Kinda shows how weak the cutoff for 2019 is. A song like This Is It or Walk Me Home wouldn't have even made the top 110 in most other years. This Is It and Talk You Out of It DIDN'T make Top 110 in my chart (all scenario), and Walk Me Home just barely didn't made it (in 1 or 2 scenario). This goes to show how stupid my formula is. No worries you did fine. Pretty much no one has This Is It making the 2019 year end list anyways minus fhas/rimetm and I. Walk Me Home and Talk You Out Of It however seems to be more divisive amongst all the predictors on whether or not they will make it. |

a damn shame that Truth Hurts and SeΓ±orita blew up a little too late to be included onto the decade-year end list, although they are guaranteed to place somewhere on the all-time list right? also, am I the only shocked Happier landed in the Top 40, meanwhile Hotline Bling is only at #92? Truth Hurts and Senorita didn't blew up little too late, Billboard was 2 months early with this list. |

I love it: 6 months of song and album speculation for both Adele and Rihanna, that they would drop a single and that would rule the charts...nothing.

Good job Billboard. You somehow ranked We Found Love above Despacito, Rolling in the Deep, Old Town Road and Somebody That I Used to Know. I understand using an inverse system for the all-time charts, but would it really kill you to use the real points to calculate the decade end lists? Well screw it, I finished the top 100 of the 2010 year end superchart, and by the end of the night I should be able to get the full 200 songs. Iβm creating a thread immediately when thatβs over, and Iβll start posting each year end of the decade every weekend until the end of 2019 If you asked me what song was bigger on that list I'd say We Found Love. That song was massive. |

Yet We Found Love is the 6th biggest song of the decade, and Rockstar isnβt even in the top 20.

That song was massive. It may feel massive for it to be #6 of the decade, but that doesn't mean it is. Its split for #69 in 2011 and #8 in 2012 would only be enough for #3 on one single year end list. And if you compare its year end performance with a song that is much smaller by perception like Dynamite (#9 2010, #44 2011), it doesn't feel that massive anymore. Not to mention that, I've seen about 5 versions of the decade end list with real points. Despacito, RITD, and STIUTK have been in the top 10 for all of them, while the highest WFL has been on any one is around #20. |

Wasn't WFL's chart run quite impressive for a 2011 song? 10 weeks at #1, 23 weeks in the top ten. Only Party Rock Anthem spent more time in the top 10 that year (29 weeks). WFL, Call me Maybe and Royals are the only other songs to chart for 23 weeks in the top ten from 2010-2013. 23 weeks back in 2011 wasn't as common as it is now. There were 10 songs alone last year to chart for 23 weeks or more in the top ten. To me WFL at #6 isn't as annoying as seeing Girls like you at #5 and all the other 2018-19 songs ranked so high.

Girls Like You's chart run was also get impressive: 24 weeks in the top 5 and 33 weeks in the top 10. It's the only song in the last two years to do so in the top 5 and one of only two for top 10.
The all time list is designed to give songs with massive chart runs an advantage. This is why both songs are so high on the list.

I'm trying to find 200 songs to fill out a top 200 and the way I'm doing this is I'm calculating points for any song I come across on any Billboard Hot 100 week this year that spent 10 or more weeks in the chart year, then calculating the points of it using my inverse system and if it gets at least 78k (half of what my current projected #100, Eyes on You, has) points then it qualifies for the top 200
but I can't find enough songs that got that many points, even including ones that could reach that threshold within the two coming weeks (Hate Me, Good Vibes, What Happens in a Small Town, Baby Sitter, F.N, Every Little Thing, hot girl bummer, Dance Monkey) so what do I do

"We Found Love" is surprisingly high on the decade chart.
I know it's airplay was massive, but it's digital sales were ~5.2 million when I last checked, which is decent but not record-breaking, so airplay really fueled it's longevity.

Let's see if it has longevity and/or if it manages to climb into the top 20 or top 10. By the time that say, February or March roll around, we should know whether it has enough legs to be a lock. I think that the big holdovers on the chart are going to be easier choices for early locks because they are going to have the chart points to stake out a high position. |
