Surprised at some of those losses; Christmas Eve is out of the mix, and that's one of the days with the biggest holiday airplay. New Year's Eve, though. Notice all the big gains were old hits. Year end countdowns and such. |

I feel like, due to Timber losing airplay and Counting Stars gaining a bit of airplay this week and the advantage in sales and streaming for Timber over Counting Stars diminishing, Counting stars will reach a new peak of #2 this week and Timber will drop down to #3 for now...I could be wrong though.
Here is my prediction for the top 10 for 1/11/14:
1. The Monster
2. Counting Stars
3. Timber
4. Say Something
5. Let Her Go
6. Royals
7. Demons
8. Wake Me Up
9. Wrecking Ball
10. Roar (due to year-end radio charts pushing its airplay figures up)
with Dark Horse at 11 or 12 and to likely reach the top ten the week of 1/18/14

I feel like, due to Timber losing airplay and Counting Stars gaining a bit of airplay this week and the advantage in sales and streaming for Timber over Counting Stars diminishing, Counting stars will reach a new peak of #2 this week and Timber will drop down to #3 for now...I could be wrong though. Here is my prediction for the top 10 for 1/11/14: 1. The Monster 2. Counting Stars 3. Timber 4. Say Something 5. Let Her Go 6. Royals 7. Demons 8. Wake Me Up 9. Wrecking Ball 10. Roar (due to year-end radio charts pushing its airplay figures up) with Dark Horse at 11 or 12 and to likely reach the top ten the week of 1/18/14 That looks good, but I do see "Story of My Life" staying in the top 10. Now, about "Counting Stars". It's definitely looking like a strong possibility that it will hit the #1 spot for a week. "The Monster"'s airplay is going to start falling when the freeze ends, and that should allow "Counting Stars" to take over atop radio songs for a bit. And, if it still has a radio advantage over "Timber" by the time it passes "The Monster", the stars will align (pun intended) for OneRepublic to have their first #1 on the Hot 100. |

Christmas Day was removed from the rolling period- between that, year-end countdowns, AC radio returning to non-holiday play, etc., yep, all gains.
Those updates would be for the first day of tracking for the 1/18 chart.

"Timber" will be ahead in sales and streaming well enough for it to still be ahead overall. Their airplay gap isn't that big.

Over on the Digital Songs chart, Pitbull’s "Timber," featuring Ke$ha, retakes the No. 1 slot—up one rung—with 442,000 (up 108%). Last week's leader, A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera's "Say Something," slides to No. 4 with 355,000 (up 49%). Every title on the 50-position Digital Songs chart has a sales gain this week—not surprising, as consumers redeemed digital gift cards after the Christmas holiday. And, of those 50 songs, only four gain by less than 100%. (In total, digital song sales were up by 98% compared with the previous week.) OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" rises 4-3 with 408,000 (up 143%) while Lorde's "Royals" is up 6-5 with 302,000 (up 172%). Imagine Dragons' "Demons" jumps 9-6 with 291,000 (up 184%); Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, is steady at No. 7 with 285,000 (up 158%); and Passenger's "Let Her Go" dips 5-8 with 279,000 (up 107%). One Direction's "Story of My Life" falls 8-9 with 262,000 (up 138%,) and Perry's "Roar" returns to the top 10, up three rungs to No. 10, with 258,000 (up 230%). This week, which reflects the busy post-Christmas shopping period, 10 songs sold more than 200,000 downloads. Apparently someone forgot to out in The Monster On a side note, I think CS has a chance at #2 or even #1 come next week. but how? I don't think it's a GREAT chance, but if it keeps gaining on radio, and Timber's updates continue to be small, along with Timber falling a little on digital songs, and with some help from streaming if course, THEN CS has a chance :) Like I said, not an amazing chance. But I'm really hoping it keeps Timber from #1. |

LOL at Dark Horse being platinum already. Damn Unconditionally for breaking the platinum streak of Katy. I think Unconditionally will eventually reach platinum. It's not exactly tumbling down iTunes. |
