If this girl was black she would have had a hit by now. Her being white and from Australia is a double edged sword.

I liked all of them, but if 'Work' couldn't do it then... I mean, she's gonna have to sell more than her soul to the Illuminati overlords to get a hit.
The Australian talking ghettonese thing still throws me though, because it doesn't really seem authentic. But then what do I know?

Work and Change Your Life were cute but they didn't sound like hits. Her music doesn't really fit into the climate of hip hop. Also she's a subpar rapper. I would say that if she was a black girl, she wouldn't even have been signed and certainly wouldn't have been given these spectacular video budgets.
She's destined to be an instagram account with a record deal.

And just because she doesn't have chart hits her name is actually becoming bigger and bigger outside the internets. Also people need to quit it with the white card in her case when that is CLEARLY the reason holding her back in the States.

I think this might be the song to finally get her a hit in the U.S. Work and Change Your Life were cute but they didn't sound like hits. That's BS. If Nicki Minaj recorded those songs I bet they would have been moderate/sizeable hits for her.

The beat is hot but I STILL don't understand what so many see in her talent-wise? Her flow is simply... not a flow. She sounds like any typical frat kid doing karaoke to their favorite rap crossover hit at a party.

Her music, like Azealia and Angel Haze, is not urban enough to break through and pop music is not exactly welcoming female rappers with open arms.
Work AND Change Your Life were fine songs but they were too poppy/experimental for urban. Nicki would not have gotten hits off of those songs unless they wete majorly reworked. Honestly, I think they both benefited from great videos because her lyricism and flow are both weak. I just can't really buy that she was sitting on these masterpieces and radio paid her dust because she's white.
Radio is the whitest it's been in a LONG time on all formats. Her being white is why people care about her and why she was signed, she's a commodity and a novelty story. I'm sure the reason her budgets for these videos are so big is because her label realizes people want to look at her, over listening to her.
I would say the only argument you could make is that radio is being sexist against her, which is probably true but I still don't think her music is radio friendly outside of Europe.

The reason why she's gotten attention is probably and mainly because she's attractive and not her skin color but that's the case with *most* other female artists sadly anyway so not really a valid point. Would Nicki be super successful if she wasn't attractive/had crazy looks in her videos, etc? Nicki was considered talented before all that and still wasn't enough until she started doing it, I mean showcasing her assets more often etc. Plus Iggy is outlasting all the other female rap newbies (including white girls Kreayshawn and equally-Instagram-favorite-due-to-her-looks Lil Debbie) in terms of "watch out she might still happen" for a reason. She has talent, the DRUGS freestyle and lots of other songs like Work and even Leave It are proof of that idc what you say, some people just can't look past a skin color and make everything about that which is so annoying. You can't acknowledge the possibility of a white woman rapping having quality without starting to feel all of the rap community will slam you instantly without actually even hearing her rap first (without being aware/caring about her skin color obviously).
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Iggy needs musical exposure, she needs to get her name out there on the radio, charts, whatever. How to do that? Features. It's what Nicki did to have her major break through - and is still doing to keep the interest alive clearly. I'm not saying it will work but it's her best shot at this point. And it's what any other female rapper basically needs to do these days to "happen" in the mainstream world for real (unless she has a surprise ground-breaking song that starts smashing!!1 the internets out of nowhere but that's no longer going to be Iggy's case because as I've also said before she is known to some capacity already). I still don't understand why Iggy doesn't seem to be savvy enough to get these features though, I'm PRETTY sure she has connections and I mean T.I. is kinda on her team. Maybe her skin color, again, is the reason of her problems for this in terms of urban US artists not wanting to associate with her, but then again she could just give in and do those pop features (super scary for a rapper trying to get some credibility ofc I know she's not trying to be a pop act blah blah) in the beginning, which I have a feeling she's trying to stay away from so far.

You're really going to argue that she hasn't garnered attention for being a white female rapper? Oh alright.
I don't even mean to sound like such a hater, I think she's made some nice songs, Pussy was a jam. And she seems like a nice girl on her Breakfast Club interviews. But 9/10 her flow just sounds so awkward and her rhymes are so elementary. I just don't buy that she's the undiscovered rap superstar whose getting slept on because she's white. Lots of people were eager to work with her when she first came out, the reason I think rappers aren't jumping at the seam to get on an Iggy track is because she is starting to become known as a flop, and all that record label drama wasn't a great look either.
Yes, all female artists are expected to look good. And that's not fair. But in most cases it's just a part of the package. For Iggy, that IS the package. When Nicki came out, she had the sexy thing like all the other females but her music was made her stand out. People aren't out here spitting Iggy lyrics like one liners like they were when Nicki was on the come up.
I agree that features would get her a bigger buzz, but I just don't think her skills are really on point like they need to be for a female rapper to break through, as fucked up as that is.

It obviously contributed but her skin color is not THE factor keeping the "hope" alive in her career's particular case. Back when Ignorant Art (her first mixtape) dropped people weren't even 100% aware of what she looked like, well most had seen the Pu$$y video I guess but still, they were praising her rap skills/raw talent. The XXL cover, the early T.I. co-sign, there's definitely potential that is not only looks-based but I guess that's also relative so there's probably no point in arguing this any further when what you think her "awkward flow" can be an "amazing flow" to someone else as Billboard's ex-director was tweeting about earlier: or the Work verses being praised last year by hip-hop based magazines by its lyrics.
I agree that Iggy's visuals also contribute a lot to the package you're talking about though but she's always said that for her music doesn't make sense without any visuals to associate it with since the beginning/when she dropped that first mixtape I mentioned so it's not like it has ever been her intention to fool people into anything. The fact that all those visual ideas also come directly from her should also allow her to get even more credit in a world where the likes of Lady Gaga and a lot of mainstream acts wouldn't have become successful if it wasn't for the importance visuals have in an artist's career as well these days.
And if rappers (?) like Pitbull can be featured in every single song that exists on this planet's radio (and this has kinda been an on-going situation for years now) I really don't think Iggy would have this big problem you're hinting either but then again I'm entering subjective territory again.

Work AND Change Your Life were fine songs but they were too poppy/experimental for urban. I disagree with that. There's lots of urban hits that sound similar to Work and Change Your Life. Her songs do have a catchy hook and a strong melody, but there's nothing wrong with that. But rhythmic is the format that will embrace her the easiest imo, so they should start there. Like Show Me by Kid Ink (which is also produced by DJ Mustard), it was a hit on rhythmic first, and now has crossed over to pop and urban. It took a LONG time for that song though, it was released like 5 months ago and still hasn't peaked lol. It's easier to get a song played on pop or urban if they see that it's already having success on a similar format. I think Bounce is the song that wouldn't have worked on urban radio, but the other two would've done. I do agree that if she was black and from the US she'd probably be getting more urban airplay, but I think her being white can help in some ways. For example Ride by SoMo, which is an awesome R&B song, got top 50 on pop recently. Whilst Sevyn Streeter can't get top 50, even though her song was much bigger, and is just as good imo. Also, it's good that they got Charli XCX on this song, but wasn't YG supposed to be on it? They should have kept him as well, since he's just had a big hit.

The clip made me think this was going to be great, but this is easily my least favorite single of hers. To the point where I actually think this is just bad. Really annoyed with Charli on this.
