Will Billboard count the remix as separate single or a new single? A no. 1 debut or a no. 1 re-entry?
If a no. 1 re-entry, Mariah will break the record, no.4 re-entry record, J. Lo's song with LL Cool J. He he.
Also was there ever a 3-female collaboration hit no. 1 Hot 100?

"Lady Marmalade" (the remake) had 4 credited female acts.

I'm curious as to how the reworked "Oh, Santa!" is going to sound. I think the original is too hard to understand and follow along to, so hopefully the new version fixes that. Otherwise, it's a pretty solid original.
I think "When Christmas Comes" and "Christmas Time is in the Air Again" are far stronger songs, but from a commercial standpoint I can see why Mariah's pushing "Oh, Santa!" as it's uptempo and as Ariana and Jennifer can add more to it.
Edit: I'm so glad a song from Merry Christmas II You" is getting pushed this year, even if "Oh, Santa!" already debuted on the Hot 100. Mariah herself said many people don't know she has a second Christmas album, so this is a good way to remind people.

Question -- if AIWFCIY goes #1 again this year, that would be the first time a song has ever done that, right? The firsts song to do that was "The Twist" By Chubby Checker, recognized by Billboard as the Greatest of All Time

I’m glad she’s promoting a song from MCIIY so that the album gets a chance to shine. Last year it was all about MC1994.
I think CTIITAA is the best song on the album and her second best original Christmas song but the only way it will take off now is with a high profile Michael Buble duet.

The firsts song to do that was "The Twist" By Chubby Checker, recognized by Billboard as the Greatest of All Time Yeah, Mariah will be the 2nd artist and only female ever to do this. EDIT: Technically, Mariah already did it when the song hit #1 in 2019 and the first week of 2020. However, if AIWFCIY goes to #1 on the last chart of 2020. It will be the first time ever a song opens and closes a year at #1. 🤯 This is past legendary status. We need to come up with a new name. Lol

Let’s face it. She is past her prime so I don’t mind if she used a little “magic” to score a number 1. I mean, a number 1 is a number 1 not everyone has 1.

I'm not sure what you mean, but the answer is likely no. Plenty of songs have fallen from #1 and returned to it. Most of course happened within a matter of weeks. Another song has had two separate chart runs to #1, though; "The Twist."

Anyone thinking "Oh Santa" is debuting at #1 is off their rocker.

The lambily hasn't gotten a new Mariah song on the Hot 100 in over 5 years. Outside of "AIWFCIY" she hasn't had a top 10 single since 2009. Ariana has obviously done well lately, but considering she has her own solo material out, I don't think her stans will put much effort into this holiday single that isn't her single. Additionally it's not like they have "Santa Tell Me" competing for #1. Plus, she's not guaranteed anyway; remember the collaboration for Charlie's Angels?

Very excited to hear the remix and to see what it can do chart-wise. The release of this remix is timed really well since it coincides with the 10th anniversary of MCIIY. I wonder how much effort they will put into this. Will the remix end up on playlists on streaming services? Will there be cds, vinyls, etc. being sold as well? It will be interesting to see the rollout and promotion.
Also, I agree with those that say CTIITAA should get a push. Not only is it a fantastic song but it also has this timeless quality to it. It sounds like something that wasn't written in modern times, which is one the reasons AIWFCIY has become such a holiday classic/staple. Plus, it acts as a nice contrast to AIWFCIY. If properly promoted/pushed, I honestly think it has a decent chance to become another holiday classic in it's own right, and would further expand her legacy as the "Queen of Christmas".

I'd love to see her do a duet version with Tony Bennett or Michael Buble or someone. I don't think it can become a mainstream standard, but it can certainly become a song that gets covered a fair amount.

Forget the artists - and remember the power of Apple/Apple Music. If Apple tosses OS into a product commercial, it's odds go up significantly.

J'adore One Child and this performance! I absolutely loveee love this song. It sounds like an old hymn I used to hear in Haitian mass except Mariah and the choir is on point.

CTIITAA is terrific but it will never happen; it's 70% whispered.
I love "One Child". I also love "The Star". I don't think there's a Mariah original Christmas song I don't like.

I feel like the whispered vocals fit the song and add to the vibe that it’s looking to capture.

If she wants to really put MCIIY into the spotlight she should re-release it this year on its 10th anniversary as a duets album. Here's how it could be done:
1. Santa Clause Is Coming To Town (intro) 2. Oh Santa (ft. Ari & JHudd) 3. Little Town Of Bethlehem (ft. K Clarkson) 4. Christmas Time Is... (ft. Micheal Buble) 5. The First Noel (ft. Toni Braxton) 6. When Christmas Comes (ft. John Legend) 7. Here Comes Santa Clause (ft. JD) 8. Charlie Brown Christmas (ft. Snoop) 9. O Come All Ye Faithful (ft. Pat) 10. O Holy Night (ft. Celine Dion) 11. One Child (ft. Beyoncé) 12. Where Are You Christmas (ft. Faith Hill) 13. AIWFCIY (ft. JB) bonus: Auld Lang Song (ft. JLo) It would fulfill so many of our duet dreams and at the same time catapult MCIIY into the stratosphere.
