K Thinking Out Loud you got me. but in the case of Stressed Out TOP had not crossed over yet so that really doesn't count because they weren't a household name so it didn't matter with them. Probably lots of people in the general public aren't aware that Stressed Out was their 3rd single and Ride was their 5th from Blurryface. Now that people are looking out for their music, let's see how their leadoff single vs. 3rd single from their next album does. And in the case of Eminem, that's just a case of him releasing the mainstream crossover after seeing that Berzerk and Rap God had little crossover appeal.

^^In terms of radio singles however, Stressed Out and Ride were the second and third singles, respectively, from Blurryface. So that's not really a fair comparison on that level either.

WEEK 51 (November 19, 2016)1 week to go! Phew! Sorry about the late night update, but I was busy watching the election unravel. Don't have enough energy to go more into detail with the notes but this looks as though it is it for entries barring a 60k+ week from Black Beatles. Notes: - Tiimmy Turner and Starving both enter this week; I can't see anything else doing so next week.
- No Problem, Setting The World On Fire, Black Beatles, and 24K Magic would all stand a chance had they had an extra week.
- Closer will finish at #10 just behind Can't Stop The Feeling!
Legend: Blue = Actively charting in the hot 100's top 10. Bold = Actively charting on the hot 100. * = Reached its highest peak in a separate time period.

Ugh I'm so annoyed that STWOF is coming up just short, I doubt it'll make next year's list either :(

barring a 60k+ week from Black Beatles I think it could be close to 60k actually. It's STILL gaining on iTunes and is doing quite well in streaming as well. It'll get 50k for sure (unless it crashes in the next couple days). I can see it being in the 55k-60k range at least. It would be crazy to see a song on the year-end chart having only entered the top ten in the second-last week of the chart year...

Alright, one more round of comments before the final list next week! - Looks like Panda will pass Stressed Out, which sucks. But at least the entire Top 5 will be #1s if that ends up being the case. - I may have already said, but it will be a little crazy if CSTF passes Cheap Thrills, seeing as the latter had the advantage of having 12 extra weeks. But the former will definitely re-enter the Top 20 next week and could potentially make next year's list too (I'll bring that post I made on that bit back up later). - That same logic allows Needed Me to pass This Is What You Came For. - No Problem would've made it if it hadn't spent its first 20 weeks in the bottom half of the chart. - Too bad that that boost for Setting The World On Fire thanks to the album couldn't get it quite enough. That huge drop it had on its second week wasn't kind to it at all. - If 24K Magic duplicates this week's point totals next week (though it'll probably get a bit more seeing as it's expected to jump then), it'll end up with less than 90% of the cutoff. And I'm okay with that. As I said, the less points it wastes in 2016, the better. - So Ooouuu made the Bubbling Under. Thankfully it'll have a lot of points wasted here and hopefully miss next year's too.

If Black Beatles gets 70k+ points this week, which is doubtful, it will be #100.

Black Beatles only needs 63000 points to pass Somewhere On A Beach which will be the last song on the chart because Tiimmy Turner will pass it next week.

Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, probably one or two others I'm forgetting the names of... For that matter, I don't know if Black Beatles will actually gain as much as some of you are predicting. I mean, Closer gained not even 50k (in before jokes) this week, and I highly doubt it's gonna gain more than that next week. Even if it does hit #1, it probably won't pass Closer by a massive amount, but I could always be wrong. Also, george, this is another one that I know won't make this cut, but what about In The Name Of Love by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha? How many points is that one about to waste in this year?

One of the best things about Trump being president is that Miley Cyrus is moving to Canada. Good. Let her make terrible music there and not here. We've endured enough!
I'd honestly take Bieber over Cyrus. Do countries have programs where you can trade musician's? I have a large share of musicians I'd like to trade.

I have a large share of musicians I'd like to trade. 1) There is nothing good about Trump winning. 2) Miley moving to Canada means nothing. A singer (or anyone, for that matter) doesn't have to live in a country to be successful in that country. Cheap Thrills was #1 here for weeks yet I'm not even sure if Sia has been to Ireland before. Rather Be was huge in the US but both Jess and Clean Bandit are from the UK. 3) Miley hasn't released music that did well since 2013, and I can't see her doing it again. I think she is done with commercial pop music and chasing the charts. 4) I don't get how this post is relevant to the Hot 100 Year End Predictions thread but

How about we wait and see how Donald Trump does his first year as president before judging him. Maybe he wont be that bad of a president. You never know.

Okay, guys. I don't mean to be that guy here, but I am really getting sick of seeing this thread constantly derailed off into discussions that it shouldn't.
Can we please please please please please PLEASE stay on topic now?!?! I know I sound like I'm mini-modding here but this is getting annoying. If you want to talk about how bad it is that Drumpf is president, please try to take it elsewhere.
And on that note... Kinda crazy to believe there are less than 7 hours left of this chart year that count towards streaming and sales (radio has three more days after today though). It doesn't feel like all too long ago when Love Yourself first debuted in the Top 5 to kick things off and while Hello was still rampant.

Totally agree with Narwhals and gravey about the election, but like scrohr said, let's please take all the election talk onto the election thread and get back on topic about the YE chart again... :)
That being said, it's so exciting to watch this year wind down, but it didn't seem that long ago since 2015. I remember after Halloween 2015 and Adele's #1 debut, time just seemed to blast its way to present day, and especially since June, it literally felt like 1 month. Every year just goes by faster and faster...

Hey george, will Chill Bill have a chance for next years Year End? I'd probably say no as it'll already be on its 16th week when the 2017 chart year begins, but it's still gaining across all three metrics so can't know for sure. It may even rise into the top 30 next week so it's still debatable as it is not very big on Rhythmic/Urban radio, having potential to grow.

If White Iverson and Antidote made it, I think Chill Bill could too. Iverson spent 30 weeks, with 20 of it this year. if Chill Bill manages 30 weeks, then it will be 14 weeks for 2017s, and it could have a chance, so lets hope and see.

I feel like Black Beatles will barely make the official list even if it misses the cutoff on the predictions, idk My hope for Peter Pan, even though I doubt it'll happen :'( it needs a 6k point error to make it on the actual chart. Looking back on Daniel Collins's and Broccoli's '14 and '15 predictions, it's possible, but a bit of a stretch... EDIT: It actually may be possible. Based on Broccoli's '15 predictions, How Deep Is Your Love had a 8k error and Back To Back had a 10k error, so 6k is doable. And most underestimations back in Broccoli's list was songs towards the end of the year, which Peter Pan falls into. Praying that Peter Pan can do it... (and no offense george, I totally want your predictions to be accurate, but it's just that I really want Peter Pan to make it lmao)

Didn't something like this happen with How Deep Is Your Love on last year's chart? I hope it happens for Peter Pan Also, How Deep Is Your Love felt like a #1 on Pop radio it is still on regular rotation ALL THE TIME rather then at #16, song deserved a much better chart run at least to the same level as it did in the UK.
