I think a few of Mariah’s Xmas songs will rise steadily and become major staples over time, including Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Joy To The World, and the new Sleigh Ride. They’re all holiday perfection from top to bottom!

CBPCH is just such a great song, in general. Written by the great songwriting team of Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. I love multiple versions of it but I’ll always treasure Darlene Love’s original and how she would perform it on Letterman every Christmas. Glad to see both Mariah’s and Darlene’s original get a decent amount of streams and airplay every year.

AIWFCIY is currently dominating globally! #1 on Spotify WORLDWIDE (almost 8M for Dec 23rd!) #1 on iTunes WORLDWIDE #1 on iTunes US #1 on Apple Music WORLDWIDE #1 on Apple Music US (the only Xmas song in the Top 10!) #1 on Amazon WORLDWIDE I don’t know what position she’s on YouTube until they release their list for the week but her two main AIWFCIY vids are getting tons of views by the hour! What hurts Mariah on Spotify US is that she's not on the second biggest playlist there, "Christmas Classics." Brenda is on both of them. Yeah I noticed that. That playlist only has the oldies oldies Xmas classics. Both AIWFCIY and Last Christmas I aren’t on the list. It explains why Rockin’ Around and Jingle Bell Rock are doing a bit better in the US. Globally however, AIWFCIY is just a monster. |
