That song is the one song I don't use on Daydream. Same goes for Whenever You Call. Two peas in a very soggy pod. They are the reasons I can't say either Daydream or Butterfly are my favorite Mariah albums. If I can skip a song on an album, the quality is automatically lowered. That started to change with TAOM but even then, I didn't LOVE every song because either she got lazy (i.e. copying songs on the same album a la Circles/IWYK) or sounded bored (TTF). Hell, I'm already thinking MIAM will be better than TAOM based on bonus tracks alone, despite giving us old remixes. I got sick of DFAU early (another case of her copying herself on the same album. For the life of me, I can't understand how this went #1. I guess people REALLY loved WBT, LOL. Don't get me started on dragging Bone Thugs back into the mix either, long past their relevancy.) What It Look Like should never have been recorded and I actually never really liked WBT Remix, for the same reasons I got sick of DFAU. Then, there is So Lonely, which was WAY better than its original.
Whenever I'm traveling for work, the weeks fly by, which is good because Mariah's CD is needed in my life.

I'm actually hard pressed to think of ANY album where I LOVE all of the songs.

Good question. I liked to tease Goldie but he was always wicked nice to me and I respect his hustle as a lawyer. Yass!

And ugh how dare you not love When I Saw You or Whenever You Call- those are two of my favorites on their respective albums. but hey we all have different tastes! What are your favorite songs from those albums? (bar the singles)

When i think of classic Mariah I think of so much versatility one of the few singers who can weave in a out of any type of song, the bitch can sing with Stevie Wonder and Dolly Parton and then do a quick 30 second change and bust it out with Busta Rhymes. Sometimes lately I wish she would use that immense versatility more than rely on the tried and true

I actually think we'll be pleasantly surprised with the versatility and variety of tracks on this album. When I think of classic Mariah, I think of sexy, breezy feel good jams. Heartbreaker, Fantasy, Touch My Body, It's Like That, Dreamlover, I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time, #Beautiful, Always Be My Baby, Sweetheart, etc.

She doesn't have a charting single leading into the album release, and it takes a good 6 weeks after a song is out for everyone outside of music boards to hear it/know an artist has an album coming. If she released this after Beautiful, I would say 100k. Right now, I'm thinking 50-60k.

Does anyone think Michael Jackson's "Little Susie" and Mariah's "Looking In" would make an eerie mash-up? They kind of remind me of each other, melodically. It's pretty creepy but awesome!

Did she sing with Dolly Parton and I missed it? No daahling just a example of what she can do, she wouldn't sing with someone with bigger boobs than her so that duet wont happen.

Hehe Well, if she did, that would be a fun moment, no doubt. She did collaborate with Willie Nelson, so if she ever does another one with a big country act, I'd vote for Dolly.

I made an exhaustive list of fave Mariah songs a page or 2 ago. Please enjoy.

So I'm assuming she'll be sending the second single to radio the day of the album release a la Beyoncé? Just a guess of course And even with "no charting single" I still can't see her doing less than 100k. Allow me to set myself up for disappointment...

I need this music now, as much as I love YM (E), I'm tired of it from listening so many times plus it's more of a winter song, now the Art of Letting Go is staying fresh with me due to it's own epicness and the fact that some personal situations are making it very relatible. #Beautiful is becoming fresh to me again now too since the weather is getting warmer and it's just one of those songs where it's like really warm and you just wanna roll your windows down and blast it. This thing is basically two weeks away, can we at least get a press release? I mean, c'mon! Oh yeah, and Wendy Williams was talking about the album cover again yesterday, saying that her and J.Lo were basically competing with their album covers, of course she got the story wrong saying J.Lo released her album cover first (which made me mad). I guess we'll take the press though, even if flawed...[/quote Someone should set Wendy straight on Twitter maybe she'll make a correction in tv, more coverage. I would love to see Mariah on Wendy their reactions would be hilarious.

If she released this after Beautiful, I would say 100k. Right now, I'm thinking 50-60k. Right on. I always thought regardless of whatever 'tweaking' the album needed that #B had 'enough' positive hype and was def. a solid enough moderate hit for a female in their mid 40s who has been in the biz. 23 years to pull in at least 100k based on her fans alone and casual fans to beat Selena who came in about 5-10k under that. The 'only' minor negative was the video but radio play and sales stayed steady for several weeks and the album had enough momentum to most likely debut at #1. She positively should've just left the original single and video as it was instead of releasing endless useless crap remixes and videos etc.. Sorry, but I think it was Mimi and her yes people more than the record company who tripped out that the song didn't peak higher. Once it became clear #B would 'only' peak top 15, the impulsive, reckless 'business decisions' started. What started off as a promising era (and most likely another surefire #1 album) became a parody and squashed all the momentum to this day.

^^^ You make valid points.
But I think this era she's definitely experimenting... She's embracing a new formula where she delivers the album all at once with no lead single and basically sits back and let's the public pick the next single. She's definitely taking a chance. After You're Mine and The Art of Letting Go went nowhere, I guess she figures she'll try something new.

Ohhh thought that she meant she never heard of her haha, Mariah sent condolences to Selena s fam when she was murdered so she knew who J Lo was who got her break playing Selena in the biopic. What song did she steal from the queen? I agree now seems like no single til release day a la Yonce.

I wonder if there will be a specific plan to push a particular track the day the album's released. Maybe they'll wait to see if one track leaves others in the dust in terms of digital sales and go with that one. I'm just calling it the "next" single, as there's no point in tacking a number before it at this point. :)
As for "The Roof"- it's not bad , but I prefer "Breakdown."
