Very interesting songwriters on this album. Nice to see Trent Tomlinson, and Keith Anderson get writing credits. :)

I'm listening right now and I'm very impressed so far. I still detest "Musta Had A Good Time", but tracks 2-5 are very good. I'm actually hearing quite a bit of banjo in each song so far, and the lyrics/hooks are pretty impressive. "Day Drinkin'" has a really cool groove to it and I think it would make for a great single.
Will update later with more thoughts.

I'm hoping this album is more "Carolina" than "Musta Had A Good Time".

I'm hoping this album is more "Carolina" than "Musta Had A Good Time". You'll have to listen to it when you get the chance. In my opinion, "Musta Had A Good Time" is a big outlier here...none of the other songs sound remotely similar to it.

Just finished listening to this album, and I was pretty impressed. It's not exactly my favorite kind of music, but is still good. The only other song I didn't like was "I'll Bring The Music". Glad to hear a more "Carolina" feel than that first single. My favorites are "Day Drinkin", "Close Your Eyes For This", "Think You Oughta Know That", and "Another Day Gone". All of those could very well be likely singles.

Yeah, I just finished listening as well. "Aberration" is definitely the perfect word for "Musta Had A Good Time". The rest of the album is completely different. I also echo your sentiments, sabre14, in that "I'll Bring The Music" was the only other 'meh' song, but I really pretty much liked everything else quite a bit. "Another Day Gone" is probably my favorite song, although "My Montgomery" is also great. This album has been added to my Christmas list! It's not exactly traditional country, but it's good contemporary country music. These guys are definitely a little on the rock side, but this isn't nearly as loud as I expected it to be. In fact, it's rather toned-down...great production on this album, with lots of banjo and cool guitar grooves. A solid debut effort, and I'd probably give it at least 4 stars out of 5, maybe even 4.5 stars.

"Unavailable from your location". Are you outside the States? Otherwise I can't think why it wouldn't work..

I was a fan going in and was disappointed that some of my favorite songs from concerts didn't make the cut (Can't Tell My Heart What to Do and Take Y'all Home - which is a bonus track). Having said that, and being the only person on the planet who liked MHGT, but doesn't like Day Drinkin', I'm really pleased with this album. I love Already Calling You Mine and Another Day Gone. I think ADG in particular is beautifully placed as the coda to the album and I thought the production was really good (not over done, yet not tinny). I also really like Close Your Eyes For This (song seems to have a good pedigree as well). I think it's pretty radio-friendly. I also like Dance a lot, seems to have a little FGL vibe to it (don't know if that's a good or bad thing). I would have preferred the album to start with I'll Bring the Music. Obvious, yeah, but a fun hooky song that is not polarizing like MHGT. Finally, Back in the Day definitely hits me ... a very sweet song with great lyrics and a really nice vocal.

What a great album! Absolutely didn't expect that. Only 4 average songs for me: Musta, Move, Montgomery & I'll Bring The Music. Day Drinkin' - one of the best country songs in 2013. Even better than Carolina. Close Your Eyes, Dance & Another Day Gone sounds like great future singles to.

I was extremely disappointed when I found out that "Can't Tell Me Heart What to Do" and especially "Barrel of a Shot Glass" (which even got airplay on Sirius XM's The Highway) didn't make the list. After listening to the final product, though, I'm pretty damn impressed. "Another Day Gone" is honestly one of my favorite songs I've heard all year. I can definitely see them making it big in the music industry as both songwriters and performers.

They probably saw the success of "Carolina" and the non success of "Musta Had a Good Time" and decided to fill the album with songs like "Carolina". My opinion. This was on my Christmas list but I actually removed it. Not what I was expecting. Most of this album has been recorded since before "Musta Had A Good Time" was released.

Listened to the iTunes preview and it sounds great, but one song that stood was "Another Day Gone". That sounds outstanding.

If I had to bet, "Day Drinkin" will be the next single. But if "Another Day Gone" is not released then I will forever consider Stoney Creek not good at single picking.

On the sticker at the retail stores, it mentions featuring the songs "Carolina", "Must've Had A Good Time", "Day Drinkin" and "Dance", so that may be an indication for future singles.

The Parmalee song needs to be a single. It's too good. I like Little Big Town more but I've heard the Parmalee song already and it's great, so I really don't want to see a new LBT song impede upon Parmalee's "Day Drinkin'". I'd prefer to see "Sober" stay on the charts for a while.

^ With "Sober" still on the upswing, I could see it going good into 2014. So I think that Parmalee would beat them to the punch anyway. "Day Drinkin' is my pick for the next single as well. It would peak in spring or even early summer. It makes too much sense.

I'm thinking "Day Drinkin'" will be the next single, followed by "Another Day Gone", then "Back In The Day".

Little Big Town is announcing all this stuff about new music really early (even in the press release it indicates that "Sober" isn't over just yet), but I can't seem them not releasing "Day Drinkin" after all the hype they're giving and the early planning, so even if Parmalee's next single bears that title, I think we could wind up with some overlap between the two on the charts. We'll just have to see how it all plays out, but it's an interesting timing situation to say the least.

In regards to Day Drinkin.....it sounds like a song LBT would sing. Wouldn't be shocked if the LBT Song was the Parmalee song.

Feels Like Carolina enters the country albums chart at #10 after 14,000 were sold. Congratulations, Parmalee!

Seems like a bit of a softer debut than I had anticipated.

Seems like a bit of a softer debut than I had anticipated. That sentiment has been echoed on Twitter a lot today, as well.
