Voted for "yes". I never searched for any particular page here so it doesn't matter that much to me.

I voted yes cause to keep things simple *I also joined Pulse cause of this thread when I was googling for year end predictions late 2015 and happened to find it, so hooray for nostalgic influences being applied.

I would prefer this thread because we can have each year in this thread.
A problem with that, though, is that it's not that easy to find each year. But I guess that could be resolved with having links to the first update of each tracking year in the OP.

Wow same here, except I was searching midway through this year. How amusing. Back before 2015's Year-End chart, I didn't know how the charts worked precisely, and seeing Hello at #35 with only three weeks really baffled me. Is it wrong that there was a part of me that was paranoid about See You Again taking #1 from Uptown Funk back then?

While Wikipedia's list includes the number of total weeks in the Top 10 for songs in the Hot 100 for 2016, it isn't quite the same as the 2016 chart year that Billboard uses for some songs. In the TIWYCF' case, though, the weeks listed do correspond to those of the chart. For songs that were in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 during any week of December 2016, those totals are anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks too low. So, even though Adele's Hello spent 18 weeks overall in the Top 10. For 2016's chart year, it only spent 15. Right? Yes, that's an example of what I'm talking about. But I'll remedy that by Tuesday.

Black Beatles up to #1. Just to remind people before they flood in here that there is a Hot 100 thread here to discuss its movement and the other movements :) Sorry if I'm mini-modding but the constant off topic discussion here is getting annoying to a lot of us lol

Question for George, now that Black Beatles is at number 1, do you think it will make the Year End Hot 100? As of last week it needed 63000 points to push Somewhere On A Beach out.
I think it would be really cool if it could do it. It would be kinda lame if Somewhere On A Beach made it with a peak of 35 and such a weak chart presence and cultural presence overall. Black Beatles deserves to make the year end IMO

BLACK BEATLES IS #1! YES!
I mean, I hate the song. But it just wasted every point it had in 2016's charting year. That means it won't be high next year. I hope!

Am I the only one who thinks that Closer is not done with number 1 yet? I feel like it could return to number 1 next week or 2. But that is just me.

^ For 24K Magic, with its lackluster streaming, I can safely say its only chance at #1 at this point is the album release, and even then if it does make it, it'll most likely be by the skin of its teeth. But we could always be surprised and it could gain out of nowhere some other time. But we'll see.
Starboy, on the other hand, has always been pretty healthy in streaming and the airplay is still good, not to mention the album is expected to sell even better (I think sources stated it's projected like 400k or something like that). So its chances of making #1 on the 12/17 chart are strong, provided it hasn't died out by then.
Black Beatles could die out quickly, some are predicting it to. Maybe not seeing as its streaming is enormous, but once again anything is possible.

I'm feeling the next number 1 is going to be Perry's lead single. I still didn't hear that black beattles... What kinda song it's. I'm always so lazy to hear those suddenly n1, like Closer and Can't stop the feeling. I like when n1s take a good low-to-high run on the chart like Cheap thrills did, it's pretty annoying when songs debuts in top 10 and goes 1 or direct 1, expect of course when the songs are my favorite artist's.

Man, 2017's chart year is so exciting already. There's a lot going on. Still hoping False Alarm will eventually climb the Hot 100 and make a splash on next year's YE list.
After George posts the final week of 2016's chart year tomorrow, I'll be posting my predictions.

^ That is true, I could foresee 24K Magic ending up in a similar vein as Take Me To Church did last year - wastes points in 2014 even within entering the Top 5, and still gets pretty high up on the final rankings. If it could make the Year-End Top 15 for 2017, I'd be plenty happy with that, but Top 20 I guess would be okay too.
Speaking of Take Me To Church, for fun, let's flash back to the Top 10 in the first week of 2015 and see where the songs there ended up: 1. Blank Space - #7 2. All About That Bass - #28, #8 in 2014 3. Take Me To Church - #14 4. Animals - #46, #64 in 2014 5. Shake It Off - #18, #13 in 2014 6. Habits (Stay High) - #77, #32 in 2014 7. I'm Not The Only One - #26 8. Jealous - #38 9. Love Me Harder - #56 (this one fell out pretty quickly after it left the Top 10 for good) 10. Don't - #92, #52 in 2014
As you can see, Blank Space is the only one of these that made the Year-End Top 10 for that year, and only two others - one of which was a repeat - even made the final Top 20.
Compare that to the first week of 2016, along with where the projected list has them. 1. Hello - #35 in 2015, Top 10 here 2. Sorry - #2 3. Hotline Bling - #30 in 2015, should end right near Top 25 here 4. Love Yourself - #1 5. What Do You Mean? - Bound to end near #33, where it did in 2015 6. The Hills - #10 in 2015, will likely end in the top 1/3 of the chart 7. Stitches - #36 in 2015, should end right near Top 25 here 8. 679 - #21 in 2015, will be high in the second half of the chart here 9. Wildest Dreams - #57 in 2015, will likely end in the last 1/4 of the chart 10. Here - #94 in 2015, looking likely for Top 40 here
Here we've got the two biggest songs of the year and one that'll be in the Top 10, but everything else isn't looking too hot. Wonder what this'll mean for our newer arrivals.
