She better be recording an album during this quarantine. I know she said the Spanish one was coming but that felt like so long ago.

Me too! I was so looking forward to catching her on tour with Leona Lewis. I know it would have been epic. Oh that's right! Leona was going to join her... I was so bummed, I think I've blocked it all out. Also, a little over a year ago, I saw Christina in Paris... What a difference a year makes... now I can't even leave this stupid country! I forget what excuse her team gave at the time as to why the tour was canceled, but the show dates and venues had already been announced and everything. My friend and I purchased tickets to see the MSG show, and we were so stoked about it. It would have been my first Christina tour experience. :'( I remember being really excited about Leona opening for her too, because she had such a beautiful voice and I enjoyed a lot of her songs. I thought it was awesome that Christina chose to select a relatively new and budding female vocalist at the time, that shared many of the same vocal influences as herself and drew very similar comparisons to what she did earlier in her career. That tour would have been amazing exposure for Leona, and I'm sure that she really appreciated the opportunity from Christina, even if it sadly didn't pan out in the end.

I think I had tickets for Jones Beach and the reason for the cancellation was Burlesque reshoots... yeah, it would have been great to see Leona.

Top 3 (maybe #1 for me) single of her career. A perfect pop song.
I remember reading about the radio remix debuting and sitting in my Dad’s place with a blank cassette in the stereo deck waiting for it to come on the radio lol.
I about lost my mind hearing the new version. I think I still have that cassette in storage!

I remember Making The Video did a preview of the video in early June and she was one of the LAST episodes that summer. I believe it aired late July. Back then, you didn't hear the song until the video came out. I loved it!!

These kids won't know the rush of waiting for your favorite song on the radio. That was an art and a sport to me lol At some point I had several cassettes ready. Depending on the radio station or the song I’d hear announced, I’d switch. Rock, oldies, pop, Latin, remixes, AC. Then having good pulse to either press pause at the right time or slow down the volume to make sure the fade-out works well and there’s no tracing of the upcoming song. Oh, those years!!! Anyway. Regarding COO, this is THE definitive version to me. That was the version that got popular in radio and TV back home and the version I liked the most. A multi-week #1 in my personal Latin chart, and I really like it more than either English version :) youtu.be/elOCH3vcZFM

The summer of 2001... my 7 year old gay self cried countless times that whenever I turned on the radio I only ever caught the end of “Bootylicious” or “Lady Marmalade”. I think it took me until the end of August to catch them both on cassette tape in full.

I remember they showed the video on Nickelodeon as well, but they skipped out the part where she was singing "your sexuality" and when Jorge was pulling down her zipper. Nickelodeon wanted to keep it kid friendly for its young viewers. Lmao.

Yeah Come On Over is still so f**king good Possibly my favorite from Xtina too
Also I decided to revisit Back To Basics, currently at Oh Mother I still hate that this wasn't as huge an era as it should have been So many great songs and the overall themes and sounds of the record were fantastic

Back to Bionic for a second......Did WooHoo flop? Or was it pulled as a single? I remember it was released after NMT. Or was it just a promo single?
I'm listening to her This Is playlist on Spotify, and I have so many great memories linked to her music. Does anyone remember when she appeared on Soul Train?? She performed So Emotional and something else.

Ohh idk. Anything up against Bionic is stiff competition.
Although I always loved “Without You” and “On Our Way”. Incredible vocals

I loved the song at the time, it's fun. Haven't heard it in a minute.

Woohoo was serviced to Rhythmic as the second single and then they pulled it in favor of YLM a month later.

It better make her feel like getting in the studio and getting that new album out before the next decade.

I mean drop SOMETHING. But I digress. I hope she can step up her visuals next era. Her last great video was YB or Say Something.

Have she and Cardi interacted much before, or could this be a sign that Christina will be on Cardi's next album?

I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before, but Change is still an awesome song. They dropped the ball with that one.
