There was that recent pic of Mariah at the Global Impact where I think she was wearing that very bracelet.

Hmm, I was hoping the news would've been about new music, but it's nice that she's performing and getting exposure outside of Christmas. This is the most active she's been in a while, so I hope that means something's brewing closer to summer.

I don’t think we have long to wait to hear about new music. She would be crazy not to have a single out by March.

Wow. Listening to Live At Proctor Theater and...blown away. Sheer perfection. She sounded absolutely flawless. I can't even fathom what it was like to be there. I would have ascended.

I think she is going to use the a Vegas shows to promote new music. Either a single out by then or best case scenario a album.

I need her to have another moment with Graham Norton. I always loved her interviews on that show.

I don’t think cause she used “Mimi” in the tour title that’s it’s gonna be an Emancipation strictly tour. I read it as a Mariah “Mimi” celebration. The media headlines/coverage have been saying it's a celebration of the album. I assume her team fed them the framing of the promo, but maybe not and they just ran with it because of the use of "Mimi." Having said that, the official promo being used on Mariah's IG and such uses the pose from the TEOM album cover and then the background is like what she used for the last part of the "Shake It Off" video. That heavily implies these are TEOM-centered shows. If this is all the case, it's really odd to me they are doing it this year. With the inevitable celebration for the 30th anniversary of Merry Christmas later this year, why not highlight new music right now, celebrate the MC 30th this holiday season, and then highlight the 20th anniversary of TEOM a year from now? I need her to have another moment with Graham Norton. I always loved her interviews on that show. Yeah I don't know why she hasn't been on his show in so long. I don't think she's even been on it in over 20 years. She obviously doesn't go to the UK much anymore, which is part of it. I think because of the kids she stays more US-based, and then like with this Vegas residency they can be somewhere stable (and not too far from home in L.A.) for a couple of months between preparation and the shows. Her initial appearance with him has one of my favorite Mariah moments ever when she floored Graham by being able to identify her fans by name and country; he literally didn't believe her lol. Ok wow Mariah is continuing the love fest with Miley:

^^ Mariah is absolutely a sweetheart the way she is uplifting these young artists..it's also very smart definitely for her legacy. It's better than what some do on X formerly Twitter arguing with every new artists!!
I also know Mariah is an Aries she would never fake the funk, we know if she didn't care for the person she would remain "idkh".

Congrats Mariah and all the nominees. All fantastic
And also enjoying since she is a headline name in articles the dumb ass comments saying " Mariah Carey is rock" 😂

I hope Mariah gets in on the first try. It would be nice to see her get this recognition at this point in her career.

Very excited to see her name up there and also, it's cool that she is nominated with Foreigner, after covering their song.

I actually had a feeling this was coming; something about her appearances during Grammys weekend made it seem likely. Maybe her team was starting a push then by getting her out there. It's also interesting she and Lenny are both nominated this year after both received the Global Impact Award. Mariah and Cher are easily the two most influential artists in this group, which of course doesn't mean they will get in. It would be cool if Mariah got in with Lenny (since they go way back), Foreigner (as Ivy Leegue™ mentioned), Mary J (since they're friendly and technically have a duet with "It's a Wrap"), A Tribe Called Quest (she's worked with Q-Tip on a couple of songs), and Eric B & Rakim (she references Eric B in "Dedicated"). It's kind of wild how many of these nominees she's connected to. In terms of the fan voting, Mariah is very low and white men are the top acts: vote.rockhall.com/standingsWhere are the lambs?!

I wonder if she would release her album before trying to get some good press from it. She will definitely get some good solid love for it if she is inducted.

I wonder if she would release her album before trying to get some good press from it. She will definitely get some good solid love for it if she is inducted. She'd get good press if she's inducted, but I don't know if it's the kind of press that helps a new album since the focus is more on legacy. Look at how Usher's album is tanking despite all of his current hype. The interesting thing is the ceremony usually takes place in November and airs 1-2 months later. There would obviously be some tribute performances if Mariah get inducted, and potentially Mariah could perform "AIWFCIY" as well since the timing would be good and that's one of the biggest songs of all-time. I don't know how much an artist's team really pushes for induction, but I think Mariah is undoubtedly the most influential artist of the past 30 years and her team should focus on these main 3 areas of influence: 1. Vocal influence - Mariah literally influenced multiple generations of singers; Beyonce, Christina, Britney, Brandy, etc from the late 1990s, Kelly, J Hud, Rihanna, etc from the 2000s, and then Ariana, Ella Mai, Tori Kelly, etc from the 2010s. 2. Hip-pop - Mariah was the lead figure in combining pop and hip-hop. We still see rap/sung collaborations to this day, but also pop artists using hip-hop language and beats in their music. 3. Holiday music - Mariah almost single-handedly made holiday music relevant for new artists, and she was certainly the driving force in artists now all writing original holiday music.

Is there a limit to how many get inducted in one year? Seven inductees seem to be the number recently.
I think Mariah's tally will start increasing substantially over the next few days once fans are more aware of this voting poll.

Well, Mariah herself hasn’t even mentioned it on social media, and she is usually on the money with those types of announcements.
So Mariah had been passed over since 2016 when she became eligible, so what do we think changed between then and now that screamed nominate her?

There was no way Mariah was going to get inducted before Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and George Michael. Now that those 80s/90s pop artists are inducted including Lionel Richie, it's her time now.

Looking at the current voting tallies, it's kind of obvious to me that a lot of older people are voting in this poll. Ozzy Osborne will probably get in because he's sick and will get the sympathy vote. I don't see Peter Frampton making it out of those top 7 currently in the lead. I think Foreigner is a no-brainer for me this year and so is Cher. I love to see Kool and the Gang nominated because they were a great band. Surprised DMB hasn't been inducted yet. Maybe it's their time.

colson my bad, final votes had Sheryl at #8 last year. Both Whitney and Janet came in at #6 in their respective years. This link has the history if you want to look at others: link
