Could she be releasing the album on Sunday? Probably not; but, this Sunday NBC secretive thing has got me wondering.
She wouldn't release an album on Easter, though. Surely.... Right? And nbc schedule is full on Sunday night.
Perhaps the radio parties she's been having were to inform insiders of a surprise album and be ready to play new music in a moments notice.
And HDD taking down the release date, even after mentioning the album in the Building Chart article just on Monday.
Also, 5/6 is an odd release date for her anyways, since anniversary and babies' birthdays are just 6 days before.

Sorry for the conspiracy theory. Just nothing else to go on lately.

But, seriously, I sometimes wonder if this 4/20 thing is just a re-release of I'm That Chick. (Insert biggest eye roll ever)

I am going to add that if she postpones this album again that I won't care as long as the new single slays in every damn way possible. I don't necessarily care if it is a radio hit(I would like that, but it isn't necessary), but it damn well better hold my interest for more than the 5 seconds that You're Mine did.

Regarding YM (E), I don't find myself wanting to hear it every five seconds like I do for most of Mariah's lead singles (barring ILT), but when I do decide to listen to it, I always find myself sucked in. It's very pretty sounding.

I think that point was broached on the last page. I don't follow dance music so I have no idea what the protocol is. Mariah's re-sung dance remixes were the first time in history that kind of music was ever on my radar and I haven't really liked a dance remix of hers since Say Something, which I was obsessed with (WORTH YOUR WHILE! WORTH YOUR WHILE! WORTH YOUR WHILE! WORTH YOUR WHILE!!!). I hated all Jump Smokers remixes because they were so lazy. Actually, I liked the Triumphant dance remixes better than the original, now that I recall.

The labels hire promoters who push the song and its remixes to the panel of DJs. The labels with larger budgets tend to have their artists doing better and greater representation, but it's not necessarily true that they do it just get their favorite divas to number one. There are many instances where labels were really messy about it and did not hire a promoter and the single just stalled on the chart, regardless of how hot it was or how well it did on the other charts.

I know this is like 3 secs of each song, but it sounds like a bunch of samey midtempos. I was hoping for one undeniably uptempo song in the mix (or at least uptempo by Mariah's standards). Maybe the clips are misleading.

Oh......see, I disliked both E=MC2 and Memoirs upon hearing OFFICIAL clips. I actually loved everything I heard from that terrible 3 second quality and nothing sounded like BLATANT JD bullshit. I want this fucking album. I'm sick of waiting.

I specifically remember hearing the 'For The Record' clip and thinking "what garbage" and then the full song leaked and it was just extraordinarily good.
