Love that he did "All I Ask" as a 90s Quiet Storm track instead of piano only, but the vocals were tragic. I never realized before that his and Adele's ranges are so similar. Those two wrote that song in a key that sits the chorus at the very top of their chest range and then said 'what the hell, let's throw in a key change that takes us past that range. Hit the notes or die trying!" He was sweating like crazy by the end of it. I did enjoy the 90s take on it though. His satin short suit in the RS shoot is amazingly ridiculous and ridiculously amazing. Versace on the Floor's lyrics are terribad in the best of ways. "let's just kiss till we're naked" is the new "we can do it till we both wake up" and I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be laughing while listening to it, but does it matter if I still like it? Question existing. Girl you know that new song is a mess lyrically. He tried it.

Personally, I don't care about his lyrics. He can sing about anything he wants and get away with it.

I don't see any issues with the lyrics. They're spot on and tone perfect for the influences he's channeling. I've gotten some of my biggest laughs listening to music from 80's and 90's sex jams (seriously, Keith Sweat, Silk, Johnny Gill, R. Kelly, etc. F**KING HILARIOUS). What's important is that it's sincere and they're selling it. And he does.

If we're going to talk R. Kelly, 12 Play is the true patron saint of "how did we let this fly?" lyrics!

Damn he's really keeping this s**t under lock and key He really does, doesn't he? I mean.... I kinda expected it but it seems he took it to the next level when he fired Bradon Creed. He's been here and there in Europe this past wk, but he gave only one televised interview so far:

I enjoy the album a lot. It's certainly his most cohesive. That said, I think he's going to struggle after the lead single. Every single track sounds straight out of 80s Urban radio. I think "24K Magic" is going to have a high burn rate after it peaks, and releasing another 80s post-disco/funk/boogie track is not going to help to turn the burn around. I don't even know what I think he should release next. They should be making more of an effort to market him to Urban and Urban AC with "24K Magic".

This album is v. solid, but the production is almost too on the nose. Nothing jumps out at me as 'single!' though there are definitely songs that jump out as immediate favorites (Calling All My Lovelies, Finesse). (edit: Literally everything Jazzy just said) Then again Treasure and UF! certainly didn't sound like anything on radio at the time and they did fine so maybe I shouldn't overthink it. Also lol there are ballads on this album. SMH you ain't gots to lie to kick it Bruno! Ok that's all I'll say for now b/c I'm sure there are others, unlike me, who have patience and don't want to be spoiled until Friday. I'm going to get the physical for this. Offical C. Rose stamp of approval

Every single track sounds straight out of 80s Urban radio. I have not listened to anything other than "24K Magic", and I'm expecting to love it based on your comments.

I like the album, I like it a lot, but I'm missing the variety he had on UJ. 😕 I can't pick singles either.

Oh shieeet, you don't even know how much will power it costs me to wait fo Friday. But I gotta do it. I have an entire weekend reserved for that cute lil' album. Btw it jumped to #1 in album pre-orders after it leaked. Coincidence? I don't think so...
