Was just checking the Billboard charts like I do every week and when I noticed they made a big 26-16 leap on the all genre Billboard 200 I also noticed their album has now been certified Platinum. On the country albums chart, they earned Greatest Gainer honors by having the biggest increase in sales and slid up that chart to No. 4, their peak position.
Congrats to Sugarland and may they continue to sell more.
WARNING: THIS IS A POSITIVE THREAD ONLY!

As I have stated here many times, I don't like these guys but it is great to see something fresh getting a lot of spins and sales. Something More is actually a pretty good song as I hear it about every five minutes.

Ive heard it will be Down In Mississippi. If that's true, it will be the record company trying to milk the CD with the formula songs rather than establishing them as serious, versatile artists. Too bad. "Just Might (Make Me Believe)," "Fly Away," and even "Tennessee" are better tracks. Edited to say that... "Stand Back Up" is also in my "better track" list, but I have no illusions about it ever becoming a radio hit. ~ Jim

Down In Mississippi was my favorite when I got the cd and remains one of my favorites even though I do think there are better choices as singles.

Yes, Down In Mississippi is sched to be their next single as I got that straight from Jennifer when I saw them in concert. I had mentioned to her that I thoght Just Might Make Me Believe should be a single and she stated they are shooting for that as a 4th as since it is still summer they are releasing upbeat.

Something for you Sugarland fans. They'll be co-hosting Lon Helton's Country Countdown USA show this weekend.
From the Country Countdown USA website:
July 30-31: Sugarland's Jennifer & Kristen are Lon's co-host. Third member Kristian Bush is away on paternity leave, since his wife just gave birth to their second child last month. They tell us they shared a dressing room with Faith Hill at the ACM Awards in May. Their debut album just went Platinum. Lots of great stories from this hot new band.

Yeay! I'm glad Down in Mississippi will be the next single. Best song on the record, IMO. (I'm not a big fan of Just Might Make Me Believe.) I'm really excited about all of their success. Hey, I've heard a few speculations that Jennifer might branch off to do a solo career. Has there been any word of this? I will say in their last video, the other two band members were hard to find.

What does the line 'girl you'll remember what your knees are for' mean? Is it like Fancy? We are having a heated debate and must know!

What does the line 'girl you'll remember what your knees are for' mean? Is it like Fancy? We are having a heated debate and must know! I take this line in the song to mean praying. In order to get to the top, the band will have to pay their dues. Even if they're not religious, what they mean is that they have to endure short-term pain (and have faith that they'll get through it) for long-term gain.

I also was curious but have come to the conclusion of begging or praying.

I mentioned earlier that the two ladies of Sugarland are co-hosting Lon Helton's CMT Country Countdown USA show this weekend. If your local radio stations don't carry it you can listen to a webcast of it from this great country station based in England... www.3cdigital.com/default.aspTheir Listen Live link is the small red box in the upper right corner, or you can just use this link: www.3cdigital.com/article.asp?id=17196They support both Real Player and Windows Media. The countdown show is first streamed from that website on Saturday, and then repeated Sunday... Saturday 6am Eastern 5am Central 4am Mountain 3am Pacific Sunday 4pm Eastern 3pm Central 2pm Mountain 1pm Pacific SHeDAISY will co-host the weekend of August 6-7, by the way.
