^ wow, didn't realize TIWYCF spent that many weeks in the top 10. On that note, would it be possible after the chart year is over to get totals of how many weeks the top songs spent in the top 10 during the year?

Once the final Hot 100, I'll post the total weeks for the following tiers that I consider important: Hot 100, Top 40, Top 20 and Top 10. For each tier, I'll have at least 10 songs. |

I really hope that 2017 will be more cheerful and hopeful in music. We really need songs with positive vibe or message in these upcoming dark and vile times. We will all need music as an escape from scary reality, so I really hope 2017 hits won't be dark and depressing.

When does the year end Hot 100 get released? If it goes by last year's schedule, this year's should be released on December 7. |

He has changed his tone a lot lately, and has back-tracked on some of his more ridiculous statements *cough* wall *cough* I didn't support Trump. But he's the president now, and we can't do anything about it. The best we can do is be hopeful to President Trump that he'll be a good leader to this nation. If he screws up, by 2018 the Democrats would probably take the House back, which would mean a one term president. Just settle down, and chill. Everything will be fine. Continue to live your life how you want to. Here's something good; Black Beatles may be #1 next week, which is grand because the song might waste all of it's points in the last week of the year. Which means a lower spot on next year's YE list. Thank god! |

It was mostly because One Dance blew the fuck up that Panda only ended up getting 2 weeks at #1. There was also Justin Timberlake's song. Panda was in the top 2 and top 3 for quite a long time actually overall. But I agree about Rae Sremmurd's song only getting like 2-3 weeks at #1. The song has been very addicting for me but I hope the hype dies down fast and that it's not going to be another 10-week+ #1... |

While Wikipedia's list includes the number of total weeks in the Top 10 for songs in the Hot 100 for 2016, it isn't quite the same as the 2016 chart year that Billboard uses for some songs. In the TIWYCF' case, though, the weeks listed do correspond to those of the chart. For songs that were in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 during any week of December 2016, those totals are anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks too low. |

We might as well pack our bags up before 2017's chart year begins, and start discussing it on the new thread. Waiting until 2017 to move threads would be pointless, since we'd would have already talked about 4-5 weeks of 2017's chart year on this thread. |

This thread is unwieldy as is. I can't easily jump to a rough segment of the thread for a particular season or week because of all the fan-response varying over time. It's more manageable when things are split into at least years, like the Billboard charts on this forum.
