www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.27372/title.hip-hop-album-sales-week-ending-2-2-2014Hip Hop Album Sales: Week Ending 2/2/2014 by Andres Tardio posted February 05, 2014 2014 Grammy Nominees continue their shine at #2, Andy Mineo's "Never Land EP" debuts in the Top 15 and Isaiah Rashad's "Cilvia Demo" lands in the Top 40. This week, the Grammys continued to impact the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. 2014 Grammy Nominees, a compilation album, remained in the Top 2. Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also saw gains this week, likely at least in part due to their Grammy Awards nominations and their performances. Elsewhere, Andy Mineo placed in the Top 15 with his Never Land EP and Isaiah Rashad landed in the Top 40 with his Cilvia Demo. 2014 Grammy Nominees Remains #2 This week, just like last week, the 2014 Grammy Nominees compilation album remains in the #2 spot. The compilation project sold 87,171 copies this week, a 47 percent increase from the 59,314 units it sold last week. Overall, the album has sold 146,732 units in its two weeks of availability. Beyonce, who performed at the Grammys, fell to the #5 spot from her #4 position last week, but her sales were steady with a 0 percent change. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, winners of four Grammy Awards, saw a 62 percent increase in sales from 18,090 last week to 29,335 copies sold this week. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar, who also performed at the Grammys, saw an 81 percent increase in sales from 8,185 last week to 14,805 copies sold this week. Overall, Lamar has sold 1,165,667 units of his good kid, m.A.A.d. city album. Andy Mineo's Never Land EP Lands At #13 Andy Mineo, who categorizes himself as a Christian rapper, landed in the #13 spot this week with Never Land EP. The project sold 25,931 units in its first week of availability. Mineo made headlines in January when he criticized other rappers who are Christian. "I hope people listen to the music,” he said during an interview with MTV. “Don't write it off because there is a Christian doing it and it's been labeled that way, because if I'm honest with you, Christian rap for the most part has been corny." Soon after, Mineo wrote a apologetic letter on Facebook. “I definitely could have chosen my words more carefully to consider my audience better in this interview," Mineo wrote. "I’m learning. My apologies go out to anyone who may be offended by some of my statements on air. I appreciate those that have taken the time to call out error in love. Pray for me as I continue to grow and learn to be an effective missionary in hip hop culture.” Isaiah Rashad's Cilvia Demo Strikes At #40 Isaiah Rashad's TDE debut release, Cilvia Demo, landed in the #40 slot this week. The project sold 8,534 copies in its first week of sales. #2. Grammy Nominees - 2014 Grammy Nominees - 87,000 (147,000) #5. Beyonce - Beyonce - 48,000 (1,668,000) #11. www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/chart-alert/5893982/frozen-longest-running-no-1-film-soundtrack-since-2003'Frozen' Longest-Running No. 1 Film Soundtrack Since 2003 By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | February 05, 2014 The soundtrack to "Frozen" holds steady at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a fourth nonconsecutive week, fending off the surging "2014 Grammy Nominees" album at No. 2. The last theatrical film soundtrack to spend four weeks atop the chart was "Bad Boys II," which ruled for four consecutive frames in August 2003. "Frozen" sold another 94,000 copies in the week ending Feb. 2 (for a gain of 1%), while the "Grammy Nominees" compilation album sold 87,000 (up 47%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. A week ago, it debuted at No. 2 with 59,000. The latest chart week's tracking frame was the first full week after the Grammy Awards, which were held on Sunday, Jan. 26. Last week, some industry forecasters suggested that the "Grammy" album had a shot at hitting No. 1 -- and thus marking the first No. 1 in the long-running series' history. However, the sales of the "Grammy" set started to slow as last weekend approached and as we got farther away from the awards ceremony itself. Meanwhile, the "Frozen" album benefited from the reissue of its parent film last Friday (Jan. 31) in movie theaters as a sing-along movie. The new print (complete with a bouncing snowflake to help audiences sing along) arrived in more than 2,000 theaters during the weekend, and was accompanied by a TV advertising blitz. "Frozen" has now sold 863,000 copies to date. It has not sold fewer than 81,000 in a week since mid-December. Two new albums arrive in the top 10 this week, from Of Mice & Men and Casting Crowns. The former's "Restoring Force" opens at a career-high No. 4 with its best sales week yet: 51,000. (The band had previously never gone higher than No. 28, in 2011, with "The Flood.") Casting Crowns, meanwhile, starts at No. 6 with "Thrive," which sold 43,000. It’s the band's fifth top 10 effort, and it also enters at No. 1 on the Christian Albums chart, its sixth leader on that tally. The Grammy Awards directly impact a full seven out of the top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 this week. After the "2014 Grammy Nominees" album at No. 2, the titles at Nos. 3, 5 and 7-10 all bask in the glow of Grammy. Lorde, who won two Grammy Awards (both of which were presented during the broadcast) and performed on the show, sees her "Pure Heroine" album jump from No. 5 to No. 3 with 68,000 (up 86%). Beyonce, who opened the Grammy Awards with the single "Drunk in Love," is pushed back a position to No. 5, with 48,000 (up less than 1%). "Unorthodox Jukebox" by Bruno Mars -- who won the best pop vocal album award -- flies 18-7 (42,000; up 180%). Of course, Mars also played the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 2 (the final day of the most recent tracking week), so he profits from that exposure as well. His Super Bowl show was the most-watched halftime performance ever, with an audience of 115.3 million U.S. TV viewers, according to Nielsen. Outside the top 10, Mars' first album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans," zooms from No. 82 to No. 19 with 16,000 and a 303% gain. Both albums rise in the wake of less than one full day of impact from the Super Bowl, as the new tracking week finished on the same night as the game. Mars' sales could further increase next week, after a full seven days of sales are generated after the big game. Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" rises 11-8 with 39,000 (up 65%). The band had the good fortune of performing on both the Grammy Awards and on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (Feb. 1) within the same week. Both appearances rock the band’s chart placing this week, as "Night Visions" logs its best sales week outside of the Christmas shopping season since last March. Katy Perry and Daft Punk -- who both also played the Grammy Awards -- round out the top 10 at Nos. 9 and 10, with "PRISM" and "Random Access Memories," respectively. Perry performed her current hit "Dark Horse" on the Grammy show, and was nominated for multiple awards. "PRISM" is steady at No. 9 with a little more than 30,000 (up 22%). As for Daft Punk, the duo's album of the year winner rises 39-10 with 30,000 (up 300%). Daft Punk also performed on the show, singing record of the year winner "Get Lucky" with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers. This is the first visit to the top 10 for "Random Access Memories"since last July. It's also the former No. 1 album's best sales week since that same month, when it was in its sixth week on the chart and sold 31,000. Over on the Digital Songs chart, Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, holds at No. 1 with 373,000 downloads sold (up 27%). Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty," featuring 2 Chainz, is steady at No. 2 with 234,000 (up 21%). Pharrell's "Happy" is also stationary, at No. 3, with 219,000 (up 17%). Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," which the band performed on the Grammy Awards and "Saturday Night Live," ascends 29-4 with 208,000 (up 239%). The band was joined by Kendrick Lamar for both appearances, performing a new remix of the track. Said remixed track was released to retailers the day after the Grammy Awards, and its sales account for 73% of the total sum this week for“Radioactive.” Overall, this is the third-largest sales week for the song, which peaked in popularity last summer. Passenger's "Let Her Go," which was featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Budweiser, rises to its third-biggest sales week as well: 176,000 (up 51%). It climbs from No. 11 to No. 5. A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera's "Say Something" steps up one rung to No. 6 with 152,000 (up 4%). Beyonce's "Drunk in Love," featuring Jay Z, nets its best week yet, as it flies 18-7 with 151,000 (up 94%). As mentioned earlier, "Drunk in Love" opened the Grammy Awards. Pitbull's "Timber," featuring Ke$ha, slips 5-8 with 142,000 (down 16%), and Bastille's "Pompeii" dips 6-9 with 140,000 (down 5%). Lorde's "Royals," which she performed on the Grammy Awards, returns to the top 10 (13-10) with 137,000 (up 33%). Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Feb. 2) totaled 4.6 million units, up 8% compared with the sum last week (4.3 million) and down 12% compared with the comparable sales week of 2013 (5.3 million). Year-to-date album sales stand at 23 million, down 13% compared with the same total at this point last year (26.5 million). Digital track sales this past week totaled 23.8 million downloads, up less than 1% compared with last week (23.7 million) and down 8% stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (25.8 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 127.8 million, down 11% compared with the same total at this point last year (143.7 million). Next week's Billboard 200 competes with the same week in 2013 when: Josh Groban's "All That Echoes" debuted at No. 1 with 145,000 and Tim McGraw's "Two Lanes of Freedom" started at No. 2 with 107,000.

Surprised Queen B.'s album didn't see a notable bump. With that awful performance I'm surprised the album still managed to shift that many copies post grammy ngl

Frozen is easily going to outsell the last 1 million selling soundtrack, Pitch Perfect.
The last multi-platinum soundtrack was the original 2xp Twilight soundtrack.

www.billboard.com/articles/news/5893985/grammy-awards-rock-charts-daft-punk-returns-to-top-10-on-billboard-200Grammy Awards Rock Charts, Daft Punk Returns to Top 10 on Billboard 200 By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | February 05, 2014 Now that a full week has passed since the Grammy Awards, the Billboard charts are properly rocked by the show and its many winners and performers. (The latest Nielsen SoundScan sales tracking week ended on February 2. It captures the first seven days after the Grammys, which aired on CBS on January 26.) The top selling album related to the Grammys is the "2014 Grammy Nominees" compilation set, which holds at No. 2 for a second week, selling 87,000 (though it's up by 47%). The No. 1 album this week is, again, the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen," with 94,000 (up less than 1%). Last week, some industry forecasters suggested that the "Grammy" album had a shot at hitting No. 1 -- and thus marking the first No. 1 in the long-running series' history. However, the sales of the "Grammy" set started to slow as last weekend approached -- and as we got farther away from the Awards ceremony itself. Notably, this year is the first time since 2009 that, in the week after the Grammy Awards, there is no album that sold more than 100,000 copies. In 2009, in the week after the show, Taylor Swift's "Fearless" was the top selling album, with 92,000 sold (up 44%). At No. 2 that week was Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' new winner for album of the year, "Raising Sand," with 77,000 (up 715%). Back on this week's chart, a full seven out of the top 10 albums are directly impacted by the Grammy Awards. After the "2014 Grammy Nominees" album at No. 2, the titles at Nos. 3, 5 and 7-10 all bask in the glow of Grammy. In the top 40 of the chart, there are 13 albums that see Grammy-related gains. GRAMMYs Video: Red Carpet & More Lorde, who won two Grammy awards (both of which were presented on the broadcast) and performed on the show, sees her "Pure Heroine" album jump from No. 5 to No. 3 with 68,000 (up 86%). Beyonce, who opened the Grammy Awards with the single "Drunk In Love," is pushed back a position to No. 5, with 48,000 (up less than 1%). Bruno Mars -- who won the best pop vocal album award for his second release, "Unorthodox Jukebox" -- flies 18-7 with that album (42,000; up 180%). Of course, Mars also played the Super Bowl halftime show on February 2 (the final day of the most recent tracking week), so he profits from that exposure as well. Both albums rise in the wake of less than one full day of impact from the Super Bowl -- as the new tracking week finished on the same night as the game. Mars' sales could increase further next week, after a full seven days of sales are generated after the big game. At No. 8 on the Billboard 200, Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" rises 11-8 with 39,000 (up 65%). The band had the good fortune of performing on both the Grammy Awards and on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (February 1) within the same week. Both appearances rock their chart placing this week, as "Night Visions" logs its best sales week outside of the Christmas shopping season since last March. Outside of the top 10, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis -- who won multiple trophies and performed on the show -- rises 14-11 with "The Heist." The set, which also won the best rap album award, sold 29,000 for the week -- up 62%. Kacey Musgraves, the winner of the best country album award for "Same Trailer Different Park," sees that album fly 28-12 with 27,000 (up 177%). Musgraves also performed the set's single "Follow Your Arrow" on the show. On the Country Albums chart, "Same Trailer" returns to No. 1 for the first time since its debut atop the list on the chart dated April 6, 2013. The album's 27,000 sales week is also its second-biggest frame, after its debut of 43,000. Lorde and Musgraves also gain thanks in part to sale pricing at both Amazon MP3 and Google Play, where their albums were marked down to $1.99 for a short time last week. Notable re-entries on the Billboard 200 this week include Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" and Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection." 25-time Grammy winner Wonder joined Daft Punk for a medley of songs on the show, which included the "Songs" cut "Another Star." The album returns to the list for the first time in more than 30 years, re-entering at No. 99 with 4,000 sold (up 1,037%). It's the set's best sales week since Christmas of 1999. As for Madonna, the diva assisted Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in their "Same Love" Grammy performance, by singing a few lines of her No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit "Open Your Heart." The song, first released in 1986 on the "True Blue" album, is also featured on Madonna's first greatest hits album, "The Immaculate Collection." The latter re-enters the Billboard 200 chart for the first time since 1993, as it returns at No. 153 with 3,000 (up 494%). It's the best sales frame for "Immaculate" since July of 2008. Both Wonder and Madonna's albums also profit from a limited-time sale price in the Google Play store last week, where each title was briefly marked down to 99-cents for select consumers.

21 is now 130,000 away from 11 million. If her followup does come out this year, I expect her to easily cross the line by the end of 2014.

Welcome back, Immaculate Collection. :) Of note is that it logged some 282 weeks in the catalog top 50 (when older titles were not eligible for the BB 200. Also cool to see Stevie Wonder's classic title return.
What are "select consumers" on Google Play, by the way?

music.yahoo.com/blogs/music-news/chart-watch-oh-lorde-she-hot-211631968.htmlChart Watch: Oh Lorde Is She Hot By Paul Grein, Yahoo Music Forty-three artists performed on the Grammy telecast on Jan. 26, either alone or in collaborations. After a full week of sales, Lorde wins bragging rights as the performer on the show with the highest-charting album. Her debut album, "Pure Heroine," rebounds from #5 to #3 on The Billboard 200, equaling its highest ranking to date. It trails only the "Frozen" soundtrack and the "2014 Grammy Nominees" compilation—which contains Lorde's breakthrough smash, "Royals." Lorde won two Grammys: Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, both for "Royals." This strong showing with both Grammy voters and the record-buying public makes up for the fact that Lorde was inexplicably passed over for a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. "Pure Heroine" sold 50K digital copies this week, which puts it at #1 on Top Digital Albums for the first time. Albums by four other artists who performed on the Grammys are listed in the top 10 on this week's Billboard 200. Beyonce's "Beyonce" dips from #4 to #5. Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" rebounds from #11 to #8. Katy Perry's "PRISM" holds at #9. Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" leaps from #39 to #10. This marks the first appearance in the top 10 for "Random Access Memories" since July. The album, which took Album of the Year, sold 30K copies this week. That's a far cry from the last two Album of the Year winners. Two years ago, Adele's "21" (admittedly, a once-in-a-decade phenomenon) sold 730K copies in the first full week following the show. Last year, Mumford & Sons' "Babel" sold 185K copies in the equivalent period. Both of these albums ranked #1 in the week following the telecast. "2014 Grammy Nominees" holds at #2 for the second week. It's the 20th volume in this long-running franchise, and the second in a row to reach #2. The album features five acts who have albums of their own in this week's top 10: Lorde, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry and Daft Punk. Bruno Mars' "Unorthodox Jukebox" vaults from #18 to #7 in the immediate wake of his half-time performance at the Super Bowl. (The sales tracking period closed just hours after the Super Bowl aired.) An estimated 115.3 million viewers watched Mars' performance, making it the most-watched Super Bowl halftime performance in history. This is the album's first appearance in the top 10 since the week ending September 1. "Jukebox" is one of two albums in the current top 10 that has placed in the top 10 in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The other is Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions." "Jukebox" is close to becoming Mars' second album in a row to sell 2 million copies in the U.S. It's up to 1,968,000 as of this week. His 2010 debut album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans," is up to 2,173,000. "Doo-Wops" rebounds from #82 to #19 in its 171th week. This is its highest ranking since July 2012. "Doo-Wops" returns to #1 on Top Catalog Albums. This is its 12th week on top. The "Frozen" soundtrack takes the #1 spot for the second week in a row (and the fourth week overall). That movie has grossed $360 million in 11 weeks, making it the fourth-highest grossing movie of the past 12 months. It was in the top five at the box-office for the 10th straight weekend. The "Frozen" soundtrack is the first soundtrack to spend four weeks on top since "High School Musical 2" (from a made-for-TV movie on the Disney Channel) in 2007. "Frozen" is the first soundtrack from a theatrically-released movie to log four weeks at #1 since "Bad Boys II" in 2003. In addition, "Frozen" logs its 10th week at #1 on Top Soundtracks. Just two albums in this week's top 10 were not boosted by the Grammys, the Super Bowl or a blockbuster movie. Of Mice And Men's "Restoring Force" debuts at #4. It's the metalcore band's first top 10 album. The band was named after John Steinbeck's classic 1937 novella. (In a nifty coincidence, a group called American Authors has a song in this week's top 40.) Casting Crowns' "Thrive" debuts at #6. It's the Contemporary Christian group's fifth studio album in a row to make the top 10. "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J holds at #1 on Hot Digital Songs for the fourth week (373K). Will it log its second week at #1 on the Hot 100? You'll find out later today when we post my Songs blogs. Here's a recap of this week's top 10 albums. The Top Five: The "Frozen" soundtrack holds at #1 for the fourth week in its 10th week (94K). This is its eighth week in the top 10 … "2014 Grammy Nominees" holds at #2 for the second week in its second week (87K) … Lorde's "Pure Heroine" rebounds from #5 to #3 in its 18th week (68K). This is its 13th week in the top 10… Of Mice And Men's "Restoring Force" debuts at #4 (51K). It's the metalcore band's first top 10 album … Beyonce's "Beyonce" dips from #4 to #5 in its eighth week (48K). It has been in the top five the entire time. The Second Five: Casting Crowns' "Thrive" debuts at #6 (43K). This is the group's fifth top 10 album … Bruno Mars' "Unorthodox Jukebox" jumps from #18 to #7 in its 60th week (42K). This is its 22nd week in the top 10… Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" rebounds from #11 to #8 in its 74th week (39K). This is its 24th week in the top 10 … Katy Perry's "PRISM" holds at #9 for the third week in its 15th week (30K). This is its 14th week in the top 10 … Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" rebounds from #39 to #10 in its 37th week (30K). This is its ninth week in the top 10. Five albums drop out of the top 10 this week. A Great Big World's "Is There Anybody Out There?" dives from #3 to #33. Kidz Bop Kids' "Kidz Bop 25" drops from #6 to #14. Young the Giant's "Mind Over Matter" plummets from #7 to #53. Bruce Springsteen's "High Hopes" drops from #8 to #29. Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" drops from #10 to #15. Kacey Musgraves' "Same Trailer Different Park" leaps from #28 to #12 in its 39th week. This is its highest ranking since it debuted at #2 in the week ending March 24. The album, which beat Taylor Swift's "Red" to win the Grammy for Best Country Album, returns to #1 on Top Country Albums. This is its second week on top of that chart (which "Red" ruled for 16 weeks). Andy Mineo's EP "Never Land" debuts at #13. The Christian hip-hopper's debut album, "Heroes For Sale," debuted and peaked at #11 last April … David Crosby's "Croz" debuts at #36. Crosby first cracked the top 40 in July 1965 as a member of The Byrds with "Mr. Tambourine Man" … Red Hot Chili Peppers' 2003 album "Greatest Hits" re-enters the chart at #41 in the wake of the band's performance of "Give It Away" during half-time at the Super Bowl. Michael Jackson's 2003 compilation "Number Ones," which jumps from #162 to #141, tops the 5 million mark in U.S. sales this week. The album has sold the majority of those copies since Jackson's death in June 2009. It had sold 1,825,000 copies as of the week before his death. "Number Ones" is Jackson's third album to top the 5 million mark in U.S. sales since January 1991, when Nielsen SoundScan started tracking music sales. The others are "Thriller" (6,343,000, plus millions more in its first 8+ years of release) and "Dangerous" (5,786,000, plus 658K for a subsequent edition). Beyonce this week tops the 15 million mark in album sales as a solo artist. With Destiny's Child, she has sold 17,383,000 albums. Combining the two careers, she has sold 32,383,000 albums, which puts her ahead of husband Jay Z (29,106,000). He's currently ahead in terms of total Grammys won (19 to 17), so I wanted her to have something to come back to him with! Metallica's "Through The Never" enters Top Music Videos at #1. It sold 25K copies this week, which is the greatest one-week tally for a music video since One Direction’s "Up All Night—The Live Tour" sold 29K in the week before Christmas 2012. This is the greatest one-week tally for a video by a rock band since Rush’s "Beyond The Lighted Stage" started with 34K in July 2010. (Note: Rush's "Clockwork Orange" sold just under 25K in its first week in November 2013.) Coming Attractions: "Now 49" will be among next week's top new entries, along with Broken Bells's "After The Disco," Little Mix's "Salute" and "Love, Marriage & Divorce" by Toni Braxton & Babyface.

Thanks for posting the charts.
One day, unless someone's already of top of it, I'd like to compile titles' number of cumulative weeks on both the Billboard 200 and top 50 catalog- but, for December 2009-present, just looking at the weeks on BB 200 prior to then, and just catalog weeks since. On the catalog chart, didn't Billboard list the cumulative weeks on both charts? From Dec. 2009-on, there wasn't much of a point, as the top catalog titles have been scoring weeks on both.
In any event, Legend is the undisputed to be the catalog champ in terms of total weeks, followed by Journey. Among female acts, Carole King's Tapestry looks to have the most cumulative weeks, and then possibly The Immaculate Collection. Maybe Come on Over is in there, too. Celine Dion's All the Way... also racked up a good number of weeks.

www.billboard.com/biz/articles/5900976/chart-moves-michael-jacksons-number-ones-hits-5-million-in-sales-onerepublicChart Moves: Michael Jackson's 'Number Ones' Hits 5 Million in Sales, OneRepublic Moves a Half-Million of 'Native'By Keith Caulfield | February 07, 2014 This week on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the "Frozen" soundtrack ruled for a fourth week at No. 1 -- the longest rule for a theatrical film's soundtrack since "Bad Boys II" in 2003. Outside of the top slot, the top 10 (and the rest of the chart) was riddled with gains owed to the Grammy Awards, the Super Bowl and discount pricing at both Amazon MP3 and Google Play. Let's take a look at some of movers and shakers on the chart this week: -- Grateful Dead, "Dave's Picks Volume 9" - No. 30 - The Dave's Picks series grants the band its 61st chart entry, as this new effort bows with 12,000 sold. It will likely linger on the tally for just a week or two, as most of the sales of the title (like most of the Dead's recent archival sets) were generated by pre-orders. -- A Great Big World, "Is There Anybody Out There?" - No. 33 - With much of the album's debut last week powered by pre-orders -- and with impact from the Grammy Awards swarming the chart this week -- A Great Big World had nowhere to go but down (falling by 77% from No. 3 to No. 33 with 11,000). It's the biggest fall for a top-three debut since Dec. 14, when Five Finger Death Punch's "The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell: Volume 2" tumbled 2-34). -- One Republic, "Native" - No. 35 - With another 10,000 sold this past week, the group's album rises past the half-million sales mark (502,000 to be exact). Meanwhile, the set's smash single "Counting Stars" spends its 15th consecutive week in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It peaked at No. 2 last month, while this week, it slips 3-5. "Native" is the band's third (of three) albums to sell more than a half-million. It follows the group's debut "Dreaming Out Loud" (release in 2007; 1.1 million) and 2009's "Waking Up" (619,000). -- David Crosby, "Croz" - No. 36 - With his first album since 1993, the veteran artist claims his highest-charting solo effort since 1971, when his solo debut, "If I Could Only Remember My Name," hit to No. 12. Over on the Folk Albums chart, "Croz" starts at No. 2. -- Soundtrack, "O Brother Where Art Thou?" - No. 102 - The Grammy winner for album of the year returns, thanks in part to a temporary sale price in the Google Play store for $1.99 last week (which was matched by Amazon MP3). The set sold 4,000 for the week (up by 203%). -- Motley Crue, "Greatest Hits" - No. 131 - Following a Jan. 28 announcement by the band that it will retire from touring after its upcoming concert trek, this 2009 hits package returns for the first time since 2012 (3,000; up 195%). -- Queens of the Stone Age, "Like Clockwork" - No. 138 - The band helped close out the Grammy Awards, with a collaborative performance with Nine Inch Nails, Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham. In turn, Queens of the Stone Age's most recent album steps back onto the chart with a 24% gain. -- Michael Jackson, "Number Ones" - No. 141 - The greatest hits package surpasses 5 million in total U.S. sales this week, marking the King of Pop's third album to sell that many copies since SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991. It joins "Thriller" (6.3 million) and "Dangerous" (5.8 million) in Jackson's 5 million-seller club (again, in the SoundScan era). -- Paul McCartney, "New" - No. 189 - The Beatle's latest returns, thanks to a performance of the set's "Queenie Eye" on the Grammy Awards (with fellow Fab Four member Ringo Starr). "New" is up by 38%.

^The next albums that will cross the 5 million albums sold mark looks to be Maroon 5's "Songs About Jane."
