Curb Records has pushed back the release date for Trick Pony's R.I.D.E. album for an unprecedented SEVENTH time. The new release date is set for July 26th. I'm wondering if that's July 26th of 2005... 2006... 2012...?

I hope this isn't the end for them. They are too good, and country has too few bands...

When was the first release date? It'd be great to see how far apart they are from each other. What has been the issue with this.

When was the first release date? August 2004. Then it was pushed back to October, then January, then February, then April, then June, now July. What has been the issue with this. Typical Curb Records really. Amy Dalley's album still hasn't been released, despite five charted singles. Donovan Chapman released four singles from his debut CD & Curb never released the album. And let's not forget about the Clark Family Experience and their troubles with the label. There are several more examples I could post, but I'll leave that for someone else. :)

Well, I understand their position. Their last album flopped. They haven't had a hit single yet, and it's hard to release an album and have it do well without a hit single for the level they're at.

Shelve it and let them go. I like Trick Pony and feel they will do better on an indie label.

I love Amy and her music...but in my eyes, she IS LUCKY to have been given that many chances at radio. We could sit back and criticize Curb...but they aren't completely at fault. Maybe their true fault is that they just aren't signing the right acts.

When they are the one's releasing the singles then yes, we can say it IS their fault because it is. Amy wasn't the one releasing the singles to radio, Curb was.

I love Amy Dalley. Hopefully whatever her SIXTH single is will be successful.
Trick Pony really seems to be treading water. Can't say I love "It's A Heartache' but 'The Bride' should have shot straight to the Top 10. I was amazed it stalled barely in the Top 30.

Steve Holy is in the same boat, his first single off of his 2nd cd: "Iam Not Breakin" was released in the summer 2002 and the cd still hasn't been released. Curb has released 3 other singles since then (Rock-A Bye Heart, Put Your Best Dress On, and Go Home)

I liked Trick Pony for a while, but they need a little help. Their arrangements are too similar, and the vocals also are predictable. I'm sure they'd do better with a bigger push, but I'm also sure they'd do better if their music had the life to it that their first 2 releases did. And I can't hear that in their recent material.

UPDATE: The album has been pushed back a record-setting 8th time. The new release date is August 30, 2005. Curb really needs to either release the album or release the band... this is getting ridiculous.

I have a feeling the album will never see the light of day.
