Maybe, but I guess they didn't want to waste the songs even though most of them leaked out in unfinished form or in other stages of completion. I can understand the concern of too many songs weighing down an album because some albums, generally speaking, can have a few really strong singles and album tracks and then the rest is filler. I have only felt that a few songs out of Madonna's entire discography can fall into the filler category. I did listen to all of the demos at least once and I did find a few to be weaker, as can be expected with the amount of songs that there are, but there were just a couple that I found to be truly awful so I think it should be okay. The final versions could be significantly different so those ones may turn out better in their final versions. Considering how long it has been since we had a new album from her, it's nice that there is some more material than usual as it could be a long time again between albums, and she is really invested and focused this time around as she has no movies or other projects so chances are it will be a stronger, more cohesive effort. It looks like there will be a little something for everyone. I love uptempos, but I have missed the ballads and midtempos so I am glad there are several this time.

She is putting more effort into her album than any pop star I can think of lately. Like LOTS of effort.

Israeli Man Arrested for Hacking Madonna’s Computer and Leaking Music Nolan Feeney @nolanfeeney 8:56 AM ET
Madonna in New York in 2013. Dimitrios Kambouris—Getty Images The singer called the theft "a form of terrorism"
Israeli police arrested a man Wednesday who they suspect hacked into Madonna’s computer late last year and leaked demo versions of songs from her upcoming Rebel Heart album.
A month-long investigation from the cybercrime wing of Israel’s Lahav 433, an FBI-like organization, led authorities to arrest a 39-year-old, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A statement from Lahav 433 said it worked closely with the FBI and that the suspect allegedly “broke into the personal computers of several international artists over the past few months and stole” unreleased music that he then traded for money. Police put a gag order on the alleged hacker’s name, though local media in Israel have begun identifying the man as a former reality show contest from one of Israel’s singing competition programs.
Madonna, who in December rushed to release six songs from the album on iTunes in the wake of the leak, called the theft “a form of terrorism.”
Similarly, Björk announced Tuesday that she would suddenly release her new album, Vulnicura, on iTunes after the record leaked over the weekend, two months ahead of schedule.

Israeli Man Arrested Over Madonna 'Rebel Heart' Leak39-year-old man detained after evidence finds he hacked into Madonna and other artists' computers and sold unfinished demos BY DANIEL KREPS | January 21, 2015 Last December, Madonna was forced to rush out six songs from her upcoming LP Rebel Heart after over a dozen early mixes of the album's tracks leaked online well before the singer's 13th album was even announced. While most hacking perpetrators remain anonymous and avoid arrest, Israeli investigators arrested one suspect they believe is responsible for the Madonna hack, Reuters reports. Israeli police and cyber crime unit Lahav 433 confirmed they had a 39-year-old man in custody, adding that they have evidence that the man hacked Madonna's personal computers and then sold the Rebel Heart leaks to a third party. Authorities also remarked that the man had hacked into the personal computers of other artists, but did not elaborate on the other victims or what was taken. Israeli media is reporting that the suspect, whose name has not been revealed, was once a contestant on one of the country's singing competitions. "I am profoundly grateful to the FBI, the Israeli Police investigators and anyone else who helped lead to the arrest of this hacker," Madonna said in a Facebook message. "I deeply appreciate my fans who have provided us with pertinent information and continue to do so regarding leaks of my music. Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy. This invasion into my life - creatively, professionally, and personally remains a deeply devastating and hurtful experience, as it must be for all artists who are victims of this type of crime." Tel Aviv investigator Asher Wizman, whose firm was sought by Madonna's reps after evidence suggested that the cyber attack stemmed from Israel, told Reuters, "Our investigator found her computers, at home and at a studio, were broken into from a computer in Israel. We tracked down the computer, and the man behind it. After gathering enough evidence, we turned to the police and he was arrested today." Following the Rebel Heart leak, Madonna rushed out six finished versions of the album's tracks in late December. "I was hoping to release my new single 'Living for Love' on Valentine's Day with the rest of the album coming in the spring," Madonna said in a statement. "I would prefer my fans to hear completed versions of some of the songs instead of the incomplete tracks that are circulating. Please consider these six songs as an early Christmas gift." After the leaks, Madonna spoke to Rolling Stone about her creative process for the album. "I never sit down and consciously think I want to write a song about a subject," she said. "Music leads me to ideas and to where I want to go emotionally. I found as I would look back at my songs and witness what I had written, I was coming from two very distinct places. That happened organically, not planned out, and I was observing, 'Oh, these are two very strong sides of me that I need to express.'" Rebel Heart is due out March 10th. That Feb 12 radio date is two days off the Billboard date, and a Thursday, so that's odd (not that it matters too much).
The Mojo interview sounds like it will be a keeper.

Didn't that release say two tracks would be? Not that it was the best-composed press release, mind you.
