Surprised at some of those losses; Christmas Eve is out of the mix, and that's one of the days with the biggest holiday airplay. New Year's Eve, though. Notice all the big gains were old hits. Year end countdowns and such.

I feel like, due to Timber losing airplay and Counting Stars gaining a bit of airplay this week and the advantage in sales and streaming for Timber over Counting Stars diminishing, Counting stars will reach a new peak of #2 this week and Timber will drop down to #3 for now...I could be wrong though. Here is my prediction for the top 10 for 1/11/14: 1. The Monster 2. Counting Stars 3. Timber 4. Say Something 5. Let Her Go 6. Royals 7. Demons 8. Wake Me Up 9. Wrecking Ball 10. Roar (due to year-end radio charts pushing its airplay figures up) with Dark Horse at 11 or 12 and to likely reach the top ten the week of 1/18/14

I really hope to see Burn hit the top 10! Really catchy tune and I love Ellie's voice!

Now, about "Counting Stars". It's definitely looking like a strong possibility that it will hit the #1 spot for a week. "The Monster"'s airplay is going to start falling when the freeze ends, and that should allow "Counting Stars" to take over atop radio songs for a bit. And, if it still has a radio advantage over "Timber" by the time it passes "The Monster", the stars will align (pun intended) for OneRepublic to have their first #1 on the Hot 100.

I'm curious as to why Blurred Lines is gaining so slowly. It should be the year end number one on every countdown on every format. I was hoping for some 4-5 million updates 9. KATY PERRY – Roar: 90.117 (+ 5.061) 20. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE – Mirrors: 65.242 (+ 4.978) 18. ROBIN THICKE – Blurred Lines f/Pharrell/T.I.: 66.767 (+ 4.385) ▲
Yay.

Christmas Day was removed from the rolling period- between that, year-end countdowns, AC radio returning to non-holiday play, etc., yep, all gains.
Those updates would be for the first day of tracking for the 1/18 chart.

"Timber" will be ahead in sales and streaming well enough for it to still be ahead overall. Their airplay gap isn't that big.

Over on the Digital Songs chart, Pitbull’s "Timber," featuring Ke$ha, retakes the No. 1 slot—up one rung—with 442,000 (up 108%). Last week's leader, A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera's "Say Something," slides to No. 4 with 355,000 (up 49%). Every title on the 50-position Digital Songs chart has a sales gain this week—not surprising, as consumers redeemed digital gift cards after the Christmas holiday. And, of those 50 songs, only four gain by less than 100%. (In total, digital song sales were up by 98% compared with the previous week.) OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" rises 4-3 with 408,000 (up 143%) while Lorde's "Royals" is up 6-5 with 302,000 (up 172%). Imagine Dragons' "Demons" jumps 9-6 with 291,000 (up 184%); Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, is steady at No. 7 with 285,000 (up 158%); and Passenger's "Let Her Go" dips 5-8 with 279,000 (up 107%). One Direction's "Story of My Life" falls 8-9 with 262,000 (up 138%,) and Perry's "Roar" returns to the top 10, up three rungs to No. 10, with 258,000 (up 230%). This week, which reflects the busy post-Christmas shopping period, 10 songs sold more than 200,000 downloads. To compare, a year ago, in the week ending Dec. 30, 2012, there were 17 songs that sold at least 200,000. (It's not a completely apples-to-apples comparison, since the week in 2012 had one extra day of post-Christmas day sales versus2013.) www.billboard.com/articles/news/5855135/beyonce-leads-for-third-week-at-no-1-on-billboard-200-chartOverall album sales in this past chart week (ending Dec. 29) totaled 9.4 million units, down 11% compared with the sum last week (10.6 million) and down 3% compared with the comparable sales week of 2012 (9.8 million). This past week was the final week of 2013, and album sales finished the year at 289.4 million—down 8% compared with 2012 (316 million). Digital track sales this past week totaled 43.1 million downloads, up 98% compared with last week (21.8 million) and down 23% stacked next to the comparable week of 2012 (55.7 million). There were 1.26 billion tracks sold in 2013, down 6% compared to 2012's haul (1.34 billion).

I don't think it's a GREAT chance, but if it keeps gaining on radio, and Timber's updates continue to be small, along with Timber falling a little on digital songs, and with some help from streaming if course, THEN CS has a chance :) Like I said, not an amazing chance. But I'm really hoping it keeps Timber from #1.

www.billboard.com/articles/news/5855137/eminem-rihanna-rule-hot-100-for-a-fourth-week-miley-cyrus-returnsEminem, Rihanna Rule Hot 100 for a Fourth Week; Miley Cyrus Returns 'The Monster' rules for a fourth week, granting Rihanna another piece of chart history. Plus, Miley Cyrus re-enters at No. 22 with new single 'Adore You,' which bows atop the Streaming Songs chart Eminem and featured artist Rihanna tally a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "The Monster," which fends off Pitbull and Ke$ha's "Timber" at No. 2, also for a fourth week. With her continued reign, Rihanna moves into sole possession of the third-most total weeks at No. 1 (51) in the chart's history. Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus re-enters the Hot 100 at No. 22 with "Adore You," the follow-up to her first No. 1, "Wrecking Ball." The new single concurrently starts atop the Streaming Songs chart following the Dec. 26 premiere of its video. As always, let's dig deeper into the numbers behind the Hot 100's top 10. Rihanna's 13th No. 1 and Eminem's fifth leader holds at the Hot 100's summit, posting a fourth week atop the Radio Songs airplay chart. It slips by 7% to 136 million in all-format audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. On Digital Songs, which it led for three weeks, "Monster" rebounds 3-2 with 433,000 downloads sold (up 124%), according to Nielsen SoundScan; all titles on the 50-position Digital Songs chart gain this week, as consumers redeemed digital gift cards after Christmas. (Total digital song sales rise by 98% from the previous week.) "Monster" falls to No. 2 after a week atop Streaming Songs (4.7 million U.S. streams, down 38%, according to BDS) and drops 1-2 after six weeks at No. 1 on the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (1.6 million, down 25%). As "Monster" marks four weeks atop the Hot 100, Rihanna collects her 51st career week at the summit, pushing her past Boyz II Men (50 weeks) for the third-most weeks spent at No. 1 in the chart's 55-year history. Mariah Carey leads with 79 total weeks at No. 1 (via 18 toppers), followed by the Beatles (59 frames from 20 No. 1s). Usher rounds out the top five with 47 weeks at No. 1, thanks to nine leaders. "Monster" spends a ninth week at No. 1 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Rap Songs charts. It leads the Rhythmic radio-based list for a fifth week and Pop Songs and Rap Airplay for a fourth week each. The song holds off Pitbull's "Timber," featuring Ke$ha, for a fourth week. "Timber" returns for a third week atop Digital Songs (2-1; 442,000, up 108%), but descends 4-6 on Streaming Songs (4.4 million, down 15%) and 5-6 on Radio Songs (100 million, down 3%). While Eminem and Rihanna maintain their lead on the Hot 100, Pitbull and Ke$ha climb closer in overall chart points. A week ago, a 17% difference in points separated the songs. This week, with "Monster" up by 31% and "Timber," 46%, the margin shrinks to 6%, the closest between the songs yet. The Hot 100's top three songs remain in place from last week, with OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" at No. 3 for a fourth frame, adding Digital Gainer honors. "Stars" shoots 4-3 on Digital Songs (408,000, up 143%), holds at No. 2 on Radio Songs for a third week (131 million, down 1%) and dips 7-10 on Streaming Songs (3.8 million, down 16%). Lorde's former nine-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Royals" rises 5-4 (and leads Hot Rock Songs for an 18th week), swapping spots with A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera's "Say Something" (4-5). Still, the latter title lifts 16-14 on Radio Songs (54 million, up 8%) and gains by 49% to 355,000 downloads, despite falling 1-4 on Digital Songs. On Streaming Songs, "Something" slides 6-11 (3.6 million, down 22%). Imagine Dragons' "Demons" stays at its No. 6 Hot 100 peak, while Passenger's "Let Her Go" likewise holds at its No. 7 highpoint. Katy Perry returns to the Hot 100's top 10 with her former two-week No. 1 "Roar" (11-8), which claims top Airplay Gainer accolades, rebounding 13-10 on Radio Songs (64 million, up 18%). The song is one of several 2013 smashes that gain in airplay, benefitting from spins on stations' year-end countdowns and retrospectives. Also resurging on Radio Songs: Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell (25-18), Capital Cities' "Safe and Sound" (39-27) and Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" (a re-entry at No. 46). Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, One Direction's No. 6-peaking "Story of My Life" rises 10-9 and Avicii's No. 4 hit "Wake Me Up!" tumbles 8-10. The latter track tops Dance/Electronic Songs for a record-extending 17th week. Outside the Hot 100's top tier, Miley Cyrus soars with her new single, "Adore You," which re-enters at No. 22. (It first spent two sales-fueled weeks on the chart, at Nos. 42 and 79 in October/November, coinciding with the first two chart weeks of Billboard 200-topping parent album "Bangerz.") With its sensual video having premiered on YouTube Dec. 26 (a day after it leaked online), "Adore" rockets onto Streaming Songs at No. 1 with 7 million U.S. streams, 82% of which stem from Vevo on YouTube views. Since the chart launched the week of Jan. 26, 2013, just three other songs have started at the top: Baauer's "Harlem Shake," PSY's "Gentleman" and Lady Gaga's "Dope." Cyrus also ranks at No. 2 on Streaming Songs with "Wrecking Ball" (6.9 million, up 8%), becoming the second act to monopolize the chart's top two. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis doubled up at Nos. 1 and 2 the weeks of May 11 and 18 with "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us," respectively. She's additionally the first artist to collect three No. 1s on Streaming Songs (passing PSY, with two). "We Can't Stop" and "Ball" share the record for the longest stays atop the chart: 11 weeks each. On the Hot 100, "Ball" drops (fittingly, this New Year's week) 9-12. Visit Billboard.com tomorrow (Jan. 3), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety and Digital Songs, Radio Songs, Streaming Songs and On-Demand Songs, will refresh. (Note: With New Year's Day affecting chart processing schedules, all charts will update on Billboard.com on Friday this week.)

LOL at Dark Horse being platinum already. Damn Unconditionally for breaking the platinum streak of Katy. I think Unconditionally will eventually reach platinum. It's not exactly tumbling down iTunes.
