The newer generation doesn’t really know her and the promo was just weak. And the generation that grew up with her is the generation that hates reggaeton (me included). She did everything wrong I guess. It was Christina's long awaited Spanish album followup to "Mi Reflejo",Christina is just aiming for her core audience with that album and not aiming for younger audiences like Gwen Stefani tries to do. Christina fans were awaiting this followup since early in her career and the songs were minor success in the Latin community. Read my comment again, you will find the answer as to why the songs didn’t make a big impact. |

Christina is with Roc Nation for management and I think she is still signed with RCA Records.

She is definitely still with Sony/RCA. Her (Latin GRAMMY-winning) Spanish album was released last year through Sony Latin. I don't think there's any actual info for how many albums she still has on her contract available to the public, but I sure hope she can make the jump somewhere else eventually. Roc Nation has been doing a phenomenal job getting her gigs over the past 2 years... Commercial success is a long shot at this point and I'm sure she has enough control in her career that she's going to promote/make the music she wants regardless of label attachment... but anything to shake things up is welcome.
"Liberation" came and went over 5 years ago (the 2x GRAMMY nods were a pleasant surprise at least). It's time for new music and although it's a long shot, PLEASE give us a full fledged R&B album. Something wholly cohesive. This is where she shines the most ("Impossible," "Understand," "Loving Me 4 Me, "Without You" etc etc et). "Liberation" has its bright spots, but like a lot of her other albums, is bogged down by too many ideas without a precise vision. She needs new A&R stat.

Her head voice ahhhhhh its so gorgeous. I'm meh on the song overall 1 verse and 2 chorus's constituting as a song now will never sit right with me but glad her etheral tone is still alive and strong.
