Yes. It's already been expressed by several of the voters that I read that they are intentionally voting for the ones they think needs the votes and support and bypassing the ones they assume are going to get inducted like Mariah.
I mean even the fans are being lazy. As I can tell by monitoring the voting every day that most fans are not voting every day. Not that it matters or not. But some people are definitely just assuming other fans will vote and/or assuming she's going to be inducted regardless of the fan voting results.

Since each voter can select up to 7 artists for their individual ballot, the fan poll will give the top 7 a vote. Obviously 1 ballot/vote doesn't make a huge difference, but every little thing helps. Lambs really are being lazy with their voting, though. It's really easy to do (easier than a TRL vote or buying a single, which lambs used to do in droves)...but lambs are old now lmao! |

Age has nothing to do with it. All of these acts have older fanbases and released music before Mariah except for MJB.
I surmise that most of these votes are coming from outside of the U.S. My reasoning is look at who's at the bottom of the voting and who's at or near the top.

The fan voting has been open for over a month now, and Mariah has 154k votes. That's an average of about 5,000 votes a day.
It's also very telling to me that the current top 4 in the fan voting are all white male rock acts, and the bottom 3 vote getters are all Black hip-hop/R&B acts.

On a different note, isn't it great that Memoirs is doing so well in the streaming era? While it has never been one of my favorite albums, it's nice to see a post-TEOM album enduring. Hope "UOMF" continues to grow!

I've expressed this sentiment earlier in this thread, but I've been through this process with Carole King three years ago. It was the exact same thing. Many of the critics and journalists who revealed their votes didn't vote for Carole because they thought she was a "slam dunk" to get in. So I'd see ballot after ballot come out that left her off, and I got very frustrated. Then the class was announced and sure enough, she made it. They were right. There are over 1,200 voters. One ballot, or even a dozen or so, really won't make that big of a difference. Same for the fan vote. It counts for 1 of that 1,200. Carole King also didn't get a "fan" vote at the time either. I'd say just relax and don't sweat the individual ballots you see trickle out. |

What type of fan base do they have at this point? I think MOAIA and E=MC2 are easily her albums that have the most songs that would work in a TikTok situation. Those albums are where she showed more of her sense of humor and such. I hope E=MC2 gets its 2x platinum cert soon. I think MOAIA still has a ways to go. That, Giving Me Life (my fav!), Caution, The Distance are some of the tracks I find myself listening to regularly. That run from the title track through "8th Grade" is tremendous tbh. Anyway Muni Long worked on "A No No" but says her fave is "The Distance" (which she did technically work on): |
