The one and only album ever recorded by Groove Theory, although Amel and Bryce have supposedly been working on a new album together over the past few years. Regarded as one of the earliest albums in the neo-soul genre, following Brown Sugar by just a few months. Although Groove Theory never released another album, Amel's solo material always felt like a natural progression to me. They also recorded a couple soundtrack cuts ("It's Alright" for the Sunset Park soundtrack and "Never Enough" for the Love Jones soundtrack-- both excellent).
The album spawned the Top 5 Hot 100 hit "Tell Me" (also #3 R&B) and minor R&B hits "Keep Tryin'" and "Baby Luv" (assisted by a popular remix that sampled Slave's "Just A Touch Of Love").
One of my favorite albums of the 90s. "DiDJa Know" is my favorite from the album, followed by "10 Minute High".

I never had a chance to listen to whole album but Tell Me is one of my favorite R&B songs EVER. Amel's voice is pure bliss.
