You can now stream Cole's debut album on Itunes for free. Track Listing: 1. ‘Hey Y’all’ 2. ‘Chillin’ It’ 3. ‘Swayin’’ 4. ‘Hope You Get Lonely Tonight’ 5. ‘Let Me See Ya Girl’ 6. ‘Ain’t Worth the Whiskey’ 7. ‘Brought to You by Beer’ 8. ‘I Just Want You’ 9. ‘Get Up’ 10. ‘A Dozen Roses and a Six-Pack’ 11. ‘Down Home Boys’ 12. ‘The Back Roads and the Back Row’ I just started listening to this and won't be able to listen to it fully till tomorrow, but I think this album is going to let him run away with the CMA New Artist award in the fall.

Where at on iTunes can you listen to this album? I found the album but don't see nothing bout it being free to listen to on the store page anywhere. I even checked my iTunes radio and found NOTHING.

Any idea who the producer is? Google is of no help.

the producer is Jody Stevens Of the duo Fast Ryde. When you think about Fast Ryde's sound and this album, Jody's influence is very evident and maybe Fast Ryde was a little ahead of their time.

I found the link: itunes.apple.com/us/album/cole-swindell/id791588126Well... there's a way to stream it, but the direct link to his album doesn't get you to where you can stream it. Maybe a glitch on iTunes end (no surprise). On the main "iTunes store" page, if you scroll through the featured albums at the top of the page, you'll come to his album with opportunity to stream it.

As far as I remember, Jody Stevens was only the producer on single but if he did produce the whole album, it makes sense because his dad is Luke's producer and Cole's Luke's close friend.

Say what you want about Fast Ryde, but I considered "That Thang" a guilty pleasure and genuinely liked "Make It Rain". I also saw them when Matt took me to CMA Music Festival in 2010, and they were incredibly nice.

I just got the Credits for the album. Jody Stevens produced "Chillin' It" and Michael Carter (Cole's buddy and songwriter) produced the rest of the record.

I will say that I remember them being interviewed a few times when they came out and they did seem incredibly down to earth and fun to hang out with. That being said, I thought "That Thang" was a joke when I first heard it. The happiest I've ever been is when that "thang" died short of the top 40. And "Top Down" probably would have been a top 40 at least in 2013, but country radio wasn't quite ready for the auto-tune yet. That song was almost as bad as "That Thang". "Make It Rain" was pretty good, I'll give you that but I still can't believe that they were the very first new act that Scott Borchetta picked to launch the Republic imprint.

(Who are also incredibly nice, too.)

I just got the Credits for the album. Jody Stevens produced "Chillin' It" and Michael Carter (Cole's buddy and songwriter) produced the rest of the record. Here's another fun fact: Michael Carter is also the lead guitarist in Luke's band and co-wrote "Roller Coaster" and "Beer In The Headlights" on Luke's album. Plus I believe Michael and Luke went to college together along with Dallas Davidson. I might be weird, but I think the connection between all of these guys is really cool.

And Cole was hired by Luke to be his merchandise guy. It was Cole's first job outta college a decade ago. It was before Luke became LUKE. Cole wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on the project. Michael Carter has 8 co-writer credits on it. The lone tune not written by Cole? "Swayin'" by Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley and Rhett Akins. Luke co-wrote "I Just Want You" with Cole and Michael. FGL co-wrote likely 2nd single "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" with Cole and Michael. "Ain't Worth The Whiskey" and "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" are listed on the sticker with "Chillin' It."

Aint worth the Whiskey is a quality listen and tune. I am curious to hear the whole record but I am scared of the Luke Bryan connection he has. Luke Bryan is a joke imho.

I think this is a really solid debut noe that I've listened to it all the way through. Will add more thoughts later, but I don't change my CMA New Artist prediction.

I think it got to #42 on Mediabase. But I have to re-look it up. I know I'm old Fuddy clinging to 5 year old mediabase numbers. Edit: It got to #41 on Mediabase. Funny how it was going pretty good and fast for a debut single, then it just hit a brick wall when it reached the edge of the top 40 and fell off.

Because the world wasn't yet ready for such stellar lyrics as "junk like a trailer yard". (Wow, I just looked up the lyrics and I don't remember the song being quite that... dumb.)

Haven't finished the stream just yet but I'm very split on this album so far. "Dozen Roses and a 12 Pack", "I Just Want You" (say what you will about him but Luke Bryan can write good songs when he tries), and "Swayin" I liked, but "Hey Y'all" "Brought to You by Beer" and "Let Me See Ya Girl" just don't work for me.

Cole's voice really reminds me of another country singer's voice, but I can't quite put my finger on who it is I'm thinking of. At times he sounds like a mix between Scotty McCreery and John Rich, but there's someone else I'm thinking of..

When I listen to this Album I hear "Luke Bryan". The voice, songs and everything I hear sounds just like Luke Bryan.

I must say, I was stoked for the album, but I was very disappointed. For one, I can't stand how almost every song becomes with a Hip-hop electronic drum machine beat. The album had alot of "skip track" (Hey Yall, Let Me See Ya Girl, Down Home Boys, Brought To You By Beer, Get Up). Another disappointment, I have been listening to the songs on Youtube (presumably recorded right after or before his record deal), and they sound much more traditional, almost Easton Corbin-like. Check out the old Youtube clips of "A Dozen Roses" and "Ain't Worth The Whiskey". Even "Hope you Get Lonely Tonight". They sound so much better. I feel like good songs are being totally trashed, with over-production, loud guitars, hip hop beats etc. It's a shame, because this album had so much potential. I was really thrown off when I heard alot of the songs changed from the Youtube releases (which were definately studio versions). Do not like Cody Stevens producing at all.
That being said, I am sure this album goes #1 country, maybe #2 Billboard 200. Depends on what The Outsiders does.
Side note...after 15 minutes or so of listening to this album this morning...I went right back to The Outsiders album (which is great IMO)

^Funny you mention those three songs as more traditional because those are the only songs I could bear long enough for a full listen. The production however makes my like for them no more than middling. 2-2.5 stars (and everything else is obviously much worse; just not my style - no offense if you love this).

This is a stellar album. It will probably end up in my year end top 5 for albums this year. My favorites as follows are I hope you get lonely tonight, chilling it, ain't worth the whiskey, let me see ya girl, dozen roses and six pack,I just want you, get up, and bakc roads and the back row. As far as singles the smart idea would be hope you get lonely coming next then having let me see ya girl this summer as the summer single, then a dozen roses and a six pack and if there's a fith single which there may be there may not be id pick I just want you

Those 3 and "I Just Want You" are the only ones I picked up off iTunes. Whereas EYB has had 4 songs off their album that I have already loved without hearing the rest of the album...Gotta say this album may quickly get lost in the shuffle between The Outsiders, 10,000 Towns, Riser, and I'm a Fire. It'll have a week or two at the top or close, but then it'll drop.

I can see how people would be turned off by Cole and his 'bro country' vibe. However, I loved Chillin It a ton and also saw him live (fantastic imo) so I really enjoy the record. I love Hey Y'all and Lemme See Ya Girl...both very catchy. Solid cd. Here's to Dierks, DNail and EYB having killer albums the next 2 weeks.
