Accuracy per year:
Daniel Collins (2014) Correct Spot: 40 Top 10: 10/10 Top 100: 96/100 Total Spots Off: 166 Worst Miss: Drink A Beer - 19? (Predicted to be 84 and then missed, impossible to know for sure where it would rank in a top 110 but considering that the songs he MISSED that made it were all predicted 101 to 105 then averaging its estimated finish at 103 seems kinda fair? This is a confusing one)
broccoli (2015) Correct Spot: 19 Top 10: 9/10 Top 100: 98/100 Total Spots Off: 298 Worst Miss: Habits (Stay High) - 12 (Predicted at 65, finished at 77)
georgetherunner314 (2016) Correct Spot: 48 Top 10: 10/10 Top 100: 99/100 Total Spots Off: 79 Worst Miss: Let Me Love You (Predicted at 42, finished at 47. This was because songs 42-46 were all within 4000 points of each other), Starving (Predicted at 89, finished at 94). Both were off by just 5
Snoopdawg (2017) Correct Spot: 20 Top 10: 10/10 Top 100: 98/100 Total Spots Off: 261 Worst Miss: Treat You Better - 16 (Predicted at 76, finished at 92, for some weird reason) Bonus points for being the only person to get #100 right
fhas (2018) Correct Spot: 48 Top 10: 10/10 Top 100: 97/100 Total Spots Off: 143 Worst Miss: Say Something - 9 (Predicted at 94, finished at 85.)
So yeah fhas did pretty great :) I might try and see how close everyone else was too

I'm so happy that I was more accurate than I thought. The song that I had the most doubt about its YE placement was Ric Flair Drip because I had it much higher than the previous predictors but I got RFD exactly at #38. 48/100 is exactly what George had in 2016. He was better in the 51-100 range and I was better in the top 50. so damn happy with God's Plan at #1 and rockstar in the top five! Two of the most legendary rap songs ever! Congratulations on doing such a good prediction and taking over in the middle of the year doing the prediction. It seems that especially at the bottom positions, the older songs seem to have been favored. I mean, after Believer finished its chart run, I had the sense it would be a borderline song that wouldn't make it.

^ Happier was so off because you added the last week which didn't actually end up being counted. Take that out and it's surely much closer (fhas went from 48 to 16 right by adding the last week)

Your weekly rock YTD chart predictor here, and yeah it appears they used the 52-week rule rather than the 53-week rule for this year. As I posted in the Rock YTD charts thread, Billboard's year-end charts are up, and apparently I was one week ahead. (They did not include the November 24 chart) Their chart tallies exactly with my second last update (for November 17), with the exception of Paradise and Chainsmoking swapping spots on AAA, and Halestorm winning their tie with Royal Blood on Active.

Do we have definitive proof that only 52 weeks were counted? I donโt think looking at someoneโs prediction after 52 weeks is enough. Billboard usually releases an article about their Year-End lists every year. In these articles, they usually reveal the weeks at which a particular chart year starts and ends. The Year-End article for this week hasn't been released yet but it might soon enough, so if you want definitive proof on whether or not only 52 weeks were counted, just wait until the article is out. wait, no, the article is already out several hours before I posted this and yes, it is based on charts from the week dated Dec. 2, 2017 to the week dated Nov. 17, 2018. www.billboard.com/articles/events/year-in-music-2018/8488621/drake-top-artist-taylor-swift-reputation-top-album-2018

Do we have definitive proof that only 52 weeks were counted? I donโt think looking at someoneโs prediction after 52 weeks is enough. Yep. Fromย www.billboard.com/articles/events/year-in-music-2018/8488621/drake-top-artist-taylor-swift-reputation-top-album-2018?utm_source=twitterBillboardโs year-end music recaps are based on chart performance on Billboardโs charts dated Dec. 2, 2017, to Nov. 17, 2018. The year-end Top Artists category ranks the best-performing acts of the year based on activity on the Billboard 200 albums tally and the Billboard Hot 100 songs list, as well as streaming, social media and Billboard Boxscore data. Data registered before or after a titleโs chart run is not considered in these standings. That methodology detail, and the December-to-November time period, account for some of the differences between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by Nielsen Music.Yeah I saw that. Interesting.

One of the highlights of the year:Look at how insanely strong this top five was. For three consecutive weeks (Feb. 10-24) it was stagnant because the other songs didn't stand a chance against these monster hits. If you put Meant To Be at #3 then you'll have the YE top 5. Thanks to everyone who did the predictions this year, you guys are all great.
Me personally, Iโm just happy that Powerglide made it in. I did not care about the 3 predicted songs that missed.

When you consider that: - Finesse spent 8 weeks at #3 - It was blocked by the top 2 year end (God's Plan & Perfect) - It hit #1 in all components (streaming, radio, sales) Finesse got pretty unlucky - those 8 weeks at #3 are pretty impressive!

So is Nov. 24 being counted towards 2019 then? That would mean TUN loses only its debut frame. Definitely finishing 2019 YE Top 10 if it holds up well.

ayyy did Sorry Not Sorry make #64 twice? That's only an error from the video. As my memory serves me correct, "Sorry Not Sorry" last year was #47 (which prevented Let Me Love You from ending at the same position from the 2016 and 2017 YE) Last year's #64 was Rae Sremmurd's "Swang".

So is Nov. 24 being counted towards 2019 then? That would mean TUN loses only its debut frame. Definitely finishing 2019 YE Top 10 if it holds up well. I suspect that Nov. 24 data won't be included in any year. It's a nice clean break with data starting on Dec 1, 2018.
My question is what will be the last week to be included in 2019. Because I think if we go to the last chart week of Nov 2019, that will again make for a 53 week year. I suspect they'll instead stick to a 52-week year next year too, meaning the last chart week of 2019 will be week ending Nov 23, 2019, not Nov 30, 2019.
The extraordinary circumstances of two 53-chart years in a row is because of the extra chart inserted at the end of 2017/start of 2018 to get the week-ending date closer to the actual calendar date. It repeats next year because both Dec 1, 2018 and Nov 30, 2019 are Saturdays - the date of the chart.

ayyy did Sorry Not Sorry make #64 twice? That's only an error from the video. As my memory serves me correct, "Sorry Not Sorry" last year was #47 (which prevented Let Me Love You from ending at the same position from the 2016 and 2017 YE) Last year's #64 was Rae Sremmurd's "Swang". Awwww I dreamt it was true haha

That one is pretty much certain at this point.

Don't forget I'm A Mess in the caught between years category. That one is pretty much certain at this point. This is where my 2018 complete chart has an advantage. It uses only songs that peaked in 2018, and will include their complete chart runs. No splitting between years.
On that chart I'm A Mess is #81 for the year, with the possibility of climbing.
