www.radioandrecords.com/Newsroom/2004_07_19/kqbtaustin.aspThe popular KQBT Austin (CHR-Rhythmic The Beat) has changed to Talk "104.3 The Coyote, Austin's FM Talk Station." People on radio-info expect Clear Channel to change a station to CHR-Rhythmic and not leave Emmis-Sinclair's KDHT (Hot) without a competitor (candidates named to possibly switch are CHR-Pop KHFI and Rhythmic Oldies KFMK). KQBT and KDHT are tied for fifth with a rating in the high 4s and KQBT is Number 1 18-34. KQBT is still on the CHR-Rhythmic panel.

KQBT is gone all because of someone named Howard Stern! >:( I enjoyed listening to KQBT although KDHT was slightly better.

Infinity fumbled the punt and now KDHT is going to run it back for a touchdown. I'll be interested to see the fallout. A very stupid decision. Stern & CHR/Rhythmic could have worked together, as it does in Providence.

I didn't get that one either, especially after reading that they were #1 with 18-34 females. All for Stern, who's nothing more than a worn-out set of tires? Sure, he may be pulling in good numbers now, but who knows how long he has left in the business?
