Just heard the song. It sounds similar to the sound he was going for on his debut album Starting Now. I liked it, the chorus is pretty catchy. I hope he can get back on the charts with this one after being off for 4 years.

^ I agree that his label is a discouraging sign this won't be a hit, but I think it will chart and perhaps make a run at the top 40.
These kind of love ballads is what Chuck Wicks does best IMO. The vocal delivery by Chuck in the chorus I feel really brings out his emotion in this song. The production does have a "Rascal Flatts" vibe to it, which can be conceived as a good or bad thing. Though I feel the production may be a bit overdone, it accomplishes the job of getting the point across of the plea to his significant other to get back the love they may have lost. It's also very catchy for a ballad like song, which I feel should help it get some play come the adds date.

Blaster is definitely a few steps up from being on your own label with no promotional arm, though.
I'm not sure if this will do much, but it's good to see that Chuck is still pursuing his dream.

Considering Aaron Lewis got to Top 40 with a pair of singles w/Blaster, It's entirely possible he'll get Top 40 at least and he's got Cumulus on his side (part of the Morning show possee for Nash FM stations).

Chuck's still got fans out there :) currently top 10 country i-tunes
For me, I like this; and think it has a shot on radio. We will see if his label has enough backing to get him there, but being on the morning show wont hurt when it comes to adds.

I'm not a Chuck Wicks fan and his voice has never done a whole lot for me, so take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt. I like the verses of this song, but not the chorus. I think this is radio friendly enough that it might go somewhere. It's better than bro-country and so are the lyrics, but at the same time I think the melody and production still fit in with the overall "aura" of what's popular at country radio right now.

His voice sounds a lot stronger and more mature on this song. I always thought Chuck sounded kind of milquetoast and shaky on his early songs (even if "Stealing Cinderella" is great), but he seems to have a lot more passion and force to his voice this time around.

I've never liked a song from Chuck Wicks so I admit I didn't even give this one a chance until today and I was pleasantly surprised. It sounds a lot like some of the other songs being played on radio now so I think it would be a hit if he were on a big label. But regardless, glad he finally delivered.

Stealing Cinderella remains my favorite Chuck single. This one's okay though.

I like this a lot. Good start debuting at 45, maybe he has a hit on his hands?

I think the Cumulus block added this, as Chuck Wicks does a morning show for them with Blair Garner and Terri Clark. I don't expect this to sustain momentum for its whole chart run, but it has had an impressive chart debut (albeit a month after its release) and may climb as high as top 20.

I hope you're right about the top 20. Chuck Wicks has not seen that part of the chart since All I Ever Wanted peaked at #14 in 2008.

I'm not really feeling this one, I just don't like the pace of it. Maybe it's because the lyrics and title remind me too much of Lonestar's song of the same name, which was so much better! I like Chuck Wicks for the most part, but I don't see this being his comeback single.

This makes up for Old School and Salt Life getting shunned at radio . I liked those both better, but I do think he has a distinctive voice and offers something different.

Congrats on Chuck gaining his 5th Top 40 hit. Let's see how far they can push it. It's actually his 4th top 40 hit :) His debut "Stealing Cinderella" went to #5, "All I Ever Wanted" peaked at #14, and "Man Of The House" peaked at #27. After that he released "Hold That Thought" which stopped at #42, and then "Old School" peaked at #43. He was dropped by RCA when "Old School" was still on the charts but it lingered in the 40's for a bit as an indie label (C05) picked up promotion for it. Then "Salt Life" was self-released last year but he didn't have a label at the time so of course it didn't chart. Blaster Records is becoming a stronger label, slowly but surely. I don't know how high this song can climb but at least they're getting Chuck's name and music back out there a bit.

^It's possible that HTT went top 40 on Mediabase, but since they don't really archive their data... ;) I always go by Billboard peaks.
Blaster has also added Montgomery Gentry and Jack Ingram to their roster, so they are definitely moving up in terms of what the bigger indie labels are.

I think it's impressive that this managed to get into the top 40 in only its 5th week on the chart. It definitely benefited from a lot of songs going recurrent, but that says to me that it might end up being a pretty big hit for Chuck (by that, I mean top 15/top 20).

This one got the big Cumulus block add (due to Chuck's affiliation with Blair Garner's show), though, and since then it has really leveled off--it hasn't been able to continue gaining. It's accomplishments so far are pretty good but I don't know if enough radio stations will warm up to this. Cumulus alone can't get this into the top 20.

^ I don't even see "Us Again" reaching the top 30 at this point. This one's really struggling right now after that good start. It's only on 58 monitored Mediabase stations, and has a loss of 57 spins today. I was very interested to see how this would fare after the cumulus block adds early on, and unfortunately for Chuck, it's not faring well.

Sorry for a double post, but man Chuck looks done. Down 122 spins on Mediabase today. Even if it recovers somehow it still wouldn't do much of anything. After he got those cumulus adds early on, there really wasn't anymore stations jumping on this song. It was going fairly well and then as soon as it reached that top 40, it just hit that brick wall and collapsed. Shame too cause I thought this song was pretty good and easily my favorite Chuck song in a while.

It just seems like it would be odd for the label to throw this out there and only stand behind it for 6 weeks or so. And anyway isn't Chuck getting some top 40 countdown spins today for the first time? So perhaps he'll see a little boost in tomorrow's update and maybe a better week to come.

He was barely able to limp in at #40 on Mediabase this past week, but the add date was in late January. I do think this may rebound some, but this update is a crusher. It will be out of the countdown shows next week for sure though, and the biggest problem was not enough support from other stations. It reached close to 60 monitored stations I believe. Blaster hasn't prove to get a song past this point on the chart yet. "Forever" and "Endless Summer" got just inside the top 40 and stalled as well with about the same amount of station support. I'm thinking a better update will come just because of this singles infancy, but to me it will only delay the inevitable. Perhaps we'll see in the coming days.

On last night's Mediabase, this was ... -449. No rebounding from that. But at least he got a Top 40 on Country Airplay, Mediabase and Country Songs chart. That can't be. It had to have been an error. This one's bullet is only -43 as of today's update, and in yesterday's update it was -72 but the song gained 150k yesterday (countdown spins). Today the song was basically flat...up 13 spins but down 3k in audience. I am not sure where the -449 number came from. Anyway, I don't think this is done just yet. I don't really understand how Billboard awarded it a bullet on last night's chart--Chuck lost 358k and 91 spins for the week, a steeper loss in audience and spins than both Sheryl Crow and Charlie Worsham, and yet those 2 songs did not receive bullets--but it would appear that Blaster is still promoting this one.

Well I think this will go recurrent this week on Mediabase if it doesn't pull a miraculous turnaround this weekend, as it's been bulletless the past two weeks. It currently has a -81 on today's Mediabase update. I knew this was in trouble when Chuck took that ugly update a couple weeks back and it was able to regain some audience and spins but it never really was able to get going again. The fact that it wasn't getting much stations adding it once it got top 40 hurt as well. It's peak so far has been #40 and #37 on Billboard. The only reason this is disappointing is the fact it's only 11 weeks old. Blaster just can't seem to break though that #36-40 range as evidence by Aaron Lewis' singles "Endless Summer" (#39), and "Forever" (#39 on Mediabase).
Hopefully Chuck can continue to show good progress with his music, as I thought he sounded pretty good on this song compared to his prior singles.

Sent packing on Mediabase, it has gone recurrent along with Jerrod and Charlie.
