I wish the EP’s kept going with the IDJ years. That was a major part of her 30 years.
I wish ‘With You’ was made for the MIAMTEC album. It would’ve been a great opener to show her love for Nick before it all fell apart. Imagine the story this tracklist would’ve told:
“The Art Of Letting Go” (The divorce album) 1. With You 2. #Beautiful (ft. Miguel) 3. Faded 4. Cry 5. Make It Look Good 6. You’re Mine 7. Skydiving (ft. The Weeknd) 8. You Don’t Know What To Do 9. Camouflage 10. Mesmerized 11. Portrait 12. Meteorite 13. The Art Of Letting Go
Now THIS would’ve been Butterfly meets TEOM!

See I was so desolate before you came to me Looking back I guess it shows that we were destined To shine over the rain to appreciate The gift of what we have And I'd go through it all over again To be able to feel This way

That's where the intro came when she performed it after returning from giving them babies life. I love that intro makes the track feel more classic. I get it why they cut it out for radio the original feels more airplay ready and bouncy.

This new interview is better from Gayle than their first one last month.

I have SUCH a soft spot for Mariah’s 1988-90 recorded uptempos. Here We Go Around Again, All in Your Mind, Someday, Prisoner, You Need Me, and to an extent There’s Got to Be a Way. So cheesy and fun, and they REALLY do have a very distinct sound/style to them that was never heard again in any of her albums afterwards. Yas

Does anyone know if “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” met the deadline and was submitted for Grammy consideration for best spoken word album?

I think she will be nominated next year, but lose to former President Barak Obama.

I went through some serious s**t in my personal life when Triumphant came out, and it has been an anthem for me ever since, probably more so than the usual uplifting tracks that are referenced. I'm obviously biased because of this, but besides not sounding like the hit everyone was wanting at the time, I don't get the hate thrown at it. I think it's a bop. The sultry adlibs on top of the rap verses (which are everything) coupled with the commanding, direct vocal delivery is a moment. I live for everything about this song, I frequent it often, ask Albie . You haven't heard Triumphant until you've heard it blaring on your car stereo, down the 101 highway on a sunny SoCal day with James. Hot Road Head Anthem!

The way she was talking about it to Gayle on the radio the other day sounds like she is going to be putting on a extra festive Xmas special. Muva owns the holiday now lol

I love that Mariah tagged Biden/Harris! Ugh she has gotten me through this ENTIRE year. So excited for the Apple special and AIWFCIY domination, happy Mimi season!

Depending on chart rules over the next 9 years, I think AIWFCIY may have a chance to be the song of the decade for 2020-2029. It could have 30-40 weeks inside the top 10.

"HATE U" and "Betcha Gon' Know" could have made such epic music videos. ;_;

Queen staking claim to her title. Ps I dont think we realize how incredibly difficult it was for her to become the Queen of Christmas Christmas how everyone in the history of music has released xmas songs and albums and has been unable to claim that title in such a universal way.

Revisiting the 1,2,3 punch she gave us of the dance remixes for ATYNAF, CTTA, and Fantasy on the Caution tour, and dammit do they translate amazingly well live. If ephelia can f**k up and re-arrange our favorite tracklists, can I wish into existence an experimental project with some throwback rnb/dance/house/disco moments with SG Lewis, Calvin Harris, and Skrillex? That is my fantasy right now.

I like to think my thoroughly thought out alternative track lists would really appeal to the who’s who of the music consuming crowd.
Just wait for my MC2You redo!

"Out Here On My Own" is oddly in my top 3 from The Rarities tbqh. I keep returning to it!
I just loveeeee the vocal performance, the theatrical sound, the emotion. Ahh.
I also feel like it's really fitting to that moment/period in her life, the whole pivot of the Glitter era. It hits harder in that element.
