She should record a quiet storm influenced record.

I'm also tired of her electronic fixation. She said she'd work with Drake if he'd agree to it. I think him, her and 40 together could make an interesting mix.

I just want good pop songs-- not obvious trend chasing that makes me wonder if she even likes the music she's recording.

Not another EDM album PLEASE! Don't hold your breath... I just don't see Interscope allowing Madonna to do anything else at this point. I wish she had found a different path after the Warner contract ended. Some 4 years ago she talked about having to reinvent the wheel when it came to distributing her music and then she resorted to the same major label path.

"Allowing" Madonna? :) She may take input, but, ultimately, she's gonna do what she wants to do.
My favorite tracks on MDNA were "Love Spent," "Masterpiece," "Falling Free" and "Beautiful Killer." I enjoyed some of the other stuff, but they weren't really classic Madonna.

But EDM isn't even that hot right now, so one would think Interscope would push her into a different direction for better commercial results. Since we're talking expectations - I want the album to have better vocal mixing/production. Her vocals were a MESS on MDNA. I want COADF vocals, nice and clear. Doubtful, they would still go for the tried and true fanbase, surely nobody expects Madonna to gain new fans after 30 years. Hence why the Orbit reunion last time around, many fans wanted that for a long time...

Love spent was flawless and another member of the "should've been single" club Her voice in that song, masterpiece and gang bang were great! No regrets on those songs. GMAYL was a mistake of a lead single. Features couldn't salvage that song. Another lead single could've given a better start to the era. Masterpiece not being promoted at least on adult formats or as album preview was also messy. The buzz of its award could've been better capitalized. Anyway. This is the start of a new era. I'm looking forward to new music. Seems she's inspired, rebel, energized and with something to say. Also, there's no movie around, so this bodes well for the era. I'm hopeful

The major problem is she is making music lately that will do well when on tour, provide a thematic story line or sound like a big dance party. A mixture of things would be fine with me. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Daft Punk, if it was someone like Pat Leonard, I don't think she would say it was top secret, well then again...it's possible. lol...can't wait to hear more about it.

Are we not counting I'm Breathless as a studio album? :) Granted, it wasn't a regular studio album like the others, as there was a concept and tie-in to a movie, but it is an album of all-new material.

I don't mind her doing electronica music but I also hope it's not an EDM album. I don't expect another Ray Of Light but I like the idea of her doing something that is lighter in sound and more thoughtful. I'd also like her to have some decent co-writers too who can write lyrics that aren't completely awful.

First time ever I don't care about a new Madonna album. Last full album of hers I loved was American Life.

It's kinda early to say that, eh? Perhaps closer to release time you'll feel differently. ;)

I'm down with this. MDNA may not have been perfect but it had at least 6 great songs on there that I still listen to regularly.

"My favorite tracks on MDNA were "Love Spent," "Masterpiece," "Falling Free" and "Beautiful Killer." . Those were my favorites too! (Maybe it's a born-in-1975 thing.) But even those 4 tracks couldn't save mdna in the long run for me. It's just another album I listened to for a while but will never bother to again. Dear Madonna, please just sing your heart out for the next album. You had something to prove when you recorded Love Don't Live Here in '84. Well, you should know nothing has changed and you have to prove yourself every time. And same goes for your look. Get a haircut, grow in the eyebrows and lay off the catwoman injectables. Love, A pathetic fan

MDNA was a fine album. It doesn't measure up to the rest of her discography but a lot of the tracks were good. The problem was the mixing of both the production and vocals on quite a few of the tracks. "Girl Gone Wild", "I'm Addicted", and "Turn Up the Radio" were fun dance songs but I think "Girl Gone Wild" was the only one that was Madonna-quality. "Gang Bang", "Love Spent", "Masterpiece" and "Falling Free" were some of the best and more unique songs of the album- they actually felt like Madonna tracks, as did "I'm A Sinner" which I loved. Trite songs like "Luvin'" and "Some Girls" along with a couple of others is what dragged the album down. They had potential to be good but they were so generic and her vocals were grating. "I Don't Give A" had the potential to be really catchy and great- and I do like it, but as a Madonna track it just doesn't seem complete. Which describes the album as a whole.
SINGLES should have been:
1. Masterpiece (buzz track or just lead single) 2. Girl Gone Wild 3. Love Spent 4. Turn Up the Radio 5. Gang Bang

She must be alluding to working with Dallas Austin, the producer of Secret. On a related note, all four of the singles from the Bedtime Stories album still sound SO fresh, 20 years later.

Umm... Let's get it right....Beyoncé is not Madonna .. Let's get that straight .... B still needs to sell about 175 million more album and singles to catch the Queen...sadly I have to remind people of this ....again.

xxzion- what do the stats have to do with anyone being anyone? There's no reason to make comparisons to another act, especially at this stage. I know you're not the one who did so in the first place, just sayin'. ;)
Doubt wed have anything new by the time summer is over.
