Right.
Anyway, while I didn't even know Mariah had twitter, that was really sweet of her to give Azealia a mention. It was cute. Would be wishful thinking for a remix of 'Meteorite', but wouldn't that be something else?

That would be hot. Azealia could totally breathe new life into that song.

Meteorite also fits Azealia's style of music much more than anything Mariah has done recently, barring her dance remixes. I could see Azealia doing an unofficial remix and then Mariah saying she approves of it.

After or during the tour, I hope she gets motivated enough to make a new album. How many albums does she have left with Def Jam? Mariah has completed her contract with Def Jam. In a sense, she doesn't have a label at the moment.

Not a bad catalog with Def Jam and out of these I'd pick MOAIA or E=MC2

Well DAMN. Talk about ending on a contract on a high note. She gave Def Jam the best album of her career before peacing out. But...we also got TEOM, E=MC2 and MOAIA. Def Jam was very blessed to have her in those years. They stood by her after Filthbracelet.

I'll take MOAIA and TEOM.
TEOM was literally great beginning to end.

LOL. Are you forgetting To The Floor? It's not TERRIBLE just...there. Mariah doesn't have good chemistry with Pharrell at all because she had to bite her tongue and go with Pharrell's direction completely, which lambs know is not something Mariah does. As much as I loved TEOM when it was released and for some time afterwards, it does not touch the GOAT album that is Miami Tech.
For the record, I also like MOAIA more than TEOM as well, for H.A.T.E U ALONE.

For me, my fav Def Jam album, by far, is E=MC^2. It's not even a contest. To me THAT album is start to finish fire. f**king Nick got in the way of its due commercial performance, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do so no disrespect to Ms. Carey.

Def Jam was very blessed to have her in those years. They stood by her after Filthbracelet. Def Jam did stand by her, and frankly they allowed her to spend more money than she had any right to spend. TEOM was her only true hit/big album with them. While she did make some other quality albums, TEOM and possibly E=MC2 would be the only ones that made them any money (and considering the likely recording and promotional budget for E=MC2 as well as Mariah's advance, I doubt E=MC2 made IDJ any money). When I did my own GH for her time with IDJ, it was definitely better and more diverse than I expected. In terms of her top work with them, I might rank it above her work with Sony. I think overall her albums with Sony are better, but in terms of the highs with IDJ there were great ones. I'd summarize her IDJ work this way (fave songs in parentheses): Charmbracelet - clear attempt to pander to audiences that succeeds only if you're a Mariah fan ("BOTH" and "Clown") The Emancipation of Mimi - solid album overall, has a great spirit ("Circles" and "We Belong Together") E=MC2 - Mariah's more "current" album at time of release, album with the most personality lyrically but least Mariah otherwise ("I Wish You Well" and "Side Effects") MOAIA - I appreciate the effort of mostly using one production team, this has some real gems but also some boring clunkers ("HATEU" and "Candy Bling") MCIIY - a lot better than I expected; Mariah was in great voice, and she worked well with Shaiman ("Christmas Time Is In The Air Again" and "When Christmas Comes") MIAM - very underrated in that the public didn't give it a chance; her best work since Sony ("#Beautiful," "Dedicated," and "Cry.")

Stay The Night, I Wish You Knew, Making It Last All Night were my favorites. MOAIA besides the ballads I play throughout.

TEOM cannot be mentioned without the flawless bonus/lost tracks Secret Love and Sprung. Those are my two favs from that disc. STN is third.

I think her contract was supposed to end with this album and I wouldn't be surprised if she stayed where she is.

I think her contract was supposed to end with this album and I wouldn't be surprised if she stayed where she is. I'd be surprised if she stays. Who works there now that she gets along with well? Between L.A. Reid and others going to different labels and Mariah apparently being unhappy with how MIAM was handled (though, really, a lot of that was her fault with the delays), I doubt she wants to stay. And more so, I doubt the label will be willing to give her an acceptable deal. Of course, I am not sure what label will give her a deal at this point that meets her demands. L.A. Reid might be willing because of their history, but at the end of the day he is still running a business for profit.

She's still capable of a another decent size hit, and a platinum album. I'd hope she stay due to her and L.A.'S relationship

I doubt any label is going to give Mariah anywhere near what she probably thinks she's worth at this point. Same thing happened after Glitter. People like Clive over at J didn't even want her. Lyor threw her a vanity label with her deal, which never went anywhere. I could see her signing with LA because she's comfortable with him.

Mariah needs a change in labels. Only so long a diva can stay on a label and not piss everyone off with her ways and demands. New label would rejuvenate everything until the relationship ends up strained again!

THE FIRST I EVA HEARD SING THIS PART LIVE I"M IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN, LIKE WE JUST RENEWED OUR VOWS!! Did her backtrack fail on the first belt ? i mean she was doing this belt when the track had stopped playing. Sounds good but it does highlight the fact that there is no way she has ever done this belt before live. On the record its probably done in a few bits and put together. This live belt sounded great, full and powerful.

One problem from IDJMG is that sometimes they even overlooked Mariah's selling power after TEOM, all her albums after 2005 have a lot of returns (CDs) except for The Elusive Chanteuse which only has slightly more than 100k copies of initial shipment.

Mariah did the "Emotions" intro again and she sounded STELLAR: http://instagram.com/p/vV1-FmNm-- I know I sound like a broken record commenting on this, but... really it's astonishing the difference in the way she sounds now compared to the very start of the tour; then she could barely stay in her mid-register, and now she's belting high!
