I hope โNever Really Overโ and โboyfriendโ get to sneak in over the more forgettable country and trap songs predicted to make it in the 90s.
I also noticed that many of these songs werenโt necessarily defining hits of the year, but just got lucky to have enough longevity due to a very slow chart turnover. I doubt the general public will be remembering โGo Lokoโ, โTaki Takiโ, โEnvy Meโ, โZEZEโ, โLeave Me Aloneโ, Walk Me Homeโ, โGood As Youโ, or โTalk You Out Of Itโ, just to name a few.

Actually, Walk Me Home was one of my favorite YE songs of the year, speaking personally. What people will remember no doubt depends a lot on their own tastes.

Actually, Walk Me Home was one of my favorite YE songs of the year, speaking personally. What people will remember no doubt depends a lot on their own tastes. Yeah, I was kind of regretting putting โWalk Me Homeโ in here, especially since I rather like it after all and it was quite big in Europe. And yes, youโre absolutely right. For instance, objectively speaking, โHey Look Ma I Made Itโ had very little impact compared to โHigh Hopesโ and it will probably be mostly forgotten by the general public when it comes to the big hits of 2019. However, I have a strong personal preference for it and itโs one of my favorite hit songs of the year. Similarly, urban and country fans might have some fondness for the songs Iโve previously mentioned. I guess what I meant to say is that this Year-End list has a surprisingly low number of instantly recognizable songs for people who arenโt avid chart watchers or music fans, at least compared to previous years. Iโm not from America, though, but thatโs the impression I got. Feel free to correct me. :)

Since I spend most of my time in the US it's hard to know what songs resonate with others, though I have to say that I heard "Someone You Loved" played ad nauseum when I visited Martinique a bit more than a month ago.

But yes, for some people once would be enough.

Wait the chart is coming out in a couple days right? I'm guessing 2nd week of December. They'd want to time it for their year-end issue.

ok so i thought this was interesting
so far, we have had seven songs make a year end without a top 40 peak, those being:
#56 El Perdรณn (2015) #49 IDGAF (2018) #46 Really Really (2016) #43 Dura (2018) #41 X (2018) #41 Both (2017) #41 Wicked (2016)
with Worth It (#48) and Close Friends (#47), that number is guaranteed to increase to at least 9, and assuming that Talk You Out of It (#57, which would break the record for lowest peaking song to make a YE), This Is It (#42), Walk Me Home, and Go Loko (both #49) all make it, it could go up to as much as 13

Didn't it come out at the end of November last year? Looking at the older posts on this thread, it came out on December 4th. Note this was on a Tuesday on the first week of December.

A couple of adjustments to my Nov 30 chart, because I didn't have all the positions of all songs on the chart when I posted last Monday - only the songs that billboardcharts gave the positions for.
The revised chart give HIGHER IN THE ROOM & Ballin' a better chance at getting into the top 100.

isnโt it really weird how few late entries there are into the year end this year? the only songs expected to be on the year end that debuted past July are Hot Girl Summer, Good as Hell, and Circles, and even the former two arenโt 100% confirmed! Lover, On Chill, and Hot all have a slight chance, but basically have their chances tainted by the weakness of Q4 of the chart year, and 10KH/Memories/Highest in the Room/LYTLM all have next to no chance

Last year the only songs debuting after July that made it were Trip, Happier, and Sicko Mode right?
