Here are the extras on the Best Buy dvd:
# "Paisley Vision" — a sincere and sometimes humorous look at the concert with Brad # "Guitar Buffet" — take a tour of Brad's collection of guitars # "Muddier on the Tires" — a new muddier video for the hit "Mud on the Tires" # "Spaghetti Western" — an animated video by Brad himself

I will be buying the album and I love Brad. He is my favorite after Tim but I think that is LOW when an artist has different versions with different tracks and extras from different stories.
That to me is taking advantage of the fans, and I EXPECTED better from Brad. What is a fan do that wants all the extras go buy different copies from different stores.
That brings him down a level in my book, is he only after the money, and sales. Why not have one album with all that you are offering on it available for all at all stores.
I have the same problem when an artist rereleases an album with extras.
Sorry to hear this about Brad.

Don't go off on the artist. This is a marketing scheme between the label and the chains. Each chain brings something different to evoke sales. The other factor is some people refuse to shop at certain places. But by offering exclusives, you may bring them into the store. This isn't an idea from the artist, I'm sure. It's all marketing.

I will say in Brad's defense that these extras look worth the effort to go get them. 4 extra songs is really good I think on a CD that already has 16 tracks. I would have liked more videos on the Walmart dvd but I guess 5 isn't too bad--as long as Whiskey Lullaby is included I'll be happy.
If it was one extra song at different stores then I think that is bit lousy and unfair to the fans.

I am not bashing Brad like I said he is one of my favorites and I own all his album and will be buying this one on the first day.
It is still WRONG, WRONG IMO. It is cheating the fans and making them buy more . Like i said if I want the extras I have to buy more than one copy and not only will I get the extras but I will also get copies of what I already have on the other Cd's and such. IT IS WRONG.
IMO it started with Garth and his Live album. He had 7 different pictures on the album, and I know plenty of people including my sister that bought all 7 copies for just 7 different pictures. The botom line all it did was increased his sales and his pocketbook. It is dirty to the fans. Not everybody can afford to buy the Cd again and again just to get a couple extra songs.
I applaud artist that DON'T do this and don't scam the fans by doing this.

Being a student at Belmont and taking marketing and other business-related classes....I can tell you that this was not Brad's idea. Whether or not Brad agrees with these business tactics is something that none of us are sure of....so please don't question Brad's character or morals.

I am not questioning Brad like I said I LOVE BRAD"S MUSIC. I am questioning the label and whoever is responsible for this trend. I say all I need is putting 14-15 quality songs on the album is all I need.
This is a growing trend and I don't like it. Look how many times Gretchen rereleased her album or how about Alan's GH album, I had too buy two copies to get the extras.
I just don't agree, release what you want on the album from the beginning and make it the same for all stores, don't put additional versions at different stores, or don't rerelease it a couple months later with soemthing more. I refuse to buy into that.

Why not have one album with all that you are offering on it available for all at all stores. Sure sounds like you're questioning Brad And the exclusives were on the first released copies of Alan's GH, so why did you have to buy two? And I like Garth's idea of different covers--collector's items. And I am shocked you haven't mentioned released different versions of the same album, which is also cool because you get different takes on the songs.

I am not questioning Brad, but I don't like this trend, it forces you to buy something twice just for a few extra things. I don't like it and I know plenty of people that don't. Maybe you want to waste your money for a few extra songs when the all the rest of the material is the same but I don't.

It doesnt FORCE you to do anything. So what if you don't like it?? The world doesn't revolve around you and your beloved timmy and brad.

No it doesn't force anybody but the labels and marketing people know the very loyal fans will buy it for the few extra songs, and that by that the label is taking advantage of the most loyal fans of an artist. I just don't like the trend.
So what do have against Brad? Don't tell me you don't like him either. Too me he is one of the brightest lights for the future of country music. I just adore his music and his stand on his music and the quality.

This is a reason i dont get cd's anymore...i just download the singles for $0.99...i know people say im missing great unreleased songs...but id rather spend $70 and get 70 songs that i all like rather than spend $70 and get only 7 cds from only 7 artists.

I think the the downloading of singles and being able to pick and choose is defintley the future of music.
Kinda sad though since I come form the days of album in the 60's and 70's where even the cover was a piece of art.

XM will premiere this Friday at 5 central. It will be great to hear Brad's take on the album.
On the exclusive thing... Rascal Flatts did the same thing and after a while put the exclusive songs from each different cd up on their website so fans could here them. That way you can decide if it's worth buying another copy. I will be buying one from somewhere and I will look for the extras on the net somewhere.

I wonder if "College" will be the same version as the one on Pat's Lucky Ones cd, where Pat sings the 1st verse, and Brad the 2nd.

At first I didn't realize that the DVD that Best Buy had did not come with the CD, but I see that it is a separate purchase. But you do get $2 off the DVD (which is on sale for $11.98) if you purchase it with the CD.
But you don't need to buy the CD at Best Buy, so you don't need to buy the CD to get the DVD. Then you can get always get the CD at Target or Wal-Mart to get the extras they sell there (that only come with the purchase of the CD). So you have a choice of 4 extra songs or a DVD with 5 videos on it (and some extras).
If you're a die-hard fan and need both, at least you're only paying an extra $10, and you could say that the DVD with the 5 videos would have retailed for that much anyway.
The strange thing about the DVD at Best Buy is that it didn't list the songs that Brad sang in the hour-long concert. It showed the extras (as shown in a previous post) and then mentioned that there was an acoustic version of "Alcohol" (shown on the front cover), but nowhere did it list the actual songs that you would be getting. I guess they're thinking if you like Brad, you'll buy it without knowing the tracks. They were right with me, but I would think most people would want to know what they're getting before they make a purchase for $12.
Even after you open the DVD, there's no booklet inside, so I won't know until I go home tonight and throw it in the DVD player what I actually will be getting. If anyone else has it already and knows and would like to post the info, I'd appreciate it.

mizzouhillbilly - thanks for the info on the concert DVD. Sounds pretty good. I wasn't expecting 16 songs - much more than I had hoped for. Looks like it was worth the small investment.

Picked this one up at Target for the songs, can't wait to listen to it. So did I! So far, from what I have heard, it is amazing. I skipped over to the intrumental song to see what the hype was all about over that song. I now see why everyone was talking abou it. Could ANYONE even dance to that? LOL.

Picked up my copy at Wal- Mart today. It was in the DVD section because of the way it was packaged. That sucks but I was wondering why they didn't just add the DVD stuff to the disc and just package it like a regular CD? Glad to see Waitin' On A Woman on the sticker on the cover. This should be the next single and will be a huge song for Brad. Also read where someone thought that She's Everything To Me would be the smash ballad from the album but in my opinion Rainin' You is SO much better. I can't get enough of that song.

The first week sales totals are in and Brad ends up at #1 on the Country Charts and #2 on BB's main album chart. The #1 album on the BB Top 200 goes to Hilary Duff with a Greatest Hits Collection.
The #'s for Brad were quite impressive compared to the totals that he had for "Mud on the Tires". Hilary was #1 selling 208,000 copies of her CD while Brad was #2 with 193,000 units sold.
This is Brad's 2nd country #1 ("Mud on the Tires" was the first), but it is his highest ranking on the main BB chart, as Mud on the Tires peaked at #8.
Also, Brad's first week's sales for "Mud on the Tires" came in at 86,000 units, so he more than doubled the totals for his first week compared to his previous album release.
Maybe some people bought copies at both Target and Wal-Mart...

It's the best $9.99 I've spent this year at Target; 16 songs, four bonus tracks, and an instant contender alongside Lee Ann Womack and Trace Adkins for best CD of the year.
There are SO many potential smash singles on this CD, it's really terrific!!!!!!
