It's sad that divas are really struggling these days, in most genres. The ones that are doing well (both new and established) are very few, unfortunately. What's more sad is that most of the non-singers can't even perform much better than the divas, and that would be the only real excuse for a star singer with a lack of singing ability, imo.

The "divas" like Whitney, Mariah, Christina and Celine all had divine voices at one point or another.

If I had it my way, so many more divas would be getting more attention, and it's sad that people have moved on from amazingly talented ladies.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but it also seems like artists like Christina, Mariah, etc get a lot more flack once their voices start to go, as if that's the only thing they ever had to offer in the first place.

There are a lot of divas I wouldn't praise as performers, but there are a lot of pop artists I wouldn't praise as singers or performers LOL.

Every artist has different talents, but IMO vocals are almost put by the wayside now.

Considering Pop has some of the best vocalists ever, it's sad to see how the tides have changed.

WITH Christina Aguilera unavailable, American band A Great Big World will be relying on the audience to sing her part when they play their global smash hit Say Something in Sydney tonight.

“We love performing it but it has kind of taken on a life of its own so sometimes when we sing it, it does feel like we are covering Say Something. I think Christina is about to have a baby. It’s amazing the crowd does Christina’s part so well. It is a really amazing moment in the show.”

Axel added: “I haven’t felt comfortable singing it with someone else besides Christina.”

It is ashame that vocals are passe in Pop music. That's what I hate about today's current Pop artists is the lack of vocal proficiency (besides musicality and lyrics). Bruno Mars, Sia and Adele are the only new Pop stars that I support for that reason, all my other favorites debuted in 2005 or before. I'm glad that article paid respect to En Vogue, my favorite girl group.

Back To Basics is such a masterpiece. These vocals give me eternal life everytime!! I would love for her to revisit that style on her next album. With Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars popularizing live instrumentation in Pop again, this would be the perfect time for Christina to do it. Throw in some ballads like Say Something or Adele inspired and Aguilera is good to GO!! She wouldn't have to do the whole vintage image, just be a current day diva with some well placed back up singers so she doesn't have to do too much straining and she could be back in a nice way.

I miss her on the scene and I miss the quality that she always has in her lyrics. Legendtina :'(

I miss Christina slating the scene so much. Last year was such as a tease and while I'm glad she's having a babygrl I'm praying for a studio album 4Q. It's likely it'll be next summer at this point but I really miss her live performances. Her jazz set was amazing!!!

I don't get what the big fuss over these photos is. Christina is beautiful and about to have a baby which is a beautiful time in a woman's/couples life. nobody complained when the thin maternity blouse Faith Hill wore to the 2001 country Music Association awards turned Sheer when flashbulbs hit it and she was seven months pregnant with her youngest daughter Audrey Caroline at that point
