Since this cd was released today I thought I would bring up a topic about it. I love this cd and am just curious as to what others opinions are.

I think it's one of Jo Dee's best albums to date. Most of the songs are uptempo and catchy. On an album that's hard for me to pick a standout favorite, "Not Going Down" is the one I find myself singing along with most often. Each song released from this album should do well for her.

I agree with Not Going Down. That song stood out for me as well, but that's really the only one.

I have mixed feelings.....it's a good album for what it is, but I was expecting a little more. With her new edgy single, her new image, and an edgy video, i was really expecting "Delicous Surprise" to have more of a rock edge.
Overall, DS sounds like "Burn part 2"....except I think it's slightly better.
Some of my favorites are the title track, Too Late To Worry, and You Were Just Here. All three of those SHOULD be singles....

This is a wonderful CD; it's nice to have new music from Jo Dee.
I'm not sure if it merits being a CMA or ACM nominee for album of the year; three of my choices so far would be Tim McGraw, Joe Nichols, & Lee Ann Womack.

I do like thiis album for what it is, I'd actually say it's one of my favorites released so far this year. However, I was hoping it'd be edgier based on MGADB. It's a lot more like Burn than I thought it'd be, though I do agree that it's a better album. Besides MGADM, "Too Late To Worry" is my favorite song on the record and needs to be a single. I also really like "Where Were You", "Love Is Not Enough", "Not Going Down" and "Life Is Good".

WELCOME BACK JO DEE! Her single is sitting at #1 on mediabase, and her album should be doing the same thing! I got my fingers crossed for her! What a comeback! Also it looks as though she may be dominating both the singles and the albums charts for weeks to come!

Congrats to Jo Dee Messina for making a HUGE comeback and for being the first female to have a #1 single in 2005!

Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Country album chart w/ 99,449 units becoming her 3rd #1 album. And over on the Top 200, debuts at No. 7 becoming her first top 10.
This is quite an improvement over her best sales week to date which was "Burn" debuting w/ 61,151 units.

Jo Dee is #1 on both charts for ANOTHER week! Here is a article from her Official site. IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT JO DEE MESSINA’S “MY GIVE A DAMN’S BUSTED” HOLDS AS #1 SINGLE; ‘DELICIOUS SURPRISE’ STILL #1 ALBUM MARKS FIRST TIME THAT MESSINA’S HELD TOP SPOT ON BOTH COUNTRY SINGLES AND ALBUM CHARTS IN CONSECUTIVE WEEKS May 11, 2005 – Jo Dee Messina continues to impress and astound with her latest album Delicious Surprise. On the heels of a massive promotional campaign, which included stops for her at Good Morning America, The View, CBS Early Show and CNN Showbiz Tonight, Messina held the #1 spot atop Billboard’s Country Album Chart (Delicious Surprise), as well as the #1 position on both the Billboard and R&R Country Single Charts (“My Give A Damn’s Busted”) for a second consecutive week. “I’ve never been one to take success for granted,” said Messina. “But when something like this does happen it’s greatly appreciated. I really should thank country radio for their continued support, CMT and GAC for theirs and my fans, who have always been there for me. I’ve never felt more welcome.” “My Give A Damn’s Busted,” is Jo Dee’s 9th #1 country single. The song flew up the charts faster then any from her career and has taken its place as another in a line of Messina hits. Delicious Surprise, Joe Dee’s fourth studio album, features five songs either written or co-written by Jo Dee and marks her 3rd #1 album. Jo Dee Messina is an award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist that has given her heart and soul to find success. Since her debut in 1996, Jo Dee has sold more then 5 million albums and has received critical acclaim for her explosive singing style and electrifying performances. She has won countless awards including the Academy of Country Music's Top Female Artist of the Year (1999), was the winner of the CMA's prestigious Horizon Award and was the first female country artist to score three multiple-week #1 songs from the same album. Anyone heard what the next release will be? I know someone posted earlier that Jo Dee mentioned they were going to go with one of the ballads (can't remember which one) but I wonder if they've changed their minds since MGADB did so well. I'd love to see an uptempo follow-up as well... hopefully Too Late To Worry or Someone Else's Life.
I noticed that Delicious Surprise is getting some charting on Mediabase... I hope that is just stations playing it... not sure that would be my next choice (if at all) as a single. Good song though.

One of the problems I have with JoDee is her lack of ballads as singles. While a few of her ballads have been good, she needs to release more eventhough she's not as good vocally as most of the other females that release ballads....IMO.

I agree with you on that... more ballads. Although her voice is more suited for uptempos.

This is a great cd, slow at times but very solid. I highly recommend it!!
I think "Delicious Suprise" would be a great next single. She needs to do something fun for the summer. And "You Were Just Here" is a good choice as well. I would go uptempo though..

You Were Just Here is my favorite song on the cd, but I also agree that Delicious Surprise would be a good choice for summer. Although I also like Too Late To Worry. I think that is a great up tempo song that could have a awesome video also.

Is this CD good as I'm Alright because I loved that one? Not even close IMO. I'm Alright only had 1 song on it that I didn't like, whereas with Delicious Surprise, it's the exact opposite....only 1 song that I do like.

I just read a concert review from one of her fanclub members, and she stated that Delicious Surprise will be the next single and it will be out in a few weeks! I love this song......the more I listen to it the more I love it. Im glad they are going with another uptempo song before they slow things down.

Not saying this is a bad thing, but don't get your hopes up, especially since it is Curb Records. I have found that most artists have little say in what are singles and may not even be informed when the choice is changed..I know, crazy deal, you would think the label would at least tell the artist what the next single is, but they don't always do that..

Ya I know this!.....Her first single was changed twice, it was originally supposed to be Delicious Surprise, then they switched it to Too Late To Worry, next thing you know her site says request her new single My Give A Damn is Busted. She had also already stated they were going with It Gets Better, now she says it Delicious Surprise. lol So that is the latest news, but they could switch it up at the last minute like they did with the first single i guess.

I just gave "It Gets Better" a second listen, and I LOVE THIS SONG! And the fact that Jo Dee wrote it herself is even better. Great sound, awesome lyrics... this song needs to be released after Delicous Surprise (which has been confirmed as the second single, going for adds in a week or two). Please Curb... don't miss the boat on this amazing song!
