Lauren Lucas is one of my favorite new artists. I think she wrote several songs on her upcoming album. This may be one of them. Thanks for posting.

I love her voice. It just very unique! Did I mention I love her voice? Excellent song, but I am not sure how radio will embrace it.

Lauren will be in the CoverGirl Fresh Face of Country Music contest aired during the ACM Awards on Tuesday, May 17th. I wish see could sing a song so everyone could hear how incredible she is. At least everyone will see how beautiful she is!

This song is much better than her last single. Heard it on my truck radio today. I think it will peak in the Top 40, atleast.

I voted for Miranda Lambert. Miranda is just adorable whereas I don't think Lauren is all that pretty. Besides, I think Miranda is a better singer although I like the fact that Lauren sounds somewhat like Tammy Graham.

Anyone who doesn't think Lauren is pretty would be stunned by her beauty if they ever met her, and would wonder what they were thinking. Watch her on Tuesday night - her looks will no longer be up for debate. This goes for her voice as well.

Besides, I think Miranda is a better singer although I like the fact that Lauren sounds somewhat like Tammy Graham. I think Lauren & Miranda are both beautiful young women. For the CoverGirl Fresh Face of Country Music award, Lauren is the newest of the three girls nominated. Miranda has a distinct advantage over the other two girls because of the amount of public exposure she has had. That said, it doesn't diminish the beauty or talent of the others. Lauren is beautiful and her voice is full and rich with a distinctive sound. I love it. If you read their bios, you'll find that as a young girl Lauren began a community service organization to help abused and neglected children. She did it long before she became a recording artist which to me shows it was for the right reasons. She'll get my vote!

But how much longer has Amy Dalley's name been around then both of the others????? 5 singles and no cd....... That's true. Amy has been around longer but never received the public exposure to millions of people like Miranda has by being seen repeatedly for many weeks on the national TV show Nashville Star. And, Lauren has only been out since late March. She's really new. Congratulations to Miranda! She did a good job tonight on the ACM Awards.

Lauren sang at the CMA Music Festival Riverstages on Saturday. It was rainy but not real heavy when Lauren went on so there was a nice crowd. She sounded awesome and people around me who had never heard her said she "has a rich, full sound"...."I like her"...."What's her name, I've never seen her but she's good" and "She's beautiful" over & over again by men and women! I had a lot of fun talking to people about her since I had already seen her perform recently. The large screens helped us all get a closer look!
It was a really good festival. Kids to senior citizens were enjoying the events. Hope I can go back next year.

I love this song! Looking forward to her album. I saw her live at the CMA Festival. WOW! What great stage presence! It seemed others liked this newcomer as well. I will be first in line for her album! :)

This song made it to #50 on the daily R&R on May 12th with 787k in audience, and hasn't moved up since. WHY is this song stuck at #61 today, WITHOUT a bullet, and with only 434k in audience? ??? Her previous single peaked at only #49, but at least it managed 1.4 million in audience. Carolina Kind got about half that.

I've noticed before that when songs get pulled and another one substituted, there's often some confusion and the new song gets damaged. Darryl Worley had one of those, just to name one. I think they should have let her very good debut song go wherever it went, instead of muddying the waters. After it fell naturally there would have been time for a follow-up. Now I think radio is taking a hands-off attitude toward Lauren.

Looks like the board is having some problems. After posting, you get an error message, yet the original post DOES take. I ended up creating a duplicate posting too, which I removed with the Delete button.
Anyway, thanks for the info Zazie. I didn't know her label did a flip and changed singles in mid-stream. That happened to Shedaisy when a single from Knock On The Sky got pulled and replaced with a substitute, and it really messed things up... None of their singles from that CD ended up doing well. Thankfully, they bounced back with 3 Top 15 singles from their latest CD. (I can say Top 15 because I heard a rumor today that their current single jumped from #20 to #15 this week on Billboard).
It's a shame Lauren's singles aren't doing well. :(

Here's a photo of Lauren Lucas at the ACM Awards on the red carpet in Las Vegas last month. There's a short, complimentary description of her and her dress. I think she looks like a movie star. countrymusic.about.com/od/awards/ss/2005acmstyle3.htmIt's unfortunate that the flip of songs may have hurt Lauren at radio because she has a lot going for her being a very talented singer/songwriter/musician with great looks and great stage presence. I like What You Ain't Gonna Get & The Carolina Kind. The first one was really sassy. I think she wrote The Carolina Kind. Are radio requests what she needs to move up now, or is it too late?

In Nashville at the CMA fest she was signing autographs & taking pictures next to Brad Cotter. I didn't go through the line but saw them from a distance. Brad is smaller than I thought & Lauren is a beauty.

So what happened to her cd? Has it been pushed back or what? I haven't seen anything about it yet on her web site. Although there is a place on www.laurenlucas.com where you can now purchase shirts and shorts.

I liked What You Ain't Gonna Get and also thought they should have continued with it. I hope we hear something again from Lauren. There's been posts of flipped songs that did not work for other artists, but does anyone know if a "flipped song" has been successfully done before and if so, by whom?

Although the song was out for awhile, "Rock You Baby" by Toby Keith was pulled early (it probably would have made the Top 10 if allowed to continue on) so that they could release "Beer For My Horses" earlier to radio.
BFMH had already been accumulating some play as an album cut and I think the label was afraid that if they waited too long to release it, they would lose some of the stations that had started playing the song early.

Lauren performed at the K95 Music Festival in Richmond VA last weekend. John Michael Montgomery, Billy Dean and Hot Apple Pie were also performing. It was a huge festival and I was wondering if anyone reading this may have been there and saw Lauren perform? I'm hoping to make her South Dakota performance in mid-August.
