What do yall think about all the different chain stores puttin out exclusive tracks when you buy a new cd?Brad Paisley did this with his last one, I bought the Target excusive cause Im more intrested in audio than video and Best Buy and Wally World had DVDs bundled with theres. And I LOVED the extra tracks. Now heres my gripe: BOTH Wally-World AND Target has a exclusive with Gretchen Wilson's new cd With Different tracks!!!Now I gotta choose . This is something that started off cool but is now is almost sittin up for folks to buy multiples of the same disc.....which I am NOT doing.....

I think it's great. Competition is a good thing and this is a great idea. One can't go wrong with extra songs on a cd.

My theory is that it's an ace in the hole move by the record labels to bring back more of the music buying pubilc from the digital download side. Since a lot of people will get on iTunes and download just a single or two and not the whole album, I think the labels lose some money in the long run, and I know it probably hurts songwriters (From royalties lost) as well. The extras that are exclusive to certain chain stores is something that is interesting to a lot of people, and it's a great way to introduce the artist a little better to boot, since there is usually some candid stuff and interviews on the DVDs.

I agree--I've gotten several extra tracks from buying the new (and TERRIFIC), CDs from Brad Paisley and Sara Evans at Target, and getting FOUR bonus tracks from Martina McBride on her new CD this Tuesday for a mere $9.99 is a STEAL!!!!!!!

I wasn't really impressed with the bonus cuts from Sara's CD which is quite a shock. I do know that You is a Rachel Proctor tune though that was scrapped for her debut album. I hope the bonuses on Martina's CD are better.

I don't like them because they aren't made available in Canada.

Target has an extensive and exclusive deal with RCA and all there label groups for a year so be on the look for any artist under there label group to have anywhere between 2-4 songs extra on there cd's

I finally found the Brad Paisley extras and I think a couple of them should have been included on all albums to be released as singles. Especially Hard To Say Hello.

Anybody know what the bonus tracks on the Target version of the Martina McBride album are? Their website says there are 4. I think i'm gonna buy it there this weekend...the clips sound good.

LeAnn Rimes' "Afraid to Fall" is one of her best songs ever! They should have made it a track on the album instead on just a BONUS, buy the CD here track! This song would burn up the country charts. Too bad it will never be a single.
