TMB was already a song for tweens and TikTokkers, so I am not surprised in the slightest that it is doing well on that format. I would rather a song that hasn't already hit number 1 blow up. It's A Wrap deserved to go even further up the TikTok food chain. More Than Friends could get a moment too.

I'm just glad it's a song from the 2000s. Any song from E=MC2 that gets its moment (or another moment) is a win, imo.

Edit: If another song from that album deserves a bump in streams, it's "Migrate."

Does anyone think Mariah could do like a 2 side LP? Side A could be 'padam-esque' bangers for the boyz ;) and Side B could be new RnB and Ballad Mariah content. I think if she marketed it right she could build new interest from the new gens + casual listeners. The effect would potentially be the discovery her extensive back-catalogue a new found appreciation for her artistry. After that, she could pivot back fully into her songwriting and have another classic smash era. I know she doesn't need to prove herself in any way. She's one of the greats. It just seems like there is so much potential there because her brand is so well know. Everyone has heard a Mariah song. Everyone hears AIWFCIY every year. She is synonymous with pride. She's still definitely in the public conscious and has a solid core fan base in the Lambs. She could do it!

Of course she could, but Mariah hasn't seemed interested in 'bangers' in a long time. It is interesting how well her Universal catalog has been doing the past few years despite her not being on that label anymore. I wonder if whatever that label is now has approached her at all. Is she even signed with anyone right now? I wish she was capitalizing more on things.

I think Mariah just does whatever she is feeling in the moment. We get albums now when she is like oh now seems like a good time. She either is the Queen of capitalizing on things or letting them fall off to the side. I don’t really need another album from her, but a good series of EPs would be nice like each session is with a particular producer. An EP full of Dev Hynes, another EP with Timbaland produced songs, another with maybe David Morales full of dance bops, maybe another EP with Mark Ronson (I would be curious what they could do together).

I have a feeling she's simply not inspired right now and hasn't been for a while. If I'm not mistaken, she hasn't put out anything new — "new" as in anything that isn't a) a remake of a song off her back catalog, or b) Christmas music — since "In The Mix" from 2019. That's close to half a decade.

Then she's also not motivated due to $$$ reasons quite possibly. Maybe she doesn't see any reason to put out an album anytime soon given that it'll most likely won't make profit.

Also, wasn't it hinted recently that she isn't signed to a label currently?

I really miss her presence in the music scene, I would love a new Mariah Carey album, but maybe this is a new reality we'll need to get used to.

She definitely in the last year?? has said things about new projects. Something with the Butterfly Lounge was mentioned a couple times if I remember correctly. I could swear I thought she said something was coming in the summer? In one of her Xmas interviews. Either way, I love that EP Idea. Timbaland and her would be amazing. I’d love to hear her do something with David Guetta. Maybe a dance remix of her first single. It would be interesting. I just think the world could use some new Mariah. Maybe she’s afraid if she puts out a dud, then it will hinder her Xmas sales? But it’s been so long since she’s out an album out (the longest time between albums in her career) that people would embrace it.

I refuse to believe the last she wrote was for Caution 5 years ago (excluding In The Mix and FILAC). As a songwriter I am sure she has been writing but probably is not sure what to do with them. I wish her releases were not so calculated and she could just release whatever and whenever she wants to.

That's for the album version only. Combined with streams for the ODB remix, it's getting close to 400 million. "I Know What You Want" and "Obsessed" are nearing 300 million Spotify streams as well, which will give her 6 songs over that mark, which is more than Madonna and Whitney. I say that because it's an easy way to combat their stans who act like Mariah is only a holiday artist.

Ugh, that clip from the So So Def doc is taking me baaaaack. That moment in time is just so perfect and pure for me. I became a stan at the end of 'Rainbow' so the first thing I experienced was her downfall with 'Glitter'. Being a baby stan seeing her dragged in the press and by the GP was so brutal and hurtful. And then seeing her achieve these heights after everyone had written her off but Mariah herself and us... it was and remains truly priceless. I feel emotional just typing it! The gifts this woman has given us are endless; nothing could repay it.
