lol why did it take 3 months for Roar to reach #1 on AC and stay at #1 when the song is generally continuing to die out? Katy Perry.

I love Lorde. I think she fills a niche in pop that no one else is right now -- she's laid-back but still has enough of a beat to fit in on the radio. She's similar to a lot of the music I listen to that never reaches a pop audience. To me it's very exciting to see her succeed and add some much needed diversity in sound to the pop landscape.

I really don't get the love for team. I don't really get the love for "I don't really get the love for xy song" posts. It's a catchy song, with a relatable message for many, nice production. It's easy to see why one would love it. What you mean is: I don't like Team, no one should either. Music is subjective, get used to it.

It only took 2 months, which is INCREDIBLY fast for AC. It hit #1 in end of November (if it's on its 12th week at #1 in February) and the song came out in end of August so it's 3 months... It hit #1 on October 16 on Mediabase.

It only took 2 months, which is INCREDIBLY fast for AC. It hit #1 in end of November (if it's on its 12th week at #1 in February) and the song came out in end of August so it's 3 months... It hasn't been #1 for 12 consecutive weeks. It initially hit #1 on the November 9, 2013 chart (which would've been in late October given Billboard issue dates). After 5 weeks at the summit, holiday airplay became a factor on AC and Kelly Clarkson's "Underneath the Tree" lead for 4 weeks. "Roar" then returned to #1 on the following week and has remained on top ever since.

2003 and 2004 made me glad when digital sales were incorporated into the chart in 2005. The R&B/Hip-Hop sound was total overkill, much like the dance sound today.
I wish we could have a nice, even total of all genres on Top 40 instead of steamrolling one sound and riding it to death.

Top Ten Prediction 1.Dark Horse 2/3.Talk Dirty/Happy 4.Timber 5.Say Something 6.Counting Stars 7.Pompeii 8.Drunk In Love 9.Let Her Go 10.Team Not 100% sure if Happy will be in the top 3 this week but its seems likely. I didn't realize Timber would be higher than Say Something...I guess it makes sense now that Say Something wouldn't be #2...seems like a legitimate prediction although I think Let Her Go will be higher as it still got a lot of sales and streaming and good airplay this week...maybe it will even reach the top 5

Revised prediction:
1. Dark Horse (obviously this isn't going to be revised, 40%+ lead remains) 2. Talk Dirty (damn, what a fast climber!) 3. Happy 4. Timber 5. Say Something 6. Counting Stars 7. Let Her Go 8. Drunk in Love 9. Pompeii 10. Team
7 and 8 could be either or. My wishful thinking is that Let Her Go has enough radio and sales advantage over DIL to be the higher one on the Hot 100 this week.
also between 4 and 5, 4 has a reasonable advantage over 5 in radio, a mild advantage in streaming, and a mild disadvantage in sales so despite what I said a couple of days ago, SS won't be 2 or even 3 or 4, my bad lol.
