From Billboard: Calvin Harris scores his first top 10 album as his fourth studio release, Motion, bows at No. 5. It also easily clocks his best sales week yet with 35,000 sold. His previous high was logged by his last album, 18 Months, when it debuted and peaked at No. 19 in 2012, starting with 17,000 sold. From Billboard: Calvin Harris achieves a milestone on the Artist 100, becoming the first DJ to reach the top 10. He roars 21-9 (up 59 percent in points) as his new album, Motion starts at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 35,000 sold. The set features cameos from Ellie Goulding, Haim and Gwen Stefani, in addition to John Newman, who sings the top 20 Hot 100 hit "Blame." The former was already mentioned by Flip in the previous post.
"Outside" debuts atop in the UK Dance Singles Chart. Also, seven songs from Motion, including the aforementioned and all the songs released before the album plus "Faith" made the Top 40 there. Moreover, Motion debuts atop in the UK Dance Albums Chart, while 18 Months climbs back to #2. • See the UK Dance Singles Chart Top 40 list here. • See the UK Dance Albums Chart Top 40 list here.
The photo posted above is from The Sun and it shows Calvin, who is on the mend, leaving a hospital in LA after he suffered a heart scare last weekend. Sadly, the full story isn't available because it's necessary to be subscribed to see it there.

Yes! I'm impressed how catchy these new songs are.
"Open Wide" - It's a guilty pleasure! I have mixed feelings about it. The lyrics make me cringe every time I play it. :x Then again, the instrumental is flaw free and I have a spot point for Big Sean. Never change.
"Together" - Gwen sounds soulless on this, but it's catchy as hell, so I can't complain.
"Dollar Signs" - THE DRUMS! THE DRUMS! :'( The drops are "Animals" ripoffs, but I can live with that. The "video game-like" beats.
"Outside" - I would put "I Need Your Love" above this, but overall it's still very good. I hope these Calvin/Ellie songs won't be a staple, because it will get boring quickly.
"Pray To God" - THIS. Bury my remnants please. When I heard that the HAIM girls will be on his album I was curious how will that turn out. Maybe I had low expectations, but NEVER ever thought their collabo would sound that good. The girls slayed this EDM song so bad. I can't.

I like your comments Rocky! The shoutout for "Pray to God" <3 Regarding "Open Wide": I have mixed feelings about it. The lyrics make me cringe every time I play it. Then again, the instrumental is flaw free and I have a spot point for Big Sean. Have you tried to check "C.U.B.A" instead? I mean, that song was the original and was released before Big Sean made the vocals for the album, so I think that you may prefer that. I hope these Calvin/Ellie songs won't be a staple, because it will get boring quickly. I kind of agree with this, but there is some information that Ellie wants a new collaboration with Calvin for her upcoming album, so looks like three will be a charm
From Billboard: Calvin Harris careens onto Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart at No. 1 with Motion (35,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan). Motion, which includes cameos from Ellie Goulding, Haim and Gwen Stefani, among others, also motors onto the Billboard 200 at No. 5, marking the highest chart position and best sales week for a DJ since Skrillex's Recess debuted on April 5 (No. 4, 47,000). Motion is Harris' second Dance/Electronic Albums No. 1, following 2012's 18 Months.
Harris also hits No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Blame" (featuring John Newman) (2-1), tying Avicii as the only acts with two toppers each since the chart's Jan. 26, 2013 inception; Harris first led for four weeks earlier this year with "Summer."
Harris joins Daft Punk, Avicii and Disclosure in leading Billboard's two main dance/electronic charts simultaneously.
"Blame" also spends a third week at No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. As previously reported, Harris becomes the first DJ to crack the Billboard Artist 100's top 10, hurtling 21-9.
Calvin talked with Charlie Hedges from KISS FM UK about Motion. He mentioned some interesting details, but the media focused about his reject track for Rihanna's new album. Expected. {Notes} • Calvin called "Outside" as his favourite track ever. Wow! • He feels that he did pop songs instead of EDM tracks for Motion, mainly because music changed a little bit and dance songs tend to be considered as pop songs nowadays. The reference of "I'm Not Alone" • Regarding his collaboration with Firebeatz on "It Was You", he said that he wanted to do a track with them since he plays some of their stuff on his DJ sets. The same goes with R3hab and Ummet Ozcan and he 'borrowed' some of their sounds. • About the album, he said that he was messing around until the end of April when he finished two tracks for it, but he already have some ideas, so he wanted to finish it. Having said that, when he didn't have gigs, he went to the studio. • He got the idea of "Summer" a year ago (specifically, around Summer) and it took three weeks to do the vocals of it. I know, it only has a hook! The riff and the strings came before the drop, having two melodies at the same time, which he considers it was a little weird. • Every track of his album has some elements of guitar (layout or texture). • He hasn't been into predicting trends because he believes that a good interesting song is a good interesting song. He just wants to write good music that sounds cool and interesting. • Regarding "Outside", he considers that it's a catchy pop song with some cool sounds on it and that's the reason why he likes it so much. Also, he said that it's fun working with Ellie and he doesn't know which sound would she wants for her next record, so they are going to figure it out. • He tests mixes (even if they are for two minutes) all the time during his gigs, mostly on Hakkasan Las Vegas :o However, he doesn't mention to the crowd and it gives the idea which ones connect better with the people there and which ones not. Clever! • He doesn't have too many hobbies and he considers his music as his job. • About which songs could be released after "Outside" as potentially singles, he says he doesn't know (too early, of course), but he mentioned that he really likes "Pray to God" as it finds it very interesting at the start of the (next) year (YES Calvin! Please, make it happen. I want to listen to Calvin/HAIM on the radio :'(). • Charlie brought up the Big Sean track as a suggestion, but Calvin said that they (assuming he's talking about himself and his label) messed up with the release since iTunes has rules where if you pre-order an album and you get an instant grat track, you can't release it properly unless it's being re-released in a single package after a period of time. Does someone know exactly about this? Anyway, he says that he likes it, but he prefers to release another song. • Besides that, the other options are "Together" and "Faith". Personally, I wasn't expecting he would mention the latter to be honest, but I think I will be in the minority again if I say that I want him to push that track properly. His vocals >>>>> Regarding the Rihanna track that didn't make the cut on her upcoming album, he said the following: "I had an album to finish, so I did that. But I did one track and Tinashe wrote the top line, and I did all the music. I love it. But I don't think she was into it. So I don't know what is going to happen to that because it's really good." Another track between Calvin and Tinashe. Oh!

Columbia Records uploaded some photos from the Motion Listening Tour on their Facebook page, which took 4 days in 5 cities from the East Coast of the US. You can see the full album here.
It's been announced that Calvin will be performing in South America in March next year for the Estereo Picnic Festival in Colombia, as well as the three Lollapalooza editions in Chile, Argentina and Brazil. | | | Estereo Picnic Festival (Flyer) | Lollapalooza Chile (Flyer)

Side note: If there isn't any promoter in Peru (I'm especially looking at you Loop Peru) to bring him here, I will be really, really pissed off.

Calvin was interviewed on Top of the Pops, a BBC Radio 1 programme regarding the movements and new entries in the UK Singles and Albums chart and he talked about his beginnings, the process to write a song and which of them are better for radio or the club. Listen to the interview (around the 16:40 min. mark) on the embed tweet above or here.
He was also on the phone for Saturday Night Online where he discussed about his latest album Motion. Listen to the interview on the embed tweet above or here.
Calvin was on Capital Breakfast with Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon this Wednesday (I'm not sure if it was live or pre-recorded, although I feel it was the latter), where he discussed about Motion and he had a cheeky swiping session on Tinder. Watch the video on the embed tweet above or here.
The following happened this week on KNHC-FM, a US dance radio station. When will your faves have three songs as Hot Picks in a dance radio station?
Anyway, looks like Calvin is taking a rest after his heart scare almost two weeks ago. I mean, after the cancellation of his MTV EMAs performance on November 9, he already had two booked performances in Hakkasan Las Vegas this month, but both of them ( Nov. 15 and Nov. 22) have been pulled off as well. I guess he's going to make a comeback later this month when he will be performing in Australia for the Stereosonic Festival.

When EDM greatness collides. #boom :Calvin and Tiësto photo: Precursor to the NYE show in Vegas? YES! I need another "Century" in my life. Anyway, the fact that both of them share birthdays still surprises me.
Second week of the Stereosonic Festival and Calvin shared three more pics on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. | Stereosonic Adelaide |

From Billboard: Billboard reported the 2014 Year-End chart and Calvin, along his songs, landed in the following spots. {Lists}General: #50. Top Artists #33. Hot 100 Songs - "Summer" #32. International: #15. Canadian Hot 100 - "Summer" #81. Canadian Hot 100 - "Blame" #18. Canadian Hot 100 Artists
We already know that Australia is always ahead of song releases. Having said that, this is what it's currently happening there thanks to Kworb's website. That's right. "Pray to God" entered the Top 100 on the Australian iTunes. I know it's too early to think about a new single because "Outside" (the current one) will impact the US radios early next year, but if it's considered how long Calvin's singles tend to peak there, I assume a new song will be released overseas in the meantime. However, if this is chosen, I hope it gets a US treatment since this is one of my favourite tracks from Motion and I don't want a "Let's Go" / "We'll Be Coming Back" / "Sweet Nothing" scenario again.

He did great on all the Dance charts, of course! And I'm happy he's top 30 on the general ones - great job with the on-demand category.
I think we will get a LG/WBCB/SN scenario at the rate he's going. I feel like he's going to do international release/then US release etc like he did with 18 months - it was pretty much every other single went US with the exceptions of LG which did follow FSC (not counting WFL) and TAY which did end up following INYL.

Calvin performed at the BBC Music Awards this evening. He was joined on stage by John Newman for "Blame" and Ellie Goulding for "Outside". John Newman was going crazy on-stage and Calvin looked great, as always (Ellie looked like she was going to the beach lol)!
Also, here are pics of the trio on the red carpet.

It feels like the most accurate choice, so I think this is my concern if "Pray to God" is the next single. However, if it's meant to happen, I really hope he pulls an "I Need Your Love" / "Thinking About You" / "Under Control" in the US instead.
Regarding the BBC Music Awards medley performance, it was really great. Kind of strange that Calvin was at the piano instead of the decks though. Maybe, there wasn't a proper part of the stage for that? Anyway, John always does these crazy moves on "Blame", but I like them, while Ellie sounds amazing there. The connection between them around the 2:40min. mark :'( I don't know, but I feel that this was going to be performed at the EMAs too.

Calvin performed at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2014 yesterday. From Billboard: There are some photos from him and one with Gwen Stefani and Ryan Tedder in the backstage below. If Benny Blanco have joined them, it would have been the perfect pic to commemorate "Together". Also, he tweeted one with Pharrell Williams and the aforementioned artists. {More pics and .gifs from his Jingle Ball performance}

New Calvin's BTS photos from the Emporio Armani photoshoot. From People StyleWatch: This is what Calvin said about being part of the Emporio Armani campaign: "It's incredible to be working with Mr. Armani and his team at Emporio Armani. I feel an affinity to the brand ethos and have been a long time admirer of their designs." And the following was shared by Giorgio Armani: "Calvin Harris is a truly cosmopolitan, dynamic young man who is capable of attracting the masses with his music and energy. He isn't a model by nature, and this creates a more sincere and engaging bond with the public."

Calvin atop the list = well-deserved!! In fact, that list is pretty good overall. I take exception to Steve Aoki's positioning - he could be a few rungs lower but that's ok. That Top 3 though.

Armani made officially the announcement, adding on their Facebook page that the campaign will be launched globally in January. Also, there's a new BTS pic (the one in the middle), plus two previously posted, although they are not together this time.

I have to be honest that when I saw the poster above on Calvin's social medias, I was torn since Vincent Chase is a fictional character on 'Entourage' and I didn't find any connection with him. I even thought he was joking However, YourEDM has said the following about this: Holy sh*t! I wasn't expecting him to make an acting career debut. Also, I'm intrigued now if he's going to make new music for the film or they are going to be from Motion and/or his previous albums. I mean, the production will be dumb if any of his songs will not be featured on the soundtrack to be honest.
