BILLBOARD: Bruno Mars and Manager Brandon Creed Part Ways

During the nine years the two worked together, the singer won four Grammys, notched six No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and played two Super Bowls.

Bruno Mars and longtime manager Brandon Creed have split, Billboard has learned.

Creed, whose company The Creed Co. also represents Mark Ronson and Sara Bareilles, had worked with Mars for nine years, during which the singer won four Grammys (including record of the year in 2016 for "Uptown Funk"), notched six No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and played two Super Bowls.

According to an insider, Mars, who has sold 5.04 million albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music, is believed to be starting his own operation and likely to bring management in-house.

Creed, who is based in Los Angeles, was ranked at No. 62 on the 2016 Billboard Power 100.

Billboard has reached out to Creed and Mars' label, Atlantic Records, for comment.

Bruno made a surprise appearance on Jane The Virgin. He sang one of his very old demos - Rest of my Life. Originally, he wrote it in 2006 for an unspecified TV show in Australia. He never performed it live before.

According to inside sources at Atlantic Records, Mars is in the studio recording an album for November release.

...the alleged reasons beyond Mars' sudden spit w/ menager Brandon Creed:

(1) Creed had gotten a fee from CAA to bring Mars over and not disclosed it to the artist.
(2)Creed received elephant bucks for the prior sale of his management company and didn’t share the wealth with his clients for that either.

According to brunomars.com Bruno is currently under GORILLA MENAGEMENT.

Considering Mars' obsession w/ gorillas and monkeys in general... It could actually mean that Bruno menages himself.
I'd be yet another bold move from him...

We’ve been working on it for about a year, trying different ideas and experimenting. I don’t know what’s going to be included in the final version, but it’s going to have a new sound, and so far the material is very groove-oriented. It’ll be out sometime this year, and then we’ll hit the road again. Bruno will call me up and play some piano over the phone to see what I think of his ideas, and he’ll ask where he should go from there. Or I’ll go into the studio and he’ll have basic parts that he wants me to jam out on and do my thing. Most challenging is when he has me start a song out of nowhere, in any key with any groove or vibe. He’ll say to me, “Hey Jam, I need ‘Billie Jean.’” That’s a lot of pressure, you know? You don’t just come up with “Billie Jean” off the top of your head. All you can do is play what you’re feeling in that moment and hope it works. But Bruno knows how to make a hit, so if the part works for him, I know I’m in good hands.

Working as much as I do with my childhood friend @lennykravitz, I’ve become used to a level of humility and cool that I just don’t see in too many young artists today. But Bruno is different. He’s a true entertainer with a heart of gold. His entire crew and band consists of friends he grew up with. And, we can talk about our musical hero (Prince) for hours. This picture was taken in my hometown of Paris during soundcheck for Bruno’s 2013 #MoonshineJungle tour at Bercy, when he invited Lenny to perform “Are You Gonna Go My Way” as his encore. Eh, there were generally a song or two that I never cared much for from his past few albums, so I'm not that put off by just 9 tracks if a good amount are at least close to how great the single is?

I want Bruno to dominate over the next year+.
