She was incredibly relaxed and confident.
I LOVE DKWTD - it's got me much more excited for the album than Thirsty.

I swear this woman could fart, and the lambs would be like this needs to be the single. Stop riding the short bus some of you as we haven't heard the whole album, and there could be better songs on the album that are great singles as well. I liked YDKWTD, but chill out children. Now having said that, JD and Mariah are at the front of the bus for even releasing You're Mine.

People are giving their opinion on what has been released. Of course there could be and I am sure there is even more great songs, but as of right now it seems that either 'Thirsty' or 'You Don't Know What To Do' are the upcoming single choices. Meh.

I've just realised that in the couple of videos I took of Mariah rehearsing this morning, she was wearing the black gloves on both hands...looks better!

It is a nice song, but I am not ready to call it a single until I hear the rest of the album in particular Meteorite, Faded and the other Hit-Boy tracks. JD has certainly freshened up his production which is nice to see, and it does lend itself very well to live performances.

It was a great performance, particularly the first half. There was a bit of a Beautiful/GMA situation at the end, which is why I'm guessing it wasn't shown for another hour - because it was flawless by the time it was shown on TV. Hopefully the performances get the preorders up, she did great today. |

She was advertised for that third hour all week on my channel guide, and it's standard for an extra performance to air later like that. But, yes, there were some technical issues. |

While YDKWTD is a catchy, throwback, feel good song (and one of her best songs in a while obviously esp. after the last several lackluster/ under performing releases) I don't think it's a strong, single/pop radio friendly material. Really like the beat (basically I'm That Chicks 1st cousin) but the melody while catchy gets too repetitive and I can see it having a fast burn out rate. On Urban and def. Urban AC this has a shot, but not pop. She's put out or had other similar 'throwback/retro' sounding songs even on her recent albums. Yes, there have been retro songs that smashed in the past year but they had a contemporary pop radio friendly sound. This is pure '70s r&b disco. Even w/ that rap it doesn't make the overall sound of the song sound contemporary. I actually think Fantasy (even w/ its retro sound) would work better on pop today/19 years later! lol Again good song but looks like they're going to go all Beyonce when it comes to the 'official' single release(s) and possibly release numerous singles to different formats and see which one clicks and sticks w/ pop.

Now overall, I too thought Mariah was great and I liked that she exuded confidence. :) |

"I'm That Chick" was one of my favorites on E=MC2, and I have a feeling "You Don't Know What to Do" will be one of my favorites off of the new album.
