Somedays I wish she wouldnt make new music if i'm being 100% honest because i keep going back to her other records that I love, it's almost greatness of that nature should just not be sullied with new music. I feel her angst and why she is obsessing, perfecting and taking so long, it's a difficult task to live up to all that greatness. You wont so she might as well do what she wants to do. take it or leave it.

I really hope this album gives me a good reason to look forward to her present and future work. It really is a shame because a bulk of her problems from Rainbow era on are either misguided single choices or terrible quality of music output (bad vocals/mixing) exception being TEOM. She really has had issues maintaining any type of momentum on her releases. I think she is doing just that Coco. I think Mariah even knows that she has reached that damned if she does/damned if she doesn't route with people. She gave people a back to basics so to speak on Memoirs there were no features on that album whatsoever, and the people didn't bite. It is a hard thing for her to probably have swallowed her pride and go back to what she thought people wanted from her, and it turned into one of her lowest selling albums of her career. So, I think she definitely is like well if they aren't going to bite with me doing what they tell me they want from me, then I am going to do what I want from me. |

OBAYBUH! I feel ya brother, I too am always excited but anxious and as someone who isnt the biggest fan of this Mariah, its been a mix of love and dislike, however yes i stay perched and optimistic. Until then I have the records from 1990-1997 and 2009.

Maybe the parade is just the first round of promo in order to get people excited. In that case, a delay would make sense...unless they are still going for a blitzkrieg attack.

So we should probably be getting a new single soon then I imagine? What would she perform for the Easter Parade? I hope not You're Mine or something older. If it was something new, that would lead me to believe it would be another ballad or mid tempo. Hmmmm....opportunity to sing Fly Like a Bird I guess. Only, song I can think of that makes sense with an Easter Parade if that is the case.

coco, that's my 2nd favorite Mariah song of ALL-TIME. :'( If she's still recording(according to that post above) then the album HAS TO BE an iTunes release exclusive, how can a physical copy be ready in time for the supposed May6 date? It can't. At least, I don't think it can. Also, it worries me that HDD removed her from the May 6 lineup. Oh dear Lord. Maybe they'll do a surprise iTunes release on April 20th, hence why HDD removed her from May 6, and then the physical album will come soon later in May. I feel exhausted.

The frustration is borne from the lack of news and constant speculation, which is all anyone can do. For all we know, they could be preparing an ITUNES rollout and then a physical release, as one has suggested. This is 2014 and times have been changing for a while so maybe Mariah and her team are trying a new approach for the launch of this album.

I can't imagine how that makes sense from a business standpoint. Unlike Beyonce, Mariah does not have the general public thirsty for a new release, based on exposure through tours and such. On top of that, her most recent single didn't exactly build buzz for the album. As long as they aren't expecting this to sell well by just dropping it on ITUNES and hoping for the best, then go for it. Selfishly, I don't want it to come out May 6th anyway, as I will be out of the country and unable to buy a physical release until the 24th anyway...

yeah earlier this month it already dawned on me there was no way album was coming out May 6th, and right now its mid April i cant believe anyone would seriously expect the album on that date now? So yeah not disappointing was expecting it.

I wasn't really following this song (You're Mine) all too much, but I was surprised to see that it jumped up to #3 on the Billboard dance chart this week, in its 6th week. I always liked her remixes of her ballads. I will have to check it out.

I don't think I have ever seen her look more amazing than she did in those ads. What about this fanmade album cover from the TEOM. This is the one I use when I put TEOM on my iphone.  Even though I respect your opinion, I disagree with it. I'm SO tired of Mariah in bikini sexy poses. All those glamour shots she does are getting REALLY OLD at this point. Ok, she's a beautiful woman and that must be his personality or taste to do that kind of pictures, but enough is enough. Can she try once in a while something more artistic or more edgy for her pictures? No, I'm not saying she needs to do Bjork type of pictures, but you know something cool with some artistic weight would be good. Or can she really concentrate in the music and show up all dressed up in a picture for once? I think this unfortunately has affected her in the long run. It affects in my opinion how people take her seriously or not. Every time I see those covers on her albums and singles they really turn off my interest in listening to the music. I right away think the music will be cheap, corny and watered down. |
