Oh I like this version with Ari and Jennifer much more! They actually make a lot of the lyrics clearer (who’d have thunk lol) and the song feels more varied with their vocals. Ariana did some beautiful harmonizing and Jennifer’s wailing actually helped enunciate 😎
Loved the whole Apple special too! It was OTT obviously but i had a smile on my face the whole time and Mariah pulled out lots of amazing vocals!

I enjoyed the special quite a bit. She looks gorgeous and her voice sounds great. The Peanuts bit was cute. I will watch it again tomorrow. Going to bed with a smile on my face.

The video definitely helps the song. Not sure I like what Mariah is wearing but the second half of the song is much more entertaining. Ariana sounds so low.

I like it but I prefer the original as of now. The original feels more dynamic and robust. It was very instant whereas the remix took a couple of listens.
I think it may have been the choices made in the vocal arrangements. I agree that there was a missed opportunity in parts of the song to do a Phil Spector "wall of sound" type of arrangement with their vocals. Sometimes, does it feel like they are a girl group coming together, harmonizing and playing off of each other's vocals. Other times, it comes off like they are individual acts coming together to do a tribute cover, where a bunch of singers come on stage together to pay tribute to an artist by taking turns singing parts of a song.
I do like this new version though and will support it. Like the original, it's fun, festive, and catchy. Plus, the whistle harmonizing was a welcome and pleasant surprise.

I absolutely adore the new version/video of “Oh Santa”. All of them sounded amazing. It’s so much fun and festive. I’m going to watch the whole special tomorrow.

Sadly 'Oh Santa!' just isn't that great of a song, it seems really forced from start to finish and no remix can save it.
If Mariah wants another Christmas hit, she needs to come up with a new song. I'm not saying it needs to be as huge as AIWFCIU, but she needs a song that people will want to re-listen.

I’m quite surprised Mariah gave so much to Ari and JHud. I think that’s what makes the song a little disjointed is them singing one line after another.
Nice of Mariah, but strange choice musically.

I liked the video but I have say, it made me a lil uncomfortable to see Mariah being touchy and lean towards Jen while Ariana was a bit further away and didn't get much eye contact either 👀

I don't think it's an improvement, but it's cute! I do wish they had layered the vocals throughout, the solo bits during the verses throw it off a little bit (the song is already busy). J Hud adds some much appreciated gospel flair and adds some backbone to the harmonies. The whistle moment with Ari is great, but her solo bits are blah and emotionless per the usual, especially on a song this upbeat and fun.

I think it is cute in the context of the Special. I don’t know that outside of the Special I would have been looking for this. It’s fine. A bit disappointing that there wasn’t a more structured vocal arrangement and some type of update to the production, but this definitely makes more sense in the context of the Special.

Y’all gonna kill me but this is why I think Marc Shaiman or Walter Afanasieff would’ve taken this song to the next level adding a Phil Spector classic wall of sound. JD just doesn’t have it anymore. What contributes to the awkwardness is that we have a ten year old original version to compare it with. I almost think if they did a 3 way sleigh ride it would’ve been new and much better. It could’ve been all their new song together. Mariah’s tried with Oh Santa! heavily for the last ten years performing it on every special, every late night talk show and every Christmas concert and it hasn’t clicked, and it still won’t.
