Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 Hot AC 9/28/13

Well, late again in getting this chart up, but it's worth the wait as a couple of rare chart feats took place this week, both regarding the same song. Katy Perry takes over the top of Rick's chart this week with "Roar", a song that took just four weeks to hit the top of the chart. I don't know when this happened the last time, but probably not for a decade or more. The other rare feat that this song accomplished was tying for the biggest jumper of the week, even rarer for the number one song to accomplish. While the 5 spot jump was certainly not the biggest leaper into the top spot, it was good enough for a tie for the biggest jumper this week in an otherwise slow chart. Only Avici was able to duplicate this move, while two songs dropped 5 spots for the tie for the biggest dropper.

Newcomer's The Neighbourhood debut at #39 with the only debut of the week, with "Sweater Weather". And Fitz & The Tantrums are on the cusp of scoring their third Hot AC hit with their latest release, "Out Of My League".
