I posted this on a diff. MB, but thought I would go ahead and post it on here:
I have been following AI VERY closely. Carrie is by far, the best on there, and I think she's going to walk away with it. Will be interesting to see what kind of music she would put on her CD. Her rendition of Independence Day is something that could have even given Martina chills as it was dead-on. Her version of Could've Been was GREAT as was her cover of Alone. She's gonna go quite far I believe. Her and Nadia are my faves, and Vonzell is my dark horse.
As for Nashville Star, let's just say a better title would be Trashville Star from what I've seen of this season. Only one with talent is Erika Jo. As far as I'm concerned, they should save us all from all the other's performances and just hand it over to her. The judges are downright pathetic this yr. as well as they don't know how to constructively criticize. Bret seems hungover or drunk most of the times and at times gets harassing towards the ladies. I can't see that show after this season, lasting another.

I've been following American Idol as well. I agree, Carrie stands apart from all the rest. I think she will not only be the next AI, but also America's sweetheart.
As for Nashville Star, I quit watching after about 2 weeks. I couldn't stand watching amateur night every week. Bret is disgusting and Phil Vassar is just too nice. The only decent judge is the woman and her name escapes me.

Carrie is amazing! I too am very interested in what an album from her would sound like. She has a great voice, she looks the part, lol. If she doesn't get AI, which I'm almost 100% sure she will, I'm sure she will get a contract like Josh Gracin did.

If she doesn't get AI, which I'm almost 100% sure she will, I'm sure she will get a contract like Josh Gracin did. She's gonna win AI this year. You can take that to the bank. If I was her manager, I would release different singles to country and pop radio and go that route. Country radio may not be a huge fan of that strategy, but it may be worth a gamble. And Steelo, Bret may be drunk half the time, but he's in far better shape than Paula Abdul. Something is really wrong with her. Bret is funny drunk, while Paula is almost sad.

Carrie has an awesome voice, but she's a wooden, stiff performer.
My worry with her and the country audience is that they will be unable to be satisfied with simply marketing her as a country act. They're going to make her do pop-oriented music so that she at least has the chance of crossing over. That stuff doesn't fly these days.

I dont watch Nashville Star, but I do watch American Idol. Carrie and Vonzell are my favorite girls, and I guess Anwar is my favorite guy. Paula does seem weird doesnt she? She's just stoical to me.

Well Carrie is my obvious favorite but I also liked both of the other "country" girls.(Lindsay, and Jessica) Jessica especially should have made it much farther but I think there was only enough voters to keep 1 country artist in the show and of course that is Carrie! Carrie should win, but I hope she doesnt at the same time, because I feel like she could do better on a Nashville label.

It wasn't because she's not good vocally, because she is, but like Simon said and I agree with, she's lacking the personality and charisma that the other contenstants have. America likes a good voice AND personality. Anwar is one of the worst on there as well, and I see him and Scott duking it out over which one is going first. I can't stand Randy either and Paula is getting worse by the second. You would think that after being the one that caused a Hit&Run that she would be even more sympathetic since she just got a slap on the wrist for it. Also, although Paula says she doesnt side with anyone and that they are all great and deserve to be there, you can easily tell that Anwar is her personal pick to win the whole thing as his attempt at I Believe I Can Fly made my ears bleed and was the worst performance of the night. Being that he was in the bottom 3, I guess the public agreed more with me than Paula.

Carrie is a tense performer. She could move more, but I think once you get her out into the field she will move more. She's new remember, you gotta teach her to move ;)
