sept. 15. "The Electric Lady," which is her second full-length effort, could launch within the top five of the tally next week. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Sept. 18. Monae's previous high week was logged when her debut album, "The Archandroid: Suites II and III," debuted and peaked at No. 17 with 21,000 in 2010, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Monae's new album features guest turns from Prince, Erykah Badu, Miguel and Solange. Chart Moves: Bastille's 'Bad Blood' Debuts, Fleetwood Mac's 'Opus' Opens, Little Big Town's 'Tornado' Celebrates Anniversary The No. 1 position next week will likely belong to country star Keith Urban. His latest set, "Fuse," is aiming for a debut in the top slot. It may sell around 100,000. The runner-up position will be filled by the Weeknd's new album "Kiss Land," which could debut with 95,000 sold. 2 Chainz's "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" will likely debut at No. 3 with around 55,000. Meanwhile, British band Arctic Monkeys is looking to collect its best sales week since 2007, as its new "AM" is selling well. It could bow with 35,000, giving the act its first top 10 effort since 2007's "Favourite Worst Nightmare" debuted and peaked at No. 7 from a start of 44,000. Following that, the group charted with 2009's "Humbug" (No. 15 debut with 28,000) and 2011's "Suck It and See" (No. 14; 21,000 debut). This past week, Arctic Monkeys scored its first hit single on the Alternative songs chart since 2006. "Do I Wanna Know?" bowed at No. 40. It's the group's first hit (and only second ever) after "I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor" reached No. 7 in 2006. One more new album seems destined for a top 10 debut: Crow's debut country set "Feels Like Home." The album, which is her first for Warner Bros. Records after a career on A&M/Interscope Records, may sell around 35,000. "Feels Like Home" is Crow’s eighth studio recording, and will mark her ninth top 10 set. It should continue her streak of seeing every one of her studio efforts reach the top 10, dating back to her 1994 debut album, "Tuesday Night Music Club." (A No. 1 album still eludes Crow, though she has racked up four No. 2 efforts.) On SoundScan's Building chart (below), the Weeknd and Urban are Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking, reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants. Though the Weeknd leads on the Building chart, it is expected Urban will finish ahead on the final Billboard 200 chart. As for the rest of the top 10: 2 Chainz is No. 4, followed by Luke Bryan's "Crash My Party" at No. 4. Arctic Monkeys are found at No. 5, with Monae and Ariana Grande's "Yours Truly" next at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. Tamar Braxton's "Love and War" is No. 8, followed by John Legend's "Love In the Future" at No. 9 and Kaskade's "Atmosphere" at No. 10. Imagine Dragon's "Night Visions" closes out the top 10 at No. 10. NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN BUILDING CHART Rank LW BB 200 Artist Title 1 NEW The Weeknd "Kiss Land" 2 NEW Keith Urban "Fuse" 3 NEW 2 Chainz "B.O.A.T.S. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.

Isn't 100k a bit low for Keith Urban? how much did he do last time? I mean, he has #1 country single, has AI gig, on country awards show all the time, tons of exposure.

From Keith Caulfield (Billboard) on Twitter:MDNA World Tour only avail digitally/CD-R in U.S., so that hurts its chart placement. Maybe top 100 debut on billboard 200?Unlike "Sticky & Sweet" tour, which was CD, digital, CD/blu-ray & CD/DVD, helping it debut in top 10.
